Great video, but I do want to note that Bionicle had system set tie-ins for the 2005 visorak metru nui arc, with the sets being 8757 Visorak Battle Ram, 8758 Tower of Toa, 8759 Battle of Metru Nui, and a 'special edition' 8769 Visorak's Gate.
The second best era of LEGO Star Wars imo. They really went out of their way to make a substantial amount of products and merchandise over the releasing films
The prices were insane. $20 for a decent tie interceptor, $30 for a massive B Wing with a stand that holds up today, $30 for an N1 with vulture droid, $50 for a sturdy and still my favorite Slave 1, and 100 for that legendary MTT. It was definitely an awkward era in between ROTS and the Clone Wars because it kind of felt pointless since the saga had ended but the sets were incredible upgrades from their original renditions
I think it’d be awkward if they didn’t see their moment, and go for the “modernizations” at the time. Such a bold and smart move. They learned a lot there and that’s why all the Clone Wars stuff was as good as it was
@@PenPlays yeah they were fantastic upgrades. It’s crazy to think that was the first and I think only era of Lego Star Wars where the franchise had nothing cooking (Clone Wars and Force Unleashed weren’t until 2008) so they were forced to remake sets to continue the license.
2005-2007 are my favorite years of LEGO Star Wars. 2006-2007 is when I first got into LEGO and I have memories of 2005 Star Wars sets though. Love many of the years after, but these years are easily the most nostalgic for me and have a special place in my heart ahha
I remember liking the LEGO World City advertising showing structures in a LEGO city that used just bricks and windows.... something that I think made me look at LEGO from a different perspective. LEGO was building the world from bricks for minifigures (in the advertising anyway) that seemed complete versus those from the eighties with open backs. I love the LEGO park builds but those were huge, and there are still builds that I want to build myself. While I'm not (unfortunately) interested in the Modulars, the early to mid 2000s advertising still has a place in my LEGO dreams.
I don't remember if I commented of this series of yours before, but this whole series is excellent! It really brings me back to the past! It's also perfect to listen to when I edit animations ^^
I had most of the sets you mentioned, especially that Star Destroyer! And can’t forget that Sail Barge lol my mom built it and she said every brown piece looked the same lmao. I hope to get the Ultimate super star destroyer one day. Great vid down nostalgia lane!
While I don’t remember much of revenge of the Sith lego sets since I was 4 and at that time I went with my mom and dad in theaters to see the movie, I only remember owning two sets. One was the battle droid battle pack which I thoroughly enjoyed but got lost to time, and the general grievous Star fighter which unfortunately my mom glued together TWICE. (second time since I somehow managed to take apart the set the 1st time with it already being glued together)
Perfect timing cause I was thinking earlier today how the sets for 2007 felt like the figures were somewhat lacking compared to 05 and 06. That year is definitely the strongest from this era in terms of builds imo, but a lot of the sets come with 1-2 figures and a lot of times they are repeats of what we saw before and slight updates. I wonder if this was to accommodate for budget issues to not risk the early 2000s debt they suffered.
I gotta be honest, I want more repeat figures these days (if it makes sense). I do not want to pay ungodly prices just to get a handful of exclusive and brand new figures
What a time to be a child and star wars fans. Feels like Lego these days is made for adults. Kids don’t care about little tiny details, they want big sets with cool play features.

You’re right! I completely spaced them!

GREAT PENPLAYS LEGO STAR 🌟 WARS SETS 2005- 2007
And all the comics and books they made t9 tie in with the movies. The clone wars multimedia project was insane

Nothing quite like it!

Do you think you may do Eras videos like this for other themes? I feel you could do ones for Ninjago or Super Heroes.
Possibly. Only one theme at a time for me tho
Oh that would be amazing.
I hope that you do a 2008-2010 before the new year
I think this series could be going places… quote me
I’m very happy you feel that way. All that can be done really is sharing it around with folks.

I feel like lego mite go into another dark area
I own that version of Jabba’s Sail Barge and won’t pay 500 dollars for the new UCS one.
NOOOOO! WHERE IS THE NEXT ONE! WHAT WILL I WATCH FOR BREAKFAST?!?! D:
