    You need to get 60” crossbars. Then you can mount it on the outside of the foot packs. Will Have way more room on the inside as well. Will have so much more space for everything. Looks good 👍

      Should add that I’m running Rhino-rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - 49in, the 6.5in SlimShaddy (topo patern), Inno wedge 660 (because it will fit under my garage door with 1.5in to spare). Thinking about adding a skinny warrior basket pending space and maybe those Orbis Wings…

      @@ChasingAdventuresCO I lucked out, but thankful as I’ve got kind of a topo theme going with the awning, license plate holders, and vinyl hood and spoiler decals. This is so well filmed and explained. Thank you. I had a few questions. I ordered a new Outback Wilderness, and have the Thule 53 inch evo wing bars with Thule Rapid Crossroad foot pack. I’d like to order this awning and prefer to mount it to the outside of the roof rails and foot clamps. This will allow more space for my XT Force Thule roof large box and potential other stuff. Do you possibly know if this is possible and does the awning clamps lock onto the crossbar? I’m trying to find out the measurement from the inner roof rail to the other inner roof rail. - this will determine how much overhang I’ll have with the 53 inch crossbars. Maybe 53s are too long, but that’s what REI sold me. 😂 Love your videos and can’t wait to car camp and hit the trails.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  Год назад +1

      Thanks, Brian! I know it's not the answer you wanted to hear, but being honest, I have not had any experience with the set you are getting however just from the measurements, I can tell you Yakima Slimshady will not fit on the over hang portion of the bar unless, you offset it to one side and that might do the trick. I hope that helps and please let me know how it goes!

      @ChasingAdventuresCO  Год назад +1

      Thank you for subbing! I appreciate that! I still love my awning and deploying the awning is pretty simple and straightforward. I used it in my camping video recently and had no issues. also, I think 6.5 length is just right for the OBW. any longer, it will stick out too much toward the front of the car and won't look right. just my 2 cents.

    I've got a very similar setup and was looking to get this same awning specifically because of those EasyOff mounts from Yakima. Do you know the width of those mounts particularly at the clamp? Because I have a different cargo box and cross bars and I'm afraid there may not be enough room on the cross bars like you show very well at 10:15.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  Год назад

      Hello, the width of my thule bars are about 3¹/⁴ so if you have a larger bar, I don't think it will work cause mine barely went in. And the width of the mount is measured at 2.5 inches and the upper widest part was 2.75. Hope that helps and if yoi have any other question, send it over. Thanks!
