Schuyler Sisters was the first song I ever listened to, then you'll be back, then my shot, and then like during online learning some time march I see a hamilton full soundtrack video on my home page and I'm like. Well, I'm Aussie so we haven't even had Hamilton here yet (waaaahhh!) but first heard My Shot 3 years ago at the height of the Hamilcraze. This is so perfect! Four years ago when I heard this show for the first time, I watched this video that same day. Now, four years later, I just saw Hamilton live in San Francisco and your video came up again! What a beautiful cycle! This was the first video I saw of yours and have loved your content ever since.
Alternate steps: 1) See Lin on SNL. Think his rap is absolutely epic, so you go and listen to Hamilton. 2) LIsten to it on youtube mostly skipping the songs about his personal life because "that's been done before, right?" 3) Spend 6 weeks memorizing most of the non-personal life songs, and avoiding the second half of the show completely (except for "one last time" and the rap battles because duh) because you hated seeing how his life was going downhill, and you know how it ends. 4) Spend those 6 weeks trying desperately to get friends and family to even listen to it because you know they'd love it, but no one will even listen to it. 5) Get the Hamilton soundtrack for Christmas. Listen to the ending in the car on the way home from work 2 days later and have to pull over because you are crying and can't see the road. Love Eliza in the last song so much that you decide you need to listen to the rest of it. 6) Like 6 hours and 3 listens later you decide you are the biggest idiot EVER for having skipped Eliza's stuff. Spend the next week memorizing all of Eliza's solos, and the week after memorizing from "your obedient servant" all the way to the end 7) Go looking for karaoke videos on youtube and find the "sing with me" versions that the fabulous Kristen Ryan made, and realize you can learn all of the harmonies that way. Proceed in doing so. 8) Look up every video of Lin-Manuel Miranda that ever existed. 9) Every time you get in the car, pull up the playlist of karaoke tracks to sing to, insisting on sounding as professional as possible, matching the original performers' emphasis and breath marks. 10) Realize that you you have memorized more that 3/4 of the musical. Feel like it's the greatest thing you've done all year, but STILL be unable to share it with your closest friends, because they still won't even listen to it (classical musicians, what can you do?) So you go around playing/singing it to LITERALLY anyone who will listen. Sigh.... this is my life!
Kelsey O'Connell this is great! Before my husband and I got married, my husband worked in another city for a year. The first time I listened to the complete soundtrack was on my three hour drive out to see him. I must have looked like a hot mess because by the end of it I was sobbing. I looked forward to the drives back and forth to see him because I could listen/sing along to the whole thing uninterrupted.

I'm *too* obsessed. -I accidentally called James Madison "JemmyJames" in class today -Went on a 20 minute rampage when I realized neither John Laurens nor Hercules Mulligan get so much as a FOOTNOTE in the Social Studies book -Pointed out that Hamilton spoke for 6 hours at the Constitutional Convention and wrote 51 essays in like 6 months when the Social Studies book didn't specify -Vigorously pointed at the name "Marquis de Lafayette" in the book and yelled *EVERYONE GIVE IT UP FOR AMERICA'S FAVORITE FIGHTING FRENCHMAN!* in the middle of class -Started singing "The Schuyler Sisters" in class because 'Common Sense' by Thomas Paine was mentioned. -Pointed out that a map of the battles of the Revolutionary War was wrong because the Battle of the Combahee river wasn't included though it technically counted even though the war was over by then. -Was the only one who knew which person was Thomas Jefferson in a picture of the editing of the Declaration of Independence. -Literally half of the class came to me asking for answers on Social Studies homework because I finished it in 8 minutes because of Hamilton lyrics. This is so perfect! Four years ago when I heard this show for the first time, I watched this video that same day. Now, four years later, I just saw Hamilton live in San Francisco and your video came up again! What a beautiful cycle! This was the first video I saw of yours and have loved your content ever since.

Alternate steps:
1) See Lin on SNL. Think his rap is absolutely epic, so you go and listen to Hamilton.
2) LIsten to it on youtube mostly skipping the songs about his personal life because "that's been done before, right?"
3) Spend 6 weeks memorizing most of the non-personal life songs, and avoiding the second half of the show completely (except for "one last time" and the rap battles because duh) because you hated seeing how his life was going downhill, and you know how it ends.
4) Spend those 6 weeks trying desperately to get friends and family to even listen to it because you know they'd love it, but no one will even listen to it.
5) Get the Hamilton soundtrack for Christmas. Listen to the ending in the car on the way home from work 2 days later and have to pull over because you are crying and can't see the road. Love Eliza in the last song so much that you decide you need to listen to the rest of it.
6) Like 6 hours and 3 listens later you decide you are the biggest idiot EVER for having skipped Eliza's stuff. Spend the next week memorizing all of Eliza's solos, and the week after memorizing from "your obedient servant" all the way to the end
7) Go looking for karaoke videos on youtube and find the "sing with me" versions that the fabulous Kristen Ryan made, and realize you can learn all of the harmonies that way. Proceed in doing so.
8) Look up every video of Lin-Manuel Miranda that ever existed.
9) Every time you get in the car, pull up the playlist of karaoke tracks to sing to, insisting on sounding as professional as possible, matching the original performers' emphasis and breath marks.
10) Realize that you you have memorized more that 3/4 of the musical. Feel like it's the greatest thing you've done all year, but STILL be unable to share it with your closest friends, because they still won't even listen to it (classical musicians, what can you do?) So you go around playing/singing it to LITERALLY anyone who will listen.
Sigh.... this is my life!

Kelsey O'Connell this is great! Before my husband and I got married, my husband worked in another city for a year. The first time I listened to the complete soundtrack was on my three hour drive out to see him. I must have looked like a hot mess because by the end of it I was sobbing. I looked forward to the drives back and forth to see him because I could listen/sing along to the whole thing uninterrupted.
Dana Pohl I actually have another step, which is: finish memorizing all the parts I might one day try out for when they start doing the show in local theaters, but then realize that I'm probably only good enough to make understudy, so I better learn all the backup vocals so that I can at least be in the chorus. I think I'd want to be Betsy Struxness... :)

Kelsey O'Connell I know right! i wish i just met someone who was obsessed as me and actually hang out with them, maybe we can talk about it alot, bring it up randomly on a conversation, and yeah heck maybe even use some lyrics for everyday life situations and laugh together. Idk tho, i sound cheesy af but i really just want at least 1 fucking friend to try it. Because last time i recommended something to my sister/friends it ended up to me forcing them to watch it and forcing them to admit it was the best thing they've seen. I know that was pretty selfish and bitchy but i was pissed and such a brat back then.... But yeah, i actually wish someone i know and see alot can *actually fucking try it because they don't believe me but they will actually like it and they always judge a book by it's cover*
You see, I'm that person that literally squeaked when my Social Studies teacher mentioned starting the unit over the Revolutionary War, knew all the answers to three whole homework assignments because of lyrics from Hamilton, said the year when the Battle of Yorktown was fought at the same time as the teacher and got stared at, laughs when I hear of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson because of the Cabinet Battles, and just... I'm *too* obsessed.
-I accidentally called James Madison "JemmyJames" in class today
-Went on a 20 minute rampage when I realized neither John Laurens nor Hercules Mulligan get so much as a FOOTNOTE in the Social Studies book
-Pointed out that Hamilton spoke for 6 hours at the Constitutional Convention and wrote 51 essays in like 6 months when the Social Studies book didn't specify
-Vigorously pointed at the name "Marquis de Lafayette" in the book and yelled *EVERYONE GIVE IT UP FOR AMERICA'S FAVORITE FIGHTING FRENCHMAN!* in the middle of class
-Started singing "The Schuyler Sisters" in class because 'Common Sense' by Thomas Paine was mentioned.
-Pointed out that a map of the battles of the Revolutionary War was wrong because the Battle of the Combahee river wasn't included though it technically counted even though the war was over by then.
-Was the only one who knew which person was Thomas Jefferson in a picture of the editing of the Declaration of Independence.
-Literally half of the class came to me asking for answers on Social Studies homework because I finished it in 8 minutes because of Hamilton lyrics.
I think I have a problem.

My problem is that I live in the UK, and it’s not in our curriculum. I would so easily get through it though, that’s the problem. I also think that it should be in our curriculum. It is as much our history as it is yours. It was the birth of your country, and the (beginning of the) end of our empire. It’s a shame that we don’t study it.... but. I HAVE TICKETS TO SEE THE OWEC MATINEE ON THE 24 MARCH 2018!!!!!!
Uhhhgg, I didn’t get into Hamilton until this year and I had that unit last year!! I could’ve had such a leg up in that class😩
I have done THE SAME THING!! So instead of using books bc our school kinda sucks ass, we just take a lot of notes. There was a slide about Baron Von Steuben (a Prussian who trained the Continental Army in the winter of 1776 and 1777 when they were stuck in Valley Forge) and laughed bc he was FLAMING GAY. Or the next slide about Laff and I casually abrieviate their names ie Wash, Laff, Ham, Jimmy James ETC. Or when John adams popped up a very intense rage was also apparent. It was also there when I had to wait till we were learning about the government after the war and Ham wasn't mentioned till the banking system. (I laughed when Andrew Jackson closed the 2nd national bank and the country was stuck in a nation wide economic crisis) AND HOW THE ELECTION OF 1800 WAS 73 TO 73!! LANDSLIDE *MY ASS*!!
