I keep getting comments to relax on "the Reaves hype" but how can I, or should I say how can WE? He literally changes the game as soon as he subs in, MVP for todays game for a reason!

No other player on Team USA made it to the Western Conference finals last year. Austin Reaves is a big reason that the Lakers made it to the Conference finals, and respectfully, That's why he's one of the best players, if not the best player, on the US team right now.

Austin bringing back the 80s banging defense
I love how all 12 guys clearly like each other, are having fun, play as a team and are honored to represent their country. Kerr and his staff deserve a lot of the credit. They're playing great ball and are a joy to watch. They are completely atoning for the national embarassment of the narcissists on the USNWT last month.
It's not as amicable as it looks on the court.... BI, edwards, and JJJ are reportedly unhappy constantly and demanding more looks and minutes. Kerr don't give a shit tho cause he likes using new rotations. Thankfully the team is more than talented enough to play through it but if any of them keep it up its gonna be a falling out soon on team USA

It’s crazy because he averaged 18 5 5 his senior year at Oklahoma and no one scouted him but the lakers.
The thing about AR that I am amazed at is his poise, right now the game has slowed down for him and he is making all the right decisions and executing when it comes time to shoot! This new-look Lakers almost reminds me of the old Spurs where they would beat you with smart players as well as with their depth and the ability to make the smart open shots. All that's missing is A.D. and LeBron staying healthy.
We still need another back-up big for the 14th spot and a buyout player for the 15th spot.

Proving the haters wrong. They hate him just because he plays for the Lakers and think he’s overrated yet they don’t focus on his game. He gets praised from the coaches and other players get along with him easily. It’s all forced hate from the haters even though he’s clearly a good guy

This upcoming season is his last year on his contract. If he doesn't sign the $205 million contract extension, he'll be a free agent next summer. But of course, the Pacers can make him a RFA so that they can retain him no matter what.

In LA they wanted him off the bench to run the offense but he just played to well not to start. It's looking like the same thing here for team USA he needs to start he's standing out

If Austin Reaves continues he is destined to be NAMED IN SOME CIRCLES one of the greatest player to ever play. He will get the Larry Bird/Bill Walton treatment i.e., everything he does will be multiplied. He is good but everything he does will be as if he did triple as much
He has been phenomenal aside from his bad games against the Warriors in the playoffs every last of it he has been Mr.Consistent
Reaves is so smart with the ball he never forces anything , takes high quality shots and his ability to draw contact, get to the line/finish and-1s has to be the best for non-allstar player.

His shoes look like some straight 🔥 I only hoop in low tops so I was gone grab a pair and see what they was about but I had some repair bills come up so I missed out on the “Ice Cream Special”. My friend has a pair and says they’re very comfortable, have good cushion, grip & traction, also I see a lot of good reviews and feedback like foot doctor Zach and more. Should be a new drop this month and they retail at 100$.

Idk why they would attack him in the post. I would argue that great defense is one of his calling cards.
It's just bad play calls. From the exhibition games to the first round of the FIBA World Cup, teams have been putting their big guys in the post against Austin, and they rarely succeed.
Because they think he’s a liability on defense because of his athleticism compared to the rest of team USA , which they are mistakenly wrong he has sneaky athleticism and a great iq ,

Team USA I believe should still have that veteran presence to calm them down. They haven't been i a dogfight of a game yet. Hope they can add 2 or 3 vets (not necessarily superstars and don't command the ball).

Austin is Danny Ainge 2.0, and that’s a compliment. Most people in the chat only know Danny Ainge the Executive. Dude was a menace on the court in the 80s for Boston, and later for 90s Portland and PHX. Danny was a better athlete, but I’d say Austin plays smarter and less reckless than Danny did at times.

You take an amazingly smart and tough player with adequate physical tools, over a hyper athletic player with limited bball iq, every single time if you want to win. Reaves is simply the best player in terms of being conducive to winning. Smart, tough, efficient.

I don’t believe that Reaves is a great defender. Sometimes he is just overmatched by athleticism, size, or physicality. But he always participates on defense. And you can’t say the same about a lot of defenders in the league.
I kind of agree. Austin is not a great defender, but he is decent, and he is willing to play defense.
He’s not great but he is good enough and his iq makes up for his lack of athleticism he is also a really strong , but thankfully we have defense specialist in vando if he can get a consistent 3pt shot he’ll be a premier 3 & D player and give teams hell on both ends and help our offense with better spacing.
Lakers have a brighter future with AR - he will be the franchise player hehe hope so

that’s because everyone wants to be the guy instead playing team ball, especially Edwards and BI , happy the lakers got rid of him , he’s a great player don’t get me wrong but he plays to much iso and only is effective with the ball in his hand.
@@FamilyOvaEverythng I think this is where a lot of American players get flustered because of the FIBA system, they can’t get away with a lot of stuff they would in the NBA, hence why Kerr is closing games with Reaves and Portis instead of Brunson and BI.
Also FIBA players play collective defense and have solid defensive schemes so all this Iso game isn’t going to work unless your team is sold on giving you space for iso
@@CoconutxKimchi yea that’s true , it is more collective style of play offensively and defensively, and yea that makes sense being that Reaves and Portis are role players so they fit better in the game style and the more ball dominant players seem to struggle transitioning to this style of play. It intrigues me how every league and level fiba , nba , college , euro leauge how different of style of play, and the No defense 3-seconds makes it really makes tougher and they have to rely good perimeter play, shot making and transition, rather than just bully ball.

Your close to the rim for a rebound at free throws, would be nice if u can tap it away in the nba when it hits the rim
Goal tending rule. When the ball bounced off the rim once, it's free play. You can swat it out or dunk it in. In NBA that's goal tending. Ball must bounce AWAY the rim first for it not to be called GT.
