One of your next tomato plants should be called MLT.
This is why I love your channel, you do a variety of things. Now you must do a video on how to prevent deer from eating tomato plants lol
Keep them inside a fence with a dog. Dog pee is not great for the bottom leaves but the deer stay away.
Check with a guy named Winchester.
it'll just be a giant mouse trap
How to trap a deer video. JK that is illegal unless it is hunting season and your own yard.
Shawn I love this kind of stuff! You have such a pure lifestyle and it’s awesome to watch.
Biggest tomato I've grown was somewhere around 3.5lbs. It was a beefsteak variety that megabloomed. It wasn't as ugly looking, but it was big. When I cut it open, it had a lot more meat in it than a normal beefsteak tomato and about half the seeds
SHAWN Nicely done . That is one big tomato . Keep
up the great work . I sure learned some new ticks to grow
Thank you :-))
This is one of the reasons why your channel is an inspiration to me. You basically do what I do, just share the things you find interesting and fun with the world. I'm glad you're still actively posting (: keep up the great work man
Love the gardening content!
I love that you're branching out into a variety of new content!
Love your videos send a couple seeds my way lol thanks for the info
Love this video ♥️
I always love the gardening videos and whatever else you and the Woods family are up to. Good luck with the tomato's this year!
Yess!! I miss these kinds of videos as well as your hunting and cooking videos ❤ 😊
Awesome video!!!
Awesome commitment to quality. You waited a whole year to present a great video.
Some more vids with gardening tips would be awesome! Thanks much!
This is pretty cool, friend I've never met 🙂 While I don't want to try growing one these monstrosities myself, I have had a related happy plant experience: one of my waratah dwarfs produced a bunch of fasciated flowers, giving me classic large "heirloom" type tomatoes, seeds from which continued to produce the same kind in turn. It has been really fascinating to see the geometric congruences in physical structure of solanaceae fruits, wild and domestic.
Love the new direction!🍅
This is great! I would love to have some big tomatoes like that .... Great Work! :)
I love all the subjects you post
I like yellow pear & red cherry's .. great flavor
😮Wow, that's amazing. I love this. ❤
I enjoyed this. Telescoping the garden adventure is fun!
SUPER interesting! - Thanks! - Cheers!
Someone I follow on tumblr maintains that tomatoes are ornery buggers and have to be a little bit abused to grow their best. So when the deer ate the top off Ketchup, its growth was probably partially spurred by the desire for revenge. 😄 "Eat my top? I'll show YOU. Take THIS!" Cue: one gigantic ugly tomato. 😂 I like these kinds of videos too... you are truly a man of many talents.
Good work, i like mtm gardening videos.
I would love progress vids on your various plants. It would be cool to root for a plant and see its progress in real time. I was rooting for Pizza Sauce but apparently it failed lul.
Awesome vid!
Shawn I really hope you try again next season. Awesome video I loved watching it!
First rodent catching, now gardening? Im so excited for more 😎🤙
Great video Shawn!
Deer and rabbits would destroy my garden of I didn't have a fence. I have been composting and building the soil for 25 years. Unfortunately, I have root nematodes now. No way to eliminate them. A spring and fall garden is all I can do.
"Shawn Woods" : you live up to your family name. I learn so much about the outdoors watching your channel. Thank you for all you videos.
Thinking pizza sauce. Hope they come out better looking though. 😝
Wonderful video! Please keep doing gardening videos!
I always get volunteer tomatoes every year from the fruit I can’t quite harvest quickly enough.
What was the point of letting it rot in your fridge for a year?
good job Shawn, what a tomato and i all so see you are almost at 2,0M Subscribers , good for you, thank you and good luck
Daaamn. That tomato went full Tetsuo.
I can’t imagine these monster tomatoes would taste good.
I love how the biggest ugliest tomatoes are often the tastiest ones. I grew a two pound tomato awhile back and it was kind of ugly but it was probably the tastiest tomato I ever tried.
Shawn!! I want the music back at the very end.
This one is for all those people who say "Sure must be easy, making a living just videotaping mousetraps once a week." Obviously Shawn isn't a lazy man.
wow
The John Merrick of the tomato world. Never seen one like that before.
_I am not a nightshade. I am an edible fruit!_
My suggestion is to border your garden with a plant called nicotiana to protect from wildlife and pest insects.
There are many varieties with many colors and they benefit pollinators.
I had no idea that two tomato blossoms could fuse together.
That tomato might have benefited from the deer eating the plant... If you damage a flower the fruit can partially split in two.
Either way, that's a wacky tomato breed! Very big!
I’m pulling for BLT.
I would like to see more content like this in this channel, but at the end, you should eat some of it. Maybe a kind of bet: if the winner was the one for pizza sauce, then make a pizza using that tomato.
FACT: native deer mice love free tomatoes and get out of moustrap passes 🙂
I can appreciate the size of those tomatoes, but... Well, let's just say they are never going to win a beauty pageant. Are huge tomatoes and normal looking tomatoes mutually exclusive?
I dunno about these mutant, “mega-blooms”. Not surprised that the shock to the plant cause it to push more energy into fruiting tho 👍🏻
This is better than the ordinary repetitive videos.
Just as with Strawberries and a lot of other fruits, The larger the relative scale of the fruit the blander the taste.
What a rollercoaster video, in a Luke 13:8 kind of way.
"Kill me" 😊
Are the large ones edible?
how do they taste?
Terrible
is any of that tomato edible?
Great video which must have taken a lot of patience but Shawn, why did you leave a rotting tomato in your fridge for a year😳?
thought this was photo owl for a second
Anyone else getting Attack of the Killer Tomato vibe?
I used to have a backyard garden but the squirrels would destroy everything. 😭
🍅🍅🍅
Did you used to have a lissssppp?
Looks like an Eldrich horror. A trypophobe's nightmare.
Interesting video. . . I'm disappointed to learn the largest tomatos are really multiples that grew together. I wonder what the largest, halfway pretty, single tomato is?
They look like Brandywine tomatoes! The world's ugliest AND tastiest tomatoes. Yummm ... lol. I have been growing Brandywines for about ten years, saving my seeds from the previous year for this year's crop. I have a small greenhouse, and live on Vancouver Island and have a longer growing season than many North American locations. Nothing like home grown tomatoes, and heritage tomatoes can't be beaten!
Pizza sauce
Great for having sauce al winer long.
I prefer Roma over any type.'
At 2:11 my vote goes for pizza sauce
pretty sure i fought that thing in the binding of isaac
I think big tomatoes are terrible! Above all, as we all know, they are very dangerous, as you could see in the documentary 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes'! But joking aside ..... I actually don't like the usual big supermarket tomatoes because they are big red water bag fruits with no flavor, I prefer cherry or date tomatoes. They are full of flavor and taste and they are convenient to eat and last a long time.
That’s a tomato? Gives me trypophobia
You need to clean out your fridge more often.
I'm kinda confused... why would You grow something that looks so horrific?
Are they even edible with all those mutant folds?
What do You do with SO many tomatoes? Do You also have a farmers market business in Your 'spare' time?
WOW! You are an incredible, industrious man. LORD continue to bless & prosper You & Yours in all You do!
It's for fun, like growing the largest pumpkin, or largest sunflower.
That's not edible, it's just a hobby.
@@volvo09 Thank You for the info. Have a great spring day! (where I live anyway) 🤪😍
How did you stop pests eating the tomato? Birds eat my cherry tomatoes all the time.
*This should give you a good idea of how much radiation your location is getting hit with.*
*Hail 5G and Geoengineering the Weather.*
*Call that your Godzilla Tomato.*
Who else is watching shawn while they at work
😊
Have a good shift!
I'm glad I'm not the company You allegedly 'work' for... 🤨
@@PinkLady54 ok yeah cool
@@PinkLady54guess you can't multitask and your company must really care about you.
I'm cheering for BLT. ;-)
Mmmmm a rotten tomato 🍽
"so beautiful" 😐
came from a Space Pod just Say-in
no trap video today :(
He tries to change it up from time to time which is cool
bro that looks like cancer in the wild
It may not have the biggest, but it sure was the ugliest.
As always Shawn, gloves Shawn, gloves. Protect yourself and your family. ;-)
Oh, give it a rest. You aren't his mommy.
@@Flip86x is it your channel? Are you in charge? Are you 3?
@@Flip86x 2 rules of business you need to learn. "Mind your own" and "It's none of your."
@@tpl608exactly... so why are You trying to be in Shawn's all the time.
If You don't have anything nice to say, maybe just don't...??
@@tpl608 Says the guy telling a grown man what to do on HIS channel. 😂
BLT
Based purely on looks, that's one ugly tomato. Hopefully it tasted better than it looks.
well... seems it was too ugly & warty to eat as we see it a yr later after rotting in the frig.
They must really have a big frig they get in the crisper even less than I do.
That's a miracle right there! 😂🤣😂
Nice toms Shawn but what do they taste like?
That tomato looks absolutely disgusting!
