  • Dave Ivey (guitar, vocals) hails from Charlotte NC and began playing music and singing in choirs at a young age. While attending UNC Chapel Hill he formed The Conqueroots, a blues rock band, with fellow Chapel Hill musicians Steven Stewart and T Oakley. In 1998, Ivey and Stewart joined up with the rhythm section from Quarter Roy to form the Southern Groove Society, a band that saw regional success and enjoyed the stage with the likes of jambanders The Slip, fusion act Schleigho , and blues great Anson Funderburgh. Since 2002, Dave has continued to pursue music through a number of acts; most notably, the Carolina Blues Experiment, which has served as an umbrella title for numerous projects over the years that have included both live performance and soundtrack work.
James Ivy - (bass, vocals) A native of Ohio, has lived in North Carolina pretty much all his life. Always creative, first as an artist and later as a guitarist at the age of thirteen, he joined his first band in high school and has been playing music ever since. With over seventeen years writing, arranging, producing, and performing his own music, he has developed a distinctive style with a varied background in heavy metal, blue grass, rock, funk, and jazz.
Mark Duncan (guitar, vocals) is a native of NC and has developed his style by ear, incorporating his ecclectic influences into a melodic mix that contributes to diverse, dynamic live performances. 'Every show is different so i try and play it to fit the mood of the moment.'
Jeff Lindsey plays drums and samples. He is a former member of fusion group Smokin' Granny and improv group called Groove Stream Attractor, and the-nerve. Funk, Jazz Fusion and Improv... versatility is my name and keeping the booty movin' is my game.
