I watched this couple get chosen to go to Bethel and they were all smiles. 6 months later they came back for a visit and I noticed 2 things 1. She lost a lot of weight (being over weight is frowned upon, GB excluded) 2. The smiles were gone from their faces and replaced with the fake smile. The only thing I don’t like is when people call what JW’s do a bible study. It’s not a bible study. It’s a Watchtower book study. Where you are indoctrinated into JW beliefs. You read a scripted paragraph in a Watchtower magazine or book. Then a scripted question that takes you back to the scripted paragraph. Where you give the answer that the Jehovah’s Witnesses want you to give. A bible study is a verse by verse chapter by chapter reading of the Bible . With an open discussion at the end of it. What the Jehovah’s Witnesses call a bible study is a brainwashing and indoctrination into there deluded beliefs.

It's killing me that I just commented on one of Lloyd's videos this morning about peeking behind the curtain and this video drops today! 😂Thank you Lloyd and thank you, William for this amazing interview! It's always fascinating to listen to recounted tales of what it is like to again, peek behind the curtain. About the personality change, although it's a bit different since I never went to Bethel, I can personally say that the way that the feelings of bitterness, worthlessness, aimlessness, and anger just... faded away after I left and started to heal - It was so baffling to me. I always remember being told when I was young by my immediate family that I was such an angry person, that if I married, my future husband would leave me. If I had close friends, they'd leave me too. While I realize now that a majority of these comments were emotional/verbal abuse (I definitely attend therapy now 😂), I also realize now just how much happier and free, I feel. If a religion claims to be the "One True Religion", you should never feel or experience the things so many of us have.
Bit of a tangent, but thanks again for this video. 😊

As a teenager, I made a worldly decision with cigarettes, and a worldly girl, fornication. I was so foolish with that, just really young. My whole life was the JW organization, family, friends, and everything involved with that lifestyle. In school any of us affiliated as a JW were considered abnormal, not welcome, and not fitting in. After being disfellowshiped, you have to learn where you stand in life. You are now the abnormal one with your loved ones, your friends, congregation, and your school mates. I was told I am dead in Gods eyes. Talk about hopeless emotions. I had a tough time adjusting to shutting off the love I had coursing through me toward my newly estranged family and best friends. I felt they gave up 1 person, I gave up all of them. I have lived many decades without them. The worst was not going to God,. Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy Spirit...I accepted the words I was dead in Gods eyes. That changed 16 yrs ago, God saved me from suicide. He promised me friendships unlike any I have experienced before. With all those Bethel housekeepers around, Bethel sounds like a prison. Bethel workers are probably scared to do almost anything for fear of somehow going against the rules. You have to worry about what literature you read, what movies, TV shows or online programs you view, what music you listen to. I agree with Lloyd, no wonder the Pillowgate scandal occurred. How are Bethelites supposed to cope with their stress when one is constantly having Big Brother looking over your shoulder making you always worry that you're "doing something wrong"...even when you're abiding by the rules? Many Bethelites probably might cope with such stress through secretly engaging in forbidden, guilt-ridden sexual acts or by drinking outrageous amounts of alcohol, doing things that aren't healthy for them.

I have a sort of relationship with active witness parents right now, I am “faded” currently, but as many viewers here know it can change at any time, any talk or local needs could change their attitude and demeanor with us at any moment the other shoe could drop and coldness occur(ultimately now I am building up confidence and self love so it affects me less than it use to, the way they treat me ultimately doesn’t affect me like it used to be soul crushing). Also I appreciate your mentioning the separation from the outside family members that occurs as well, like my grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles who were all Catholic and I loved them! But when mom converted we started withdrawing from them all pretty severely actually, separating ourselves and losing all my neighbor friends just loss after loss after loss…

Thank you for this video. I’ve been out, just stopped going and had moved out in the country. That was about 30 or so years ago. It is so hard to leave the people because they get you to cut off a lot from your unbelieving family and they are your society. But how sad that they really do not love you at all! If you leave, an easy bye bye to you from them. Terribly cruel! They arrogantly look down on unbelievers and talk bad about them. So Godly, right. Even within the organization they are so cruel to each other. Their beliefs have to be forced into your mind by “studying” a twisted version of the Bible beliefs. So sad. I am thankful to God to be free of their version of “the truth” . But I must say it is difficult to trust any ‘religion’ now. I believe in God and Jesus not religion.

Allowing “an organization of satan” to do this most important work, why did “god” allow them to compile his most important book, “his word”? Meanwhile where was this line of faithful and discreet slave? Why didn’t they do the compiling?? This is just wonderful! This being the case, did Bethelites ever get satchels or minisafes that they could lock up - thus keeping their items from prying eyes. So, we’re lockable cases or safes permitted in bedrooms? Just wondering. Appreciate any one whose been at Bethel who knows whether or not lockable cases etc are permitted?

And in countries with higher crime rates it is good to have someone that knows the local customs. And dangers.
Religious orgs are often excempt for the need of getting work permits, provided that the volunteers are not paid and the org guarantees for them (their board and their good behavior. Scientology recruits people from Europe and other nations that would never get a green card).

His arguments are valid, and some of them almost make sense. Like his expectation of an organization that is run by God. But we dont have to speculate on that because we have it in the bible. The Israelites were a nation governed by God and constantly failed and acted in ways that God didn't approve. Why would it be different now?
