I felt the same way when I first heard it. It actually makes so much more sense within the album. Which means: y’all should do a listening party because the album is so good

Song had me shook on first listen
FOR REALLLLL
In a typical ballad, even if there are rap parts, they normally take a backseat, appearing in pre chorus or what not. But in this song, the producer decided to have main verses in the form of rap rather than the normal melodic ones. Then followed by vocals in pre chorus and chorus. The norms flipped. I love this out of the box way of structuring a ballad. I’ve never heard another song like this. Kudos to the genius producer and nct that delivered it with perfection.
I love this song. It encapsulates the NCT musical ride. It makes me nostalgic and excited at the same time.
The song is a roller coaster but that is what I like about NCT. Their music doesnt sound boring after several listening. It's always feel like more than 2 songs in 1 but the transition is smooth and isnt annoyed. I feel hype but I also feel emotional understand the lyric and what they have been through this whole year. Rap line and vocal line go hard in their own part
I loved this reaction! Y'all were able to say what worked and what didn't for you while also understanding that this is what the whole concept of NCT is. We all know by now that it's rare for any NCT first listen to not be challenging. I agreed with all your comments because it's how I initially felt as well even though the song has grown on me since. I'd love to know what y'all would think of the album because it's an interesting mix (as with all NCT full member albums are). It'd be great if you have time for a listening party. Also, shout out to 1080p because she had me almost on the floor with that description!!!
I expecting that the music is going to be wild. To me Golden Age is phenomenal. But the whole album? Man the album is 5/5⭐️ for me

My guess is there are 3 old keychains with number 5, 8 and 10 ( 5+8+10=23 ).
Then they destroyed them and boom they got the new key that Mark Lee's holding it.
Maybe they told us that they are not 23 members anymore, this is new us, our golden age.
It's just my crazy thought. 😂
They also hv like 5 other mvs for this album. Bat and Kangaroo coming out today and Alley Oop and CallD tmr.

1080p hit the nail on the head! 😂 At first I didn't know whether I liked it or not, but I wanted moreeeeee. LMAO
The numbers on the keys were the numbers of their jerseys they wore in various performances. They chose the numbers themselves. With all the changes going on at SM and the loss of Lucas, I think they're showing that they're leaving the past behind (burning the keys) and turning "a new page". The music at the beginning (and the theme throughout the song) is from a Beethoven piano sonata, and when Beethoven was writing his music, it was considered the "Golden Age" of classical music.

I agree! The golden age hook did take me out a bit. The rap line destroyed and the singing was great but together it doesn't mesh as cohesively as I would like. I think I'd like it better as two separate songs
I think only after all these days I can listen to the hook and be okay with it, but yeah, on first listen I was like "TF is this..."
