hey gavin, I just want to say thanks. why am I saying that? well, I have watched and made notes on every single thing you went over and more. You have taught me how to use this sight very well. I've wanted to be a movie editor for about 3 years now and you have helped me make it possible. I have watched many of your videos and others from other creators on big special effects etc. thanks too you, I am now working for a company as a podcast/video editor (and im only 15). thank you for making my dreams possible :)
Bro! Thank you for creating this! I teach Premiere at the K-12 level and find your tutorial very useful. I will definitely refer my students to your channel for more in-depth information!
Loving the videos man. Doing gods work! I paid a lot of money schooling before dropping out, and you teach more about video editing before they ever did
I love the video man I keep coming back to it to remember some stuff, one of the best tutorials I've seen. I'm just starting out RUclips and all the video editing was really tough but this video made it a lot easier to get into for me so thanks a lot!
Just installed premiere pro and watched this video. Such a lifesaver for newbie like me. Wondering if there will be part 2 explaining on the after effects, or like Intermediate and Advanced courses tutorial. Thanks Gavin!
Thank you so much for this it really helped a lot, I'm currently a digital media major in college and I'm new to PremierPro and other editing apps. It's only our 4th week since we've started but I want to be able to get ahead of others lol, now I can surprise my classmates next time we do peer review feedbacks! I'll definitely look at more of your videos to learn more!
Could you do a more in depth guide next possibly? Really want to know some new editing styles and some psychology as to why the edit style works? If you did I reckon it would bang and would be useful for those of us who will watch it all the way through! 👍
I have considered this, and it's certainly in a good idea. I think there are a lot of people like you who would watch and take a lot from it. Just takes a ton of time on my end. I'll think about it 🤔
@@GavinHerman yeah man I do completely get that, maybe another project for you as the channel grows so it’s more worth your time. But when it drops me and others will be here to support it - I think your explanation of things is really great and consumable to people who aren’t as clued up. I’ve found with other deeper editing guides that they use terms the normal person getting into it may not understand however you make it a lot more clear. Appreciate your time man all the less.
@@GavinHerman your doing a a great job so far man, and your really helping me gain confidence to start my own channel with being able to edit well and skill fully, really excited for more content from you. So see you then 🙏🫡
Very detailed and informative course! Much better than LinkedIn Learning. I just purchased and download Premiere Pro 2025, so this has been a great way to get started. Thanks :D
What is the difference between production and project? I'm assuming projects can go under a production? I'm building a course and I assume the course would be the production and the modules would be the projects?
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm trying to get another software under my belt besides Avid Media Composer. One small thing: Unchecking the composition shutter angle and cranking the shutter to 360 actually didn't cause the Ellipse to freak out, at least on my end. Maybe it's been fixed since this video.
I am having trouble at 15:26 about cross dissolve. I want to apply cross dissolve at all once, but it only works out cross dissolve on the first clip to second clip. The other cross dissolve did not work out to clip 3 etc, how do you recommend I fix this issue. I appreciate the help.
Brilliant video man. I’m using a MacBook Air 2020. No where near as much GB as you mentioned but I’m still using premier pro. You think I should be fine?
@ 8GB with relatively simple editing and no other programs open might work out. I think my friend had 16GB but he was trying to do pretty intensive work and also using after effects from time to time
Im having trouble at 8:40, when I slide the coastline clip after the ravine clip the audio disappears and isn't on A1, Its just the film clip on the timeline panel, how do you recommend I fix this issue. I appreciate the help!
Nevermind! i fixed it! I selected the V1 on the other side of the lock on the V1 section and I unclicked it and it now drags audio and video just fine ☺
I have a question in Premiere, when I click on any option, for example Windows, and then go to its settings and change them, the open window is larger than my screen, as I changed the settings I needed, but I could not reach the OK word that is located at the bottom, because this window is larger than the laptop screen. I tried to make the windows that appear smaller, but I could not. Can you guide me to the method? The program is Adobe Premiere 2025
I am running Premiere Pro 22, but cant click on the 'FX keyframe'. It shows, but its not clickable. So I can only put one of those audio transition effects on my audio, but I cant adjust the effect. When I click the effect, I can type in manually the duration of the effect but can't slide it. Any tips? Thanks
