"You build up the lasso, learn how to sweep, now people know you play lasso, guess what, they're going to learn how to stop your lasso". This kind of advice/info is a goldmine, and this is when most instructional fail. They just show technics, they don't explain the mentality and the path you should follow in order to reach your destination. Thank you professor Tinoco. Big OSS
OSS, professor. Nobody is doing this on RUclips. God bless you, keep going. I support you. My professor, shows a lot of Marcelo’s work. Such a blessing. I’m ultra heavy 6.3 260 I’ve been working leg lasso since seeing your system (about a month) I feel so strong in that position. I’ll play lasso, spider into a tarantula guard. What sweep would you recommend for an ultra heavy that we can get into. As you know we are very stiff shouldered and mass lol. Thank you for what you do.
That’s amazing Lasso can be very good for you learn how to use lasso holding far side pants you will sweep everyone easy trust me one side lasso opposite side pants BIG OSSS
I had my partner in lasso on left arm. Spider guard with sleeve control on the right arm. She was standing really far away so I was overextended and she was able to defeat spider to free that side by pulling further away. Then she stepped over my body 180° with her far leg (exposing her back to me) then locked in a knee bar with my left leg for the tap. Caught me by surprise. 😅
Thanks for the content, I am a beginner trying to develop some guard, I have to say since I have been watching your channel and using the lasso I am starting to achieve more retention and sweeps. BIG OSS!
That’s awesome this can your your strong game for sure super easy to build all you need to do is train and exercise the technique every day in train BIG OSS watch the playlist of lasso on the channel
Thank you for your graciousness in sharing! I was wondering any options for when my opp steps over my non-lasso leg and start to pressure pass over that leg...Much appreciate for all you do! Please visit Axis in Tokyo if you ever get a chance. We'd love to have you!
You mean when they step over the bottom leg, when put weight on the lasso leg trying to smash the legs together? I am trying to understand here so I can help you with. And yes Tokyo is in my top list to visit for sure.
Do they go all the way up like deadlift when you lose your grips? Do they do up but bring their legs back like sprawl back little bit? Thank you I will work on that for you all BIG OSS
Hello Marcos! I got your instructional, all of them and it’s very good. Can you please summarize how to react when the opponent goes to one side , backwards, and stand up? I think it will help me get more clarity. Thank you! Big oss!
Sure, question which side opposite side of your lass or the same side of lasso? I will cover up all the question on this video I have a lot video lined up already but I will Cover them all THANK you BIG OSS
@@BIGOSS.JIU-JITSU Please do both. One scenario is they push the shoulder on my knee and pass it from same side. I know I need to keep my knee above the shoulder but they still are able to walk and still push. Any help would be greatly appreciated! BIG OSS!
Excellent! Thank you. Your go to when they do the opposite, not pressuring your lasso but they back away, attempting to stretch out and unwind your lasso?
Thx for sharing your wealth of knowledge. What could be done against a standing opponent who posts his far leg away & basically tripods with non-lassoed arm on the ground?
Ossss! Hey Coach - question about grips and hand health: Any tips for folks who deal with hand pain from playing lasso/spider/other guards? I know most people like to say “just abandon your grips early and move to another control point” but as we know, you def don’t want to let go of the sleeve on the lasso side or the opp is past the guard. I’m nearly 50 and my hand is still in so much pain from training lasso a full week ago. Big Ossss!
BIG OSS! Thank you so much for these videos. The problem that I have been facing is that when I take the lasso guard, bigger opponents make themselves heavier around my legs. I am unable to generate enough power yo break their posture and soon enough they pass my guard. Can you please help me with this?
Hey brother, thank you for the advice, usually when I go to the Lasso (lasso on my left foot) the opponent smashes with the right knee cut over my belly How do we address this?
Professor thank you very much for all the fantastic content it has been very helpful! A difficulty i am facing when playing lasso is trying to put on the lasso when my opponent turns his arm into an omo plata position not allowing me to properly control the hand as his wrist is below my Thigh Any advice on how i can deal with this? Thank you in advance ossss!
Great stuff! How do you address an opponent’s pass attempt to the lasso side? Or, someone who squats really low with the leg of my lasso side up? Or, a counter to Barbosa’s knee on the stomach pass he uses?
When I get the lasso my favorite sweep is the one with other leg in between theirs and I grab there pants and sweep to the lasso side. However when people know it’s coming they almost sit the their butt on the other side. I’m trying to figure out a counter to this counter.
you need to understand how to set thing up there is the right time, for example if they sit heavy they can pass your guard, but if they try to pass your guard they will take the weight off that means its your time to sweep
When they pass your knee, get sideways and then smash you.... That's what I need to learn. BIg Oss! Thankyou!

get underhook/grips on the far side leg to sweep a squatting opponent.
@@Matthew-zb3iw Doesn’t seem to work against guys who do the “Filipino” squat.
@@jdplemons offbalance them with your lasso, push/pull to make them step so you can get your grip.
great!
I have a hard time when people keep a strong upright posture and i cant bring them down into my sweeps.
Can you link the video of how to do the sweep you are referring to here with the leg between the legs?
Instead of stacking and passing the lasso arm/leg, they pass under or smash my other leg then work out my lasso grip later
