Great build. I wonder if after this patch 7.18 there will be something that will strengthen it even more :) I'm looking forward to your next builds. Maybe you could create a build for each character for one basic attack?
@@BearThor I didn’t actually swap to it until I was level 100 so unfortunately I do not know! Going off what I know though, if you can drop some decent gear early on you might be able to make it work but I think it’d be easier to level with something else until you drop some good gear with basic attack-crit damage-vuln damage and dmg to close or slowed. And of course some good armor and accessories
Have you considered running fists of fate? It might be cool but I don't know if it would work with thorns but I was thinking it would be kinda funny with frenzy attack speed getting randomly high damage procs.
I'm making a similar build but using double swing as an additional AOE damage source, groundstomp for triggering the enhanced double swing and unbridled rage for more power. It's so much fun and fast as hell. I still wonder what about putting skill points in Wrath of the Berserker, but not using it as an active skill. Will the buffs still work, when entering berserker mode otherwise?
Please tell me how you maintain vulnerable (unless kick is the only way) and how you get the aoe effect with frenzy. Im trying this build out and thats the only thing Im not getting.
Jason Volkoff in the comments made me realise that the Rage of Harrogath isn’t working, I’ll release an updated version of the build while rage is bugged. For now I’d say try razorplate if you have it and see how your survivability is. If it’s bad or you don’t have razorplate then I’d recommend just getting a god rolled legendary chest piece that has Dmg from close, dmg from far, total armor and Max hp/dmg while fortified
Is total armor increases that good ? I ask because every 10 levels monster is above your the dr from armor is 1/2 so once your hit top content you would hit the minimum damage reduction of 5% no matter how much you invest in it. Or does it matter because you will never really get to tier 100 so this fact doesn't change anything?
@@richardmenz3257 Are you sure this is the case? Because if so then yeah that’s stupid and I guess total armor isn’t that good for endgame. Although I have a felt like a can take a few hits in tier 90s that I have tried so far so I’m not sure
@@Odinataa it is based off what was said and the chart but it matters if it works like they said or they simplified it by saying it work like x. If it is based on said it is bad at super high tiers, but if it’s simplified it prob better to still have armor. Sadly only lvl 68 since I don’t have time to play much to test for sure. I would love to see how it works though because most stack armor and it actually works like I was indicating this may be why many can’t take any hits at mega high tiers and some stat swaps may make you able to take way more hits.
@@Odinataa I found more info on this. So looks like you need somewhere around 13k armor to have max dr versus level 154 monsters. You can do something like 13 * 13 / 2 (84.5 percent) for 13 k armor and 7 *7/ 2 (24.5 percent) to get close to the dr percent. So looking at the armor you can get on your character versus the dr from damage reduction will let you know what works better. Seems like armor focus on barb will work but necro and sorc cannot stack enough armor so the % dr boost is actually better. Also the calculation above is no /2 for monsters level 100. It my calc it seems around monster level 130 monsters is when dr % is better then + armor %.
What are your thoughts on Frenzy + CC (2 Butcher's Cleaver, maybe Frostburn/Fist of Fate) to stagger bosses, been playing with the idea of using that for Echo of Lilith?
Sorry for the late response, I actually have tried butchers cleaver with the 30% chance to stun bleeding enemies on hit and swapped the chest for a legendary chest that makes you do 50% more damage to unstoppable. It worked pretty well, I did unstoppable because you constantly fearing and stunning will make most enemies unstoppable
Hi Odinata, thanks so much for this! Happy to support you if you have patreon. I love to follow this and also into theorycrafting. Do you have discord, and can I ask you questions there? I'm not really a veteran like you. The first one is, is this good for levelling 50-100 or WW / HotA would be more efficient?
Hello! You’re welcome :) glad to help. I do not have a patreon, didn’t think anyone would support me but I very much appreciate that! Yeah theory-crafting is very fun to do, especially when it works out very well! I do have a discord, it’s odinata. Don’t think there’s a number after you name anymore, as for levelling with this build. I’m not entirely sure since I rolled to this build when I hit 100 due to getting bored of whirlwind but that being said I think it could work if you can get some decent gear rolls it will definitely work
Although it definitely won’t be as efficient as WW or Hota if that’s what you’re looking for, even at this point it’s not as efficient as those two with your main skill being a basic attack but it does work well and is satisfying to play! If I had to guess though I’d say that the build would get going decently after you get some weapons that have Crit dmg-vuln-basic attack and strength and the aspect that makes your thorns into an aoe hit as this is what helps us kill packs fast
Nice build. One question I have why the key passive you chose? Kick and chains don’t swap weapons do they or do they have set weapons slots they use(kick=blunt,chains=2h sword)
This is more of a hybrid build, but yeah you do need a decent amount of gear. I’d say for my build you want Battle trance unique amulet, good basic attack rolled weapons, a chest piece with good defences and thorns on it or the Rage of harrogath that I’m wearing. If you want more thorns then definitely the Razorplate but you’d need to get some more survivability through your legs
@odinataa Hey bud I recently found your build the first one with wrath of the berserker I have a few questions about your build and how come you swapped out things from the old build to steel grasp for example and maxing out the rallying cry instead of challenging shout? I am only currently level 61 and I love this build its so strong and fun to play I lack a few things but it still smacks and its great just respecced to the newer build but i dont see why the changes (i may be a noob for not seeing it but is it possible i can get a reason why the changes? :) when you have time that is :)
Hey, Glad you like the build :) So I changed out Wrath of the berserker to stew grasp because I noticed that the kick consuming fury didn’t actually give me a damage buff like it should have and also steel grasp gives us easy access to vulnerable. The challenging shout 10% extra dr from it being levelled up wasn’t very noticeable since we’re so tanky anyway so the extra resource sustain is more helpful to us
Also steel grasp gives us easy access to berserking too so it’s a very good replacement for Wrath. If you are having survivability issues though then keep challenging shout maxed out instead of Rallying cry
@@Odinataa ohhh right thank you for replying so quickly Thankfully the kick resource thing now works and is giving us the damage buff so i am currently sticking with your other build maybe when i get tankier while leveling up ill change it up however steel grasp is a bit rubbish for me at the moment :) maybe when i get tankier i will check it out but yea i love the 50% damage reduction from maxed challenging shout :) but i do understand where you're coming from with that one being it only being 10% upgrade :) however i was just looking through the skills If i was to go 1/5 challenging shout i would put them in a few a passive skills like for example i would put 3 points in to defensive stance and 1 point in to duelist instead of maxing rallying cry :)
I wonder about using Flay instead of the Steel grasp. You could hit back and forth between Frenzy/Flay... flay has inherit bleed dmg so should proc rage chest, it has chance to make enemies vulnerable, dmg reduction and thorns, and also give you 2 walking arsenal buffs.
You know, funny enough I actually tested this last night and it was very good! The flay also gives you more damage reduction and thorns so it’s very good. You can definitely lose out on a decent amount of dps though if you get bad rng with flay not procing vulnerable
Have you ever used rupture? I was using it on my rend build, but when running into a pack with a couple elites, it allowed me to easily keep all my shouts 100% uptime. I think because it has a really high lucky hit chance, and the secondary explosions each have a chance to proc the rage chest. Intended? Not sure... but it sure felt really nice for that reason alone. I was trying your build and was about to try it... i suppose it's purely a supplemental skill... but it also procs an attack speed buff or a decent heal too.
Why do you choose walking arsenal when you don’t swap weapon? As we hit really fast, would not be better to put skull gems in the slots to life steal? I will try this build 🙌
I use walking arsenal because it’s a separate multiplier to our damage. The other keystones don’t really benefit our build. The bleed keystone is slightly good and berserking is meh
@@ricardotrigo8264 It procs when you do damage with each weapon, not when you swap. You get 10%x damage for just doing damage with your skills. The modifer gets higher per weapon you do damage with but the 10%x damage is better than the other Keystones for this build. We can't benefit from Unbridled rage as we don't use core skills, we don't do enough bleed to make use of Gushing Wounds and Unconstrained is too little of an additive damage buff
I watched the video twice, but the damage numbers seems to be relatively low. Is it just a fallacy or does a Frenzy-build much less damage in comparison to Hota or WW?? I see that for that reason you use "Power-Kick" which makes 4.4 Mio Damage at 9.29. Is Power-Kick the highest damage skill?
Yes, Frenzy does much less damage than a core skill will. It’s a basic attack so it won’t be comparable, this build is mainly for people who want to try something different or just for people who loved using frenzy from previous diablo games. But that being said it is perfectly viable for endgame, just slower than using something like whirlwind or hota. Power kick helps us take out elites and bosses, it is indeed our highest damage skill by far on this build
Would all stats be worth it more then damage to close weapon damage? It would result in 21 % more damage from thorns, kick, and more armor at the cost of 12% basic attack damage. What do you think after using the build would work out better overall?
Weapon wise I’m using Crit, vuln, basic and strength as optimal rolls atm but if you’re having trouble keeping up vuln or critting, you could replace either with all stats
@@Odinataa What I was saying is if you add your total + damages all up and do calculations everything multiplying all stats will cause thorns, kick to do 21 % more damage then it does now while your basic attacks will do 12 % less total. I was wondering if the trade off is worth it as in would making your main attack 12 % worst worth a 21 % stronger kick.
@@Odinataa I re did the numbers I messed up some where. I use all states inlace of basic skill damage. So it is actually a 15 % lose in basic damage for a 10% increase in thorns, 10% increase in kick, and more armor so prob not worth it unless you can make a better paragon board with the extra 200 in stats.
I watched the entire video of the dungeon and didnt see your chestpiece reduce your cooldowns even once. Pretty sure the bleed from that aspect does not work with that (iirc, it needs to be a bleed from an innate ability: like rend, flay, or lunging strike upgrade). The build might be better by switching back to Razorplate chest
I have been testing this in pvp with a friend, I came to the conclusion that frenzy is glitched right now and cannot lucky hit. I switched the lunging strike and it was instantly procing. The only issue with razorplate is when you try endgame. The enemies do too much damage to survive with it but it might be better to switch out to a go drilled chest piece
@@jasonvolkoff3147 Yeah for sure, I hope this is a bug and not how it’s intended to be. Since you brought this to my attention though I’ve been using razorplate for anything below tier 80 and tier 80 and above I use a god rolled legendary to get more survivability
I'm about to use a similar build but replace Frenzy with Flay and use Dual Weild for Flay. The reason is: Flay does good bleeding damage and works well with thorn. How do you think?
Yeah this will work good too, as vanphan mentioned. This is a frenzy build made for people who want to go all in with frenzy but yes Flay with bleed and thorns is very good
@@Odinataa Tried Frenzy last 2 day. I can only manage to get the damage to 50K with vulnable and crit. My gears is similar ot you except I can only get Min aspect of the Unique sword.

It's the nearess " Frenzy" build i found.
@@styrkaar3804 you’re welcome, it’s true. Frenzy is not as good as it was in diablo 3 but this is the best I can get it. You can do good dps with frenzy alone though, you can replace kick with iron skin if you want. I just like it for the burst
So I’m new to Barb (I main a Rogue). I’m looking at doing a thorns build. Why do you have the grasp rather than a bleed effect like rend? I don’t know all the Barb specific aspects yet so I don’t know about all the synergies, but the skills look like it wants you to use bleeds with thorns. I’ve seen some of the WW based thorn builds and they have issues doing NM dungeons 10+ levels above.
You can use bleed with thorns but it’s not mandatory, I only use the thorns to proc bleed on the enemies so I get bonus damage to them from them being slowed. We do a lot more damage to enemies that are vulnerable which is why we use grasp as we don’t have many consistent ways to apply vulnerable
Also this is a basic attack build and I wanted to stay true to that by not using a core skill but if you want to use rend or the bleed ww you could replace the grasp with one of those
@@Odinataa so I found a Death Blow build that uses the vulnerable passive and it works really well at level. I still need some crucial aspects to make the DB damage viable against elites and bosses, but it has some promise. It uses WW’s pull aspect to group mobs and apply vulnerable so DB can one shot things. I’ll have to re-look thorns when I get into WT4.
@@Odinataa im at lvl 78 and my lung strike ist criting for 120- 160 with more than 300%attackspeed and my Thorns do 80k dmg i did this build on my own but of course it needs some Upgrade but to be fair its my First time hittong 78 in diablo
@@qoo7248 Yeah this is good, and no we do not need echoing fury as we don't really use our fury often enough to make use of it. We're mostly full since we're a basic attack build
Not sure why my prior comment got deleted. Anyway, Hey I wanted to bring berserking to your attention, I’ve been experimenting with my own version of frenzy/thorns and found a way to snowball the damage buff on it infinitely - requires Unconstrained and Wrath of the Berserker among other things. I regularly grow 5k atk to 45k by the end of each dungeon run and everything starts hitting really hard. If you want to talk over disc or something hit me back - I don’t see any other barbs playing this type of builds so I thought we could share notes
Sounds like it could be good! I actually tried doing that before, I was using the wrath in the previous video but it wasn’t giving me the damage buff for some reason so I stopped using it but if it works for you then maybe I could try again, it doesn’t work with kick though that’s for sure. Link your discord I guess
Welcomee, I’m using the glyph exploit so when you first hit them they become vulnerable for 3 seconds. Then if they survive those 3 seconds you use steel grasp/kick to make them vuln again
@@Odinataa i dont know... I still haven't seen the sword lol just bunch of chest uniques.... And 4 of those amulets... Oh, and 6 if 100000steps boots lol

Question - does your 2h weapon still have 12k thorns? and if you would imprint a new 2h weapon does it get 12k now? The reason I am asking is because for me it goes up to like 6.2k on my 2h weapon (I am using my codex).
I will have to check when I’m online, are you high level? It scales with your level. Me being 100 makes it really high but if you’re 100 too then they probably changed something
@@Odinataa I am lvl 85, there was some talk on other youtube channels that at lvl 85 the thorns number of this legendary aspect in the codex changes (other aspects with flat numbers also increases but not % based aspects). The hypothesis for this increase is that the game was initially supposed to have 5 difficulties and not 4 so it is scaling to higher numbers to keep up with a 5th difficulty that was never added. If you can still make the 12k thorns it means that the change might come after lvl 85 and not at 85.
@@cactuzdiablo-kp7dn Yeah I just checked and I still have the 12k thorns, yeah this is what I was saying a week ago or so. I noticed some of the codex stuff being way higher than it’s supposed to but yeah that makes sense that it could have been for WT5. It has been datamined after all
@@cactuzdiablo-kp7dn I don't think it was removed per say but actually going to be release as part of season 1. Then future world tiers will be slower to release.
Why walking arsenal if you only use one of the type? Unconstrained gives you +25% more dmg to your berserking. Which makes your berserking do 50% more dmg multiplicative.
Lol I do feel the nerfs, I was playing nonstop since launch. This is a basic attack build with barb so it isn’t going to go up to those super high levels most likely but I have managed to finish a tier 81 so far with it. Also got a tier 71 clear on my channel
If we’re being serious though, endgame isn’t only Nightmare 100. Endgame is anything over Tier 60 pushing your build to the limit, besides with your thinking technically Uber Lilith is the endgame. Not tier 100
Rage of harrogath is better for this build as it has a good mixture of thorns, survivability and damage for everything we use. Not just thorns, razorplate can be used too it’s just not as good for endgame as you lack the survivability

@@richardmenz3257 Ah ok, so what stat would you replace then? I don’t use damage to close atm
But even then I have my thorns applying bleed so it’s strange
Yeah you’re right, been doing more testing and it looks like Harrogath isn’t working with frenzy and that sucks
@@Odinataa Its such a shame, i really want Harrogath to work like the tooltip states - it would make more builds viable with it!
@@jasonvolkoff3147 Yeah for sure, I hope this is a bug and not how it’s intended to be. Since you brought this to my attention though I’ve been using razorplate for anything below tier 80 and tier 80 and above I use a god rolled legendary to get more survivability
Hi where is link to planner? It's dissapeard?
I'm about to use a similar build but replace Frenzy with Flay and use Dual Weild for Flay. The reason is: Flay does good bleeding damage and works well with thorn.
How do you think?
we just love frenzy and want to build around it, it's about fun, not about effection bro.
My gears is similar ot you except I can only get Min aspect of the Unique sword.
awesome build gg !!! it's good build for pvp ?
Thank you! Yes it’s very good for pvp, tough to beat Hota builds with it though but it easily beats everything else
Why walking arsenal when you only are using 1 sword attack? Glad to see someone else building around Frenzy with kick as a dump.
I love it. Make a writen veraion in d4builds bro
D4 Planner is up in the pinned comment. Glad you like the build
Hey m8 rlly waht to try this build out. Do u mind share youre D4 planner :D
thorns/kick build*
thx to share!
Not even close lol. Frenzy is being used most of the time, kick is for some burst on the really tough targets
@@Odinataa im agree with that you use Frenzy but it's not where your main dps Come from when i see your videos ( and the all other Frenzy build on YT). Im sad to not find a Real Frenzy build but it's cause of dev. Frenzy dont have thé respect it's diserve it on this version od Diablo.
But how i said thx to share yours.
@@Odinataa Hi, why not use flawless technique board in paragon ??
I’ll have to re-look thorns when I get into WT4.
are u playing season 2 ? they got a vampiric buff that makes ur basic attack do 160% more dmg and 15 % attackspeed
I am yes, going to be bringing out a new build soon
@@Odinataa im at lvl 78 and my lung strike ist criting for 120- 160 with more than 300%attackspeed and my Thorns do 80k dmg i did this build on my own but of course it needs some Upgrade but to be fair its my First time hittong 78 in diablo
smash smash smash RAAAA smash smash smash RAAAA
If no thorns only frenzy can work? dmg enough?
Yes, the reason I’m using thorns is for aoe. Frenzy alone doesn’t have much aoe so you’ll clear packs quite slow
@@Odinataa I got the Amulet with 11% as XD...
@@qoo7248 lol yeah well luckily that part of the amulet isn’t really important! I’m looking for one that has +4 ranks to frenzy
@@Odinataa the weapon state prio 1.str 2.cri 3.vol 4.basic right? need all states? ring no need echoing fury?
If I had to guess, I’d imagine you’re doing something with double swing which is funny because I was theorycrafting that last night
Yeah, double swing and the aspect of anemia. Disc is “themephs”. I think typing the full name of the app is getting my comments filtered, wth lol
Inexperienced new player here.
How are enemies constantly becoming Vulnerable even without the used of Kick or Steel Grasp?
Welcomee, I’m using the glyph exploit so when you first hit them they become vulnerable for 3 seconds. Then if they survive those 3 seconds you use steel grasp/kick to make them vuln again
@@Odinataa Thank you very much for such a quick and simple response. Subscribed.
I really wonder how much of difference it would make if you start using doombringer....
Does that sword even exist? Lol
@@Odinataa i dont know... I still haven't seen the sword lol just bunch of chest uniques.... And 4 of those amulets... Oh, and 6 if 100000steps boots lol
@@Odinataa
It exists see ruclips.net/video/HfmBsIvrhM4/видео.html
But the drop rates are so low they should really fix it because even if you grind all day you cannot get a full set of all unique is crazy
As you level up you need to reapply those codex to get the new nigher numbers
So hard to fine this thorn aspect. Grinding my life away can’t get it in t4
If you’re talking about the one where you get extra thorns while berserking, you wanna get that through the code of power
Why walking arsenal if you only use one of the type?
Unconstrained gives you +25% more dmg to your berserking.
Which makes your berserking do 50% more dmg multiplicative.
I tested this and it’s incorrect, the berserking is additive. The walking arsenal 10% damage was more damage by a decent amount
@@Odinataa is it really additive? i thought it maxed out @ 5 sec
@@samronyfauzi2974 The timer is fine, it goes up to 10 secs with the keystone but the 50% berserk damage is less than the 10% arsenal passive
@@Odinataa that just makes unconstrained absolutely terrible for anything. I saw reddit post says its multiplicative. This is confusing 😵💫
@@Odinataa one of my source said the berserking buff itself is multiplicative.
Dmg inc While berserking is additive.
walking arsenal without the full effect seems like a waste, interesting build though
tier 56 isn't late game bro :) Lets see some 80+ tier keys. Then you'll feel the unjustified nerfs Barb really got.
Lol I do feel the nerfs, I was playing nonstop since launch. This is a basic attack build with barb so it isn’t going to go up to those super high levels most likely but I have managed to finish a tier 81 so far with it. Also got a tier 71 clear on my channel
have you tried pvp with this build?
Yeah it’s very good, only build it has a hard time against is Hota
You’ll end up killing most people though with a well timed kick or thorns
So, you, the wildling, born as a warrior but still want to be a Rouge?
No! I’m in their faces brute forcing my way through while rogues hide in the shadows and poison out their foes!
this is not endgame which I called nightmare dungeon lvl 100. you fail
Lol, you got me
If we’re being serious though, endgame isn’t only Nightmare 100. Endgame is anything over Tier 60 pushing your build to the limit, besides with your thinking technically Uber Lilith is the endgame. Not tier 100
you don't have Razorplate...
I do have razorplate, but not using it.
Rage of harrogath is better for this build as it has a good mixture of thorns, survivability and damage for everything we use. Not just thorns, razorplate can be used too it’s just not as good for endgame as you lack the survivability
