Auturo Sandoval performing this most eligant and truly a masterpiece of music is by far the best rendition of all. The others are nice but Arturo's beautiful way of playing and the background on the organ blends into music never to be forgotten. While listening I always gets a mood of total relaxation that lasts the entire day. Rodney Cushing, Salt Lake City, Utah
pretty decent?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! are you kidding me? have you heard him play it with the GRP All star big band backing him up?? you're out of your mind if you think he's only (pretty decent!!!!)
Arturo Sandavol is performing the most eligant rendition and it is a masterpiece of music and by far the best rendition ever recorded. The others are nice but Arturo's beautiful way of playing and the organ accompanying blends into a perfect recording. While listening most every day it gets me in a mood of complete relaxation for the entire day. Rodney Wayne Cushing, SLC, Utah
It is refreshing/amazing/encouraging to see Arturo playing from his heart instead of playing TO the masses who slop up high notes like trash thrown to hogs.
Im sorry to say it but Freddie plays this 100000000 times better then this guy. I also think this tune fits better with trumpet. but thats just my thoughts,,,
If you are a trumpet player that truly appreciates Clifford, it isn't too surprising to cry playing this tune. Check out Roy Hargrove's video of this. A beautiful rendition of this tune is very moving.
O.K. so he's not Lee Morgan or Freddie, but it's still lovely, and frankly I'd give my left ball to be able to play this well. Accept it for what it is: damn good!
they all play it well, uniquely in their own interpretation with their own emotional inflection, that's what makes it so diverse and itneresting to listen too. clifford brown greatly respected by all. true jazz great.
God bless your soul, Arturo, it's in your trumpet at the moment. It cries, it grieves, it flies after the one who's gone.

No doubt this is the best version I've ever heard of this song! It sounds so beautiful...

In this song Arturo don't play the trumpet with the lips and breathe... he play's with the heart!!! Sorry my english is not good
NikoBoss you made your point well
Its plenty good my friend

Arturo doesn't know it but I'm his secret apprentice
It’s only right that it’s done on a flugel
It sounds to me like he's recounting his favorite memories of the man. It feels so personal and intimate.
at minute 3:27 I can see the tears slide, great interpretation,en el minuto 3:27 puedo ver las lagrimas caer ,grandiosa interpretacion.
i absolutely agree you friend! peace!
What passion Arturo Sandoval put into this tribute. I know he was a true lover of Clifford Brown; me too.
Belo.
very beautiful - top of the top !
Buah, espectacular, no he oído jamás interpretación similar
Impeccable performance by el maestro Sandoval...
Heartbreaking !

The skill and articulation Arturo has when playing low notes and high notes without blasting, is just amazing.
Just remember Clifford Brown. One of the worlds finest trumpeters I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
When you are right, you are right...who cares who is a better player? They both have talent, and can box put on a great show.

💕💕
I saw Arturo in Rio de Janeiro. Complete musician.
i really prefer him playing this way, than giving soo many notes, it allows for more emphasis on each note choice

i say freddie hubbard does it better than both lee morgan and arturo sandoval.
what a sound wow really incredible... and his interpretation is insidefull and full of love..Clifford was amazing..thanks arturo its wonderfull
I would say the best youtube version for me is roy hargrove. Have yet to hear it done better.
@orjazzmicintentions I agree. Roy Hargrove's rendition is the best I've heard. I never tire of it.
Great place to listen when you are playing this yourself
Wonderful soul so beautiful the horn is outstanding
he sweating not crying, he crying cus he sweating.
LIKE FING DUH
it's called a flugelhorn
Niko YES - great point!! A LOT of ♥. You are doing fine.
Arturo is crying.........
@jerec576 that made me laugh so loudly for no reason
I seem to hear a bit of "Old Folks" in this tune...
Superb. Sublime.
The fluegel. Great choice.
hes not playing a trumpet!
When is this from? What year?
Excelente
So so wonderful
OH... nice...
check out Lee Morgan's arrangement it is by far the best of them all
Dittos to you, Mr. Brown.
sweat
素晴らしい!
Maybe it was the miking, but Sandoval needs more punch and presence for this lovely piece. His performance is too withdrawn.
Arturo is good. But for me its ruined as soon as the electronic keyboard plays. rather hear, freddie or lee do it than Arturo anyday.
Clifford Brown or Freddie Hubbard are the best versions.
