  • Communications Providers are currently in the process of upgrading their customers from the existing analogue PSTN network to new IP-based services. Telephone sockets are being replaced with Smart Routers to better support the demands of today’s consumers, their smart devices, apps and the Internet of Things (IoT). This means PSTN-based alarms will fail and need to be upgraded.
    The change will affect anything that currently plugs into the existing analogue telephone wall sockets, including Fire & Security signalling systems, Telecare Dispersed Alarms and Lift Alarms.     In Canada, the current complaint is that security networks that rely on 2G or 3G phone will be cut off, as those are discontinued in favour of 4G & 5G. No matter what tech changes, there will always be someone to complain about it!
