I've practice some Systema with Vasiliev himself, so I think I can understand it a bit, I'm not an expert of course, but when I see RUclips videos, it's always show at very slow speed, I'm really wondering if it's effective in 'real'... at full speed. I' m also doing Yosekan Budo and Krav Maga...
because nobody has shown you how to use. When you know the why, you understand that it's not only elementary training for beginners, it's exactly the fight way.
Nice but in reality a boxer or a good fighter, recall his arm really fast... He is not punching and letting his arm deployed. (Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Belgium).
Александр Тертычный Let me help Hsound - you have no idea what you are talking about. This is a basic demonstration of the type of physiodynamics employed in Systema. You train slow but once it becomes muscle memory it is almost instinctive. It does not matter how fast the boxer punches as he will only encounter air. It very short sighted to criticize a system which you have not personally experienced or trained in..
You are right Hsound! By the way what is shown here is a jab not a hook. Also the Boxer is tense and controled so he isnt that manipulable with these fancy deflection moves. And he is quick and agile on his legs. The Systema guys are in Aikido like phantasy island ;)
Mike Tyson slips punches really well ... I think that is better and more practical. Systema is more a philosophy of life and a good one, because it is concealed. However there are many things in life, like Mike Tyson and a gun, which Systema is not going to be effective at.

What's with the "Strip-dance" in the sign on the far wall?
Websearch magnet for yanks.
Outside of elementary training, I HATE the "punch-step" attacks, as they are structurally slow and street-wise unrealistic.
