  • India's largest conglomerate, Tata Group, has been a household name in the country for over a century, known for their consumer goods, IT, steel, and automobile ventures. However, their recent success has led them to expand their horizons internationally, and their strategy has been to acquire iconic British brands. We'll take a closer look at their acquisitions, such as Jaguar, Land Rover, and Tetley, and explore the success they've found in these ventures.
Join me as I explore the emotional consequences, financial implications, and the future of these iconic British brands under Tata's ownership. We'll also discuss other Indian companies following in Tata's footsteps and how this trend is shaping the global business landscape.

Brother you're half wrong on the fact that British imported raw materials from colonies and exported finished products. They enforced tariffs on local businesses, manufacturing and exploited all the natural resources from their colonies to make their own companies competitive and many times even forced their colonies to purchase finished British products at higher costs which means free raw material and higher profit margins on finished British goods giving them huge returns. It was a win win situation for them and unfortunately as the colonies liberated from British Empire the access to raw materials became more competitive for British brands which were not familiar for competitive market environment and they started loosing money which TATA and other companies exploited. Similarly MG motors were acquired by Chinese company and so on. It's a lesson to British people that if you support unjust actions on other people for personal gains and prosperity, then sooner or later you'll face the KARMA of your heinous actions.

@@jj591 I think you're unaware of British Colonial history mate, kindly visit the London museum and see what all they've looted from all over the world. I mean they've not even spared god idols from religious places 😆😆those collection itself would worth billions of dollars. And all I'm saying is the brutal exploitation of raw materials and forced market consumption from colonies laid the foundation for uncompetitive ecosystem for these companies. Once WW2 ended the British Empire collapsed and these industries were no longer getting all the freebies as they got before WW2. Now to be competitive they've to either buy the raw materials from someone, produce domestically or find ways to cut production cost. Now the same colonies which were forced to buy British goods and sell free raw materials can now choose the best deal which any county's or company offer to them.
As far as Germany is concerned the very main reason for Industrial Revolution of Germany was their late realisation of being left behind compared to other colonial empires like French, British, Spanish, Portuguese and Italians who colonised majority of resource rich countries across the continents and the germans were left with nothing. This meant they're left without free raw material supplying colonies and markets to consume their products which bought hatred among German society for fellow Europeans and indeed two world wars were fought. And majority of German brands who build world class automative in present day are the products of German Military Industrial Complex which produced weapons for Germany. After defeat they paid repercussion to other nation which meant they need to earn more to pay back and for that they need to be more competitive. No big army was allowed meaning major resources can be allocated for R&D of products unlike UK, France who spent billions on defence.
As far as TATA is concerned they're traders of textile and spices through sea to china long before British arrived in Indian sub continent. The British hired these traders to export opium to Chinese markets which lead to famous opium war between china and Britain, so being hired by someone to sell your opium doesn't mean any aid or grant in any dictionary and secondly if you're so close to the Empire that you trade opium for them, then allowing them with some pleasantries can be okay for British Empire. So by no means the British Empire did anything good for the colonies instead it was generational exploitation and forceful occupation which eventually got what it deserved!!
HOPE NOW YOU GOT YOUR FACTS CLEARED MATE :)

Mr. Tata also adopts street dogs and does their rehabilitation and gets them adopted into homes through a charity he works with, street dogs have the freedom of moving and roaming inside the Tata Headquarters at Mumbai, some of them, spend their nights outside the office, everyday the office kitchen staff especially prepare meals for the street dogs and feed them, Mr. Tata has adopted a street dog as his pet, one of his favorite pastimes is to visit the dog shelter and play with them.❤

I worked for Land Rover in the eighties and when Jaguar was losing its orestige. Both brands had been kicked round various owners, not much investment in either brand but used as not doing much with them but rake off the profits. Along came TATA bought both brands and invested heavily and made the the succes they are now. You could argue are they still British brands, id say yes. Because TATA didnt buy them and strip out the factories and send them overseas to be made cheaply, but the built new factories and bought in new models and uograded exsisting factories. Doesnt matter who the owners are or where they are from, as long as they see the value in the brand and put in the investment, then they can reap the rewards of the gamble they made with their money and keep brands alive and people in work. God bless Ratan Tata.

TATA is already in around 150 Countries, i don't think they are 'thinking' of expanding quite recently. it's started when Ratan Tata first took office in 1990. he is already out of it in 2012(a decade ago). and for Royal Enfield's case it's more of an Indian brand, they had no brand value when it's first acquired and almost at Bankrpucy
