I love this and…..it so hilarious to see John sweating and nervous like a little school girl! Jocko is amazing human being and I’m glad you guys were able to pull this off!
You've both got such personality in front of the camera. It's really cool to see you guys humble, stumble and fumble your words when you meet him. You can see the genuine appreciation. Cool project guys.
In a word: GOOD. Awesome build! I love how Jocko responded to you... "Your books changed our lives"-- "YOU changed your lives". Humble to the core. And I thought I couldn't love your channel any more!
I have to say... my favorite part was John being so completely tongue tied and nervous when he meets Jocko. My 11-year-old looked EXACTLY the same when he got to meet John Cena. Exactly the same look and almost exactly the same ability to speak and think. You have to laugh when you realize even the biggest guy has someone that can make them turn into a little boy. You just have to love when guys of any age meet their hero/idol/mentor - it's a truly honest moment. Great stuff... and a great project. Thanks for sharing.
Argggh, as George Costanza would say, "My RUclips worlds are colliding!" John looked about as nervous as a kid asking out his first date - lol. GREAT build guys, Jocko was genuinely impressed.
Coming from a veteran that loves his country and loves what you do for the veterans, thank you brother! You really make me realize that people have not forgotten about us! Jocko and Matt are great people and they deserve to be put at the forefront!
I love that although these guys have a tendency to arse something up in their projects, they always find some way to make it right, no matter how huge the mistake. Gotta praise that resiliency.
These guitars are coming out better and better. My recommendation for next on your list is Adam Savage. Maybe not a guitar, but hell, why not. A resin guitar filled with miniatures of films he’s worked on, or pieces of old “artifacts” from Mythbusters. He’s impacted so many people, myself included, with his films, his shows, and his RUclips series. He’s the reason why I am not afraid to dive head first into any type of project in front of me. Keep up the great work!
Exactly and all the pressure of having single piece of material to work on. How about a John Malecki tool bag collection with all your catchy tag lines and witty captions... hahahaha. Thank you
I love all you guys and you always make me laugh out loud! I loved seeing the humanity John shows when talking to Jocko, I can relate to that nervous energy. you were great in that moment!!
Little nervous there John? I'd be the same way it was actually really cool and felt very genuine seeing that interaction. Completely awesome y'all got this opportunity.
Dude, Jocko looks like he was practicing beating the crap out of you in his mind when you first met. Very intimidating man. This was one of my favorite videos.
Screwed up our epoxy pour?!?! GOOD, now we’re gonna get a chance to try again and be better😅 Awesome job guys! Enjoyed the video and build! Awesome to see a legendary build for a legendary man🇺🇸
You guys are awesome. Your willingness to try things that you have never done with irreplaceable materials for an idol, is beyond inspirational. You guys , definitely, “punched today in the face”. Well done, and thanks for the motivation!
Epic. Jocko is everything you’ve said to many, great job passing it forward. The craftsmanship in this work is fantastic. The build, idea, workmanship and delivery are the bomb. Bravo Zulu.
That was awesome!!!! I’ve never heard of Jocko before but now I am going to check his stuff out!! This is so cool!!! Above and beyond as always guys!!! Big inspiration!!
Sam and John have loads of experience talking to the camera and to fans and teaching people how to do things in the maker world and John's probably had his fair share of fans coming up to him doing the "stuttery/scared/nerves/this is my all time idle" voice from when he played football, but it's so cool how they both go straight into that scared little fan mode that must be built into our DNA or something. The reason I think it was cool is that it shows that no matter who you are and what your life experience is, there is always this little person inside you that has a pin up poster of this awesome hero that they would do anything to meet. You guys rock!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Woouuw. See a big man babbling like a nervous wreck Show me as a german who don't know s... about Jocko, what kind of guy he is... Fun to watch and i really love to see John hug Jordan...
The most likely reason for the one particular layer of resin not hardening is probably because it wasn't mixed or ratio'd properly. Also, when doing multiple layers like that, instead of waiting until the prior layer fully cures and then scuffing it, it's actually better/easier to pour the next layer when the prior layer is still tacky. Better adhesion between the layers and you won't end up with lines.
I hope this doesn’t sound stupid, but you asked for ideas so here it goes. My best friend and I were in the Marines together, we deployed twice together. I got out a few years ago, but he became an Army officer. He recently was deployed to Afghanistan but had to come home early due to his mothers passing. I really want to do something nice for him. I was thinking about a coffee table shadow box. Wondering if you could do some plans with that Malecki flare we know and love.
Absolutely legendary video guys. Super Pumped you got to meet him. Great work as usual. Side note, this RUclips Channel is mostly responsible for my decreased productivity while working at home. Keep up the good work boys.
Awesome build guys. it’s cool to see all my favorite content creators coming together, I know rogan mentioned putting snoops roaches in resin and jocko was just on his podcast, that would be great.
When laminating epoxy, it's best to scuff the top of the layer that you are pouring onto. This gives the epoxy something to bond to and should help prevent delamination.
Love your videos guys! Everyone is hilarious! I would write a whole paragraph about my sister but I’ll just say she’s amazing and deserves something special!
Congratulations boys on this project. Awesome video. Really love how it turns out. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Keep making. Stay squirrely. God bless.
Outstanding job on the guitar guys. John i was going to say if you send me the Weaver stuff I would gladly do any and all your leather needs. However you did an amazing job with the case. Again out standing work boys.
Adam Savage has been the person I’ve looked up to sense I was a little kid he’s inspired me to be a maker and not be afraid to mess up because messing up is just learning.
Totally dope project guys. My only recommendation might be to get back to doing the projects for local Veterans. Can't wait to see the next one boys. Let's Go!
Beautiful build bros 🔥🔥🔥 wish I could of watched your live chat you recently did 😔 sadly I was working. But love seeing your new vids (even your old videos I keep re watching). Keep up the amazingnes and can't wait for more videos. 😎
You guys have the skills to do it so I would love to see you guys build a guitar from scratch. Maybe some thing in the style a Fender Telecaster or Esquire. Do your thing and make it awesome! Just an idea.
Somewhat new to the channel. How about hearing more of your football journey/career? Maybe do something for a coach that helped you on your football path? Junior High, High School, College all of the above? Love your channel! Humor, editing. ..all of it is top notch!
Awesome job , Just an Idea how about a bowling ball. Haven't really seen any being made. I have a very good friend who likes to bowl and I have been looking for something unique for him. He is always there for me when I need him no questions asked. He gives and gives and gives without expecting anything in return. He's been my personal mechanic, carpenter, plumber, shrink ;) and most importantly the very best friend anyone could ask for.
Nothing to do with off-gassing, resin will set underwater if mixed in the correct ratios. The problem is you did not mix all of the separate layers to the same ratios and would not have used enough hardener and it will take quite a bit of heat to force it to cure, you could put it in an oven at 60°c for a few hours and it may force a full cure. Also if you allow the resin to get too cold during the cure it can stall and never go beyond the rubbery phase.
It’s probably a long shot in the dark, but in the short time I’ve been watching the channel I’ve watched probably almost all your videos! I love the work you do and have been more interested in wood working, I’m so used to turning wrenches but maybe this would be a change of pace for me, anyhow not sure how much it would cost me, but I’m trying to see about getting somethin built for my family since my dad, my sister, and myself are volunteer firefighters, if you’re up for a cool build I’d like to see what you can do with the firefighter themed!
Absolutely badass gents!!! Next you guys should make a military retirement gift for a random service member!!! Too many guys get "just ok gifts" for their retirement. I've made a bunch of custom gifts for guys. It always great seeing a service member light up to something hand made just for them!!! If you guys need idea's let me know??? Im a former Green Beret and my goal is to become a full time maker. I love your content!!!
I installed a custom hardwood floor for the guy that created the Vanhalen design. He also did the artwork for the Michael Jackson thriller album and he created the logo for home alone. He was a pretty chill guy with some epic stories
Hey John, 4x worlds strongest man Brian Shaw would be a great candidate to collaborate with. The guy is full of positivity and is making big things happen. I think that would be awesome to see you guys work together on something
With the SG pickup wiring tunnel to the volume and tone pots and again to the jack; consider using heat shrink tubing, like you see with electrical wiring's insulation, as like a placeholder bc alot of products for electric wiring I've used have a shrink temp of 70° to 115°C (158° to 239°F). Well above the 20° to 25°C ambient room temp. and maximum temp. during the exothermic reaction of the epoxy resin's hardening process. I think they're made out of either rubber or like a polyurethane mixture either way even if it gets stuck to the epoxy you could stick a is heated metal rod through to shrink it. Actually the weight of the resin could colapse the tubing so maybe already have the metal rod in place when you pour, with something else disposable to fill the gap between the two like a straw. I wouldn't recommend cutting the length of wire off the and just putting it in position before the pour bc each end would increase the number of points of signal degradation and potential loss of signal if a single wire connection becomes dislodged with the beating guitars often take over the years its all but inevitable. Just a thought
I love this and…..it so hilarious to see John sweating and nervous like a little school girl! Jocko is amazing human being and I’m glad you guys were able to pull this off!
Right! He’s so nervous lol
He legit got nervous when Jocko said, "what are you doing talking to my daughter". Can't say I blame him haha. Great pieces, great video.
Love the little shivers in Johns voice talking to Jocko. Beautiful build guys!
6:50 "Jordan did a great job", nice! That should be the next shirt design.
I like it
how awesome is that, when Jocko said, "you changed your lives" when John talked about the books changing their lives. epic
You've both got such personality in front of the camera. It's really cool to see you guys humble, stumble and fumble your words when you meet him. You can see the genuine appreciation. Cool project guys.
The fact that Jocko is looking up to talk to John is wild… guys a monster
In a word: GOOD.
Awesome build! I love how Jocko responded to you... "Your books changed our lives"-- "YOU changed your lives". Humble to the core.
And I thought I couldn't love your channel any more!

Everyone gonna get caught up in the reveal and miss Jordan getting complimented at 6:50. Good work Jordan!
But also, super fun to see John fangirling.
I believe it was Opposite Day that day in the shop. But thank you! I was very nervous
I love that although these guys have a tendency to arse something up in their projects, they always find some way to make it right, no matter how huge the mistake. Gotta praise that resiliency.
Haha

1up the vote for Adam Savage, he loves creator to creator gifts and I think that would be an awesome collaboration.
hell yea
I’ve never heard John display so much respect in my life. 😂😂😂
I have never heard of Joko, but it was fun watching John be so nervous talking to him! lol
Im sooo impressed that john managed to sew a nice leather case and it looks so well made
Its an 8ft leather bag.... haha
Exactly and all the pressure of having single piece of material to work on. How about a John Malecki tool bag collection with all your catchy tag lines and witty captions... hahahaha. Thank you
Completely awesome to do something like that for an American hero.... I like the respect you all paid him, and how humble he is...
Shout out to the Stout Squad: Warren, Logan, Mike and everyone else! Love them all!
Great project.
I love all you guys and you always make me laugh out loud! I loved seeing the humanity John shows when talking to Jocko, I can relate to that nervous energy. you were great in that moment!!
Huge Jocko and John Malecki and Co. fan here. Thanks for your work too John, Sam, and Jordan
Little nervous there John? I'd be the same way it was actually really cool and felt very genuine seeing that interaction. Completely awesome y'all got this opportunity.
Let’s goooo!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
there is one good thing about the material, you can see where you are drilling and you can see straight away whether it is going to be good or bad 😉
Dude, Jocko looks like he was practicing beating the crap out of you in his mind when you first met. Very intimidating man. This was one of my favorite videos.
This is incredible! I am a huge fan of yours, John, and a huge fan of Jocko too! This is a meeting of two worlds and I love it!
Very cool project. It was cool seeing the genuine reaction to meeting someone you idolize.
Screwed up our epoxy pour?!?! GOOD, now we’re gonna get a chance to try again and be better😅 Awesome job guys! Enjoyed the video and build! Awesome to see a legendary build for a legendary man🇺🇸
A great video, as always. Thank you John and the team!

I’m free tomorrow
You guys were like little kids talking to your hero and I know that feeling all too well!
Last build in the old shop. Good times. Nice work fellas.
Woouuw. See a big man babbling like a nervous wreck Show me as a german who don't know s... about Jocko, what kind of guy he is...

Proud father son moment

Terrific build. I love the content and it’s awesome to see you guys put yourselves out there like that.
its heartwarming to see a giant so flustered.
Love this build and idealize Jocko as well. Man y’all should make an epoxy wine glass with Jets gear for Gary Vee!
Absolutely legendary video guys. Super Pumped you got to meet him. Great work as usual. Side note, this RUclips Channel is mostly responsible for my decreased productivity while working at home. Keep up the good work boys.
Favorite video so far!! Keep it up guys!
It's so wholesome how star struck John gets around people
FANTASTIC work, guys! It turned out amazing! 😃
Really well done!!!
Stay safe there with your families! 🖖😊
This is amazing man
One of your better projects guys! Aboslutely ♥️ it!
Awesome build guys. it’s cool to see all my favorite content creators coming together, I know rogan mentioned putting snoops roaches in resin and jocko was just on his podcast, that would be great.
Very cool. Good job guys!
How cool is that. Jocko is awesome. Glad he liked the guitar. Extreme Ownership is a book every leader should read.
You guys should do one for Gary sinise. That guy has done a ton for us veterans.

Thats what they did...
Love your videos guys! Everyone is hilarious! I would write a whole paragraph about my sister but I’ll just say she’s amazing and deserves something special!
Anyone else notice Johns voice got deeper when he met Jocko
I love how nervous John gets when he's talking to his idol🤣
Three of my favorite things: guitar, woodworking and Jocko. Fuck yes!
Now this is a cool collab
Brought a happy tear to my eye seeing this, hell yeah 👍
Legend has it Jocko wake's up the morning
Jordan got a hug today!
Jordan cried that day too
I love Jocko! Dude needs to run for president! Not kidding!!
Jocko for the win. the guitar turned out amazing guys! 👏
Adam Savage has been the person I’ve looked up to sense I was a little kid he’s inspired me to be a maker and not be afraid to mess up because messing up is just learning.
Awesome build. Love this channel. I learn tons from y'all.
What a cool project ! I could sense the emotion when u talked to Jocko in person and I understand it 100%;D
Totally dope project guys. My only recommendation might be to get back to doing the projects for local Veterans. Can't wait to see the next one boys. Let's Go!
Out of the GODDAM PARK, John. You guys squirreled the hell out of this. Fantastic work, Jocko is freakin amazing!
Hell, I was nervous when y’all were talking with Jocko lol. Great work guys!
When the cool dudes meet a cooler dude. 😎
Awesome project, awesome that those personal belts were used!
Beautiful build bros 🔥🔥🔥 wish I could of watched your live chat you recently did 😔 sadly I was working. But love seeing your new vids (even your old videos I keep re watching). Keep up the amazingnes and can't wait for more videos. 😎

Do a Cajun Two Step Logo sign in epoxy for Stalecracker. Maybe backlight the epoxy. Lets get it dude!
Hi John, great video as always. Just a quick question, why did you use a wooden mold instead of silicone one (like the last guitar)?
This is amazing! Y'all killed it!
Somewhat new to the channel. How about hearing more of your football journey/career? Maybe do something for a coach that helped you on your football path? Junior High, High School, College all of the above? Love your channel! Humor, editing. ..all of it is top notch!
John Malecki getting nervous around Jocko Willick, and he's like taller than Willick. Genuine appreciation and respect.
David Goggins man, that dude changed my whole outlook on life.
Same here man. Can’t hurt ME!
Cool project! Love to see more of these types of videos!
It's cool that even you get nervous meeting one of your idols
Love this so much!
Good job!!

Eddie would be proud!!! Well done guys!!!!
Jocko is the man 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 great team up
Heck Yea!
“Would you say build back? No we’re not building anything, that’s right wrong channel”😂💀💪🏽

Do a bass guitar for Mark Hoppus of Blink 182. He just beat cancer and has changed some many lives with his music.
"Jordan did a great job" - am I even watching John Malecki anymore?
Love this channel. Thanks for doing what you do
I installed a custom hardwood floor for the guy that created the Vanhalen design. He also did the artwork for the Michael Jackson thriller album and he created the logo for home alone. He was a pretty chill guy with some epic stories
John + Jocko = Badassery 👌
Hey John, 4x worlds strongest man Brian Shaw would be a great candidate to collaborate with. The guy is full of positivity and is making big things happen. I think that would be awesome to see you guys work together on something
Cool looking. Would putting a sealed tube in the position of the wires needed work ?
Good idea
