  • I'll walk you through how I built my portable Batocera arcade system out of mostly recycled parts. I'll talk about how it works and what you can learn from my mistakes and pain points so you can plan for an even smoother and hopefully easier build.
    Some links to parts:
Amazon search for the Aluminum Tool Cases

    Audio line noise reduction device:

    Arcade Buttons and Joystick:
Three is so much preference involved here I would hesitate to tell people what to buy specifically. I'm using a 10 button kit, you can get those from amazon or alieexpress, all over the place really. The only really specific things I've looked for were a set with all clear buttons so I can add led's myself later, and a joystick with a detachable shaft, in my case I had to order one seperate becuase I already had a full kit and just couldn't use the joystick. You can find those online ofcourse.:

    Laptop LCD Controller Board:
You'll have to pull an lcd panel out of an old laptop (older will probably have better support) and look online for a controller for that specific model. You can find the model's on stickers attached to the back of the panels and just look on ebay for "MODEL_NUMBER LCD Controller board":
