"Savia" from Soen's "Cognitive" album (2012).
Last time I covered this song was like, 2018. I didn't use one of the live videos where you can clearly see that Steve played this with a weird low C tuning while the rest of the bass is in standard. He did it so that he didn't have to hold this impossible chord during some parts. Later on there were videos of the new bassist playing Savia in his own way but both bassists show that the main riff is played with a lower octave, not around the 7th fret. That was my mistake when I transcribed it years ago. I think a lot of people wanted to see this so I'm glad I got to do a remake for Savia. New strings will make the delayed tone sound amazing. My strings are quite old by now so it didn't sound like the studio version. But I think it is still okay.

Discovered these guys only this year. Made a couple “we have TOOL at home” jokes until I dived deeper in. Awesome song choice and great tabbing man.
They really developed their own sound. But yeah, before that, it was basically Opeth + Tool lol

I did do Canvas as well, but true.. I'll see what I can do. The thing is, I obviously can't play any of the stuff he did with Death as it is just too difficult for me..

Great stuff as always! This album is fantastic for bass work in general, songs like Fraktal and Fraccions come to mind. Granted, it's all slightly tool-esque compared to their more unique later albums, but it's done well.
