- Hello my friends! 💗
After leaving the Purah Pad in Mineru's care, Zelda swallows the secret stone, holding hoe for Link's future in her heart. As bright light washes over her, Zelda transofrm into the Light Dragon, roaring as she ascends into the sky. Tears fall from her eyes and rain from the heavens as the Light Dragon vanishes into an expanse of clouds.
These memories are unlocked from finding the Geoglyphs in the Impa and the Geoglyphs / The Dragon's Tears questline, Tear of the Dragon Recovered Memory after collecting all the other memories.

Link’s face after the memory ends and all the silent princesses 😭😭😭
Literally 😭
Yeah it would have been nice for him to show some emotion rather than just being pretty neutral.
I am so proud of her. This is the same Zelda who was scared and desperate to have some chance of helping her people. She had GIVEN UP on sacred powers before the Calamity. She was just a nerdy girl with an unfortunate fate. I love this series so freaking much.
She deserves the world and so much more. 😭😭😭
From “Please just tell me, what is it? What’s wrong with me?!” to “I know why I am here. It’s something only I can do.”
Her growth and arc is absolutely phenomenal. What an amazing iteration of Zelda.
"Protect them all" has single handedly gotta be the most heartwrenching and powerful statements I've ever experienced
The only memory I truly cried over
Me too and I have watched it like 5 times and I still start crying during it.
@@KurobaroNoMajoAki Why this is better than Baldurs Gate 3 to me it didnt have that level of emotion
Me too 😭
I’m glad you’ve uploaded this- I didn’t remember to take the glide mask off before interacting with the tear so the moment was entirely ruined by link having googly eyes for me
Same the goofy mask ruined it lmao
SAME this is why I looked this up lol. Ugh my heart is broken this is so sad :(((
Exactly what I did
I always play with the tunic and hood outfit. Sucks it was ruined for you.
I was wearing the yiga outfit 😂
We thought Nintendo was bluffing when they said that "Tears of the Kingdom" was too spoiler-y.
We were wrong.
I think the reason Nintendo said the name was “too spoiler-y” is because “Tears of the Kingdom” was probably not the intended name. I very convinced the game’s original name was going to be ‘Tears of the Dragon’ but they changed it to Kingdom because that would’ve been a pretty clear giveaway that Zelda is the dragon.
@@brendantodt5043 You called it right! Just saw an article a few days ago where it was originally going to be Dragon and they changed it to Kingdom.
Whilst you could see this moment coming, it made it no less devastating. I think about it a lot.
Link, just staring up at her, surrounded by Silent Princesses. Him realizing that he’s lost someone who, at the very least, was a dear friend. He lost her thousands of years before he ever had a chance to save her.
And there’s no time to mourn. He’s still got to go get that sword and save Hyrule. He’s left to fulfill the same last wish her father left him with at the start of BotW.
Fate is unbelievably cruel in these games.
Link’s reaction after this memory broke my heart. I love how much character they gave him this time around!
Very interesting comment. To many, he had no reaction to the scene. However, I always felt he did.
Did anyone just leave link just standing there, like what just happened 😳😭
I warped to the tower so I could catch up to her. My Link is just chillin on her head rn, I’m so sad!!!
YES. For minutes!!
For a solid five minutes, while I was processing what I just saw and what it meant. After the Mineru's Counsel memory, I kinda expected something like this, but man was it a gut punch!
Tears of the Kingdom... Tears of the Dragon....
Tears of the player. 😭
I was NOT ready for this memory 😭
Came backs to watch this memory after I played this part in the game!
The way Zelda says “ Link!….Protect them all” gives me chills. You can just hear the fear, sadness, pain, and desperation in her voice.
I don’t why I’ve seen people give Zelda’s voice actor so much flack. She did a damn good job in both games.
FOR ZELINK FANS:
okay so I just had the epitome of realizing why the silent princesses suddenly appeared (this is my theory) it was Zelda’s way of telling Link she loves him, (yk silent princesses/petals/flowers resemble endless love, I BELIEVE Bolson said something along the lines of) and she’s sorry that this had to happen, but she’s grateful that he’s looking for her and finished all the memory’s. It’s like “thank you, I’m sorry, I love you…goodbye” all on one. it’s so heartbreaking but in a good way
Zelda: turns into a dragon to deliver the master sword
Me: doesn’t use it
YOU CAN HEAR HER SCREAMING WHEN SHE ROARS AT 3:21 NOOOOOOO
1:47 When the Steward Construct was moved by Zelda's selfless intention.
That part
3:42 i love this musical motif so much
God. The music and the lighting do so much for this moment.
The zeldas lullaby HURTS
AND TEG BOTW MAIN TH EME AAGHHHHH MY SOUL
It sounds like the lullaby being played by an angry god. Like, it says that what’s happening is fundamentally *wrong*.
I was spoiled by someone😢 but it still managed to leave a deep emotional impact ❤
My jaw still hurts from how long my mouth hung open the day I saw this
Bawled my eyes out when I got this memory 😭😭😭 she made the ultimate sacrifice
I got this memory this morning and was SOBBING.
I didn't find this as a shock. Mainly because Zelda seemed far too interested when she heard about what happens when someone swallows the stone.
It’s not meant to be a huge surprise, but it does a really good job of telling you what’s about to happen while still making it incredibly sad
Chekhov's gun mates. 😢
Am I one of the few people that saw this coming from miles away?
Especially once you see the Mineru's Counsel memory they explicitly foreshadow it in the dialogue itself.
There are a few loop holes though, specifically how was Zelda able to give Link the Recall ability on the Sky Island Temple of Time if she was already the Light Dragon during Link's time. That would mean there's two or more copies of Zelda (and no I'm not talking about the "evil" Zelda).
It's not that this scene is supposed to be surprising or anything, it's that they actually do show you the transformation, instead of just leaving it implied or whatever. That's what makes the scene nice.
I knew something was going to happen the moment they mentioned draconification. It's Chekhov's gun. You mention that power and you know that someone's going to use it.
I guessed it would either be Zelda or ganondorf but I didn't expect it to happen to both of them.
God how I wished I was wrong.
You know, it is kind of my fault for reading comments on a game that I didn’t finish yet, but uh. I didn’t get to that part of the game. And RUclips just flashed this comment in my face on my notifications. So… yeah.
EDIT: Idk dude, 3 weeks later, I still think this is kind of a douche move.
Just got this memory, completly heartbroken. I was going into totk really exited from the opportunities of this Zelda and this link, but this completly broke me
I wish id gotten the sword after getting all the memories now lol
After Zelda flies into the sky, an erhu (the main instrument used in the dragon theme) plays the first few notes of Zelda’s lullaby
Bruh, this one shook me and had me tearing up next to my lady. T_T
The fact that if i doing a replay i Will cry again
Love the use of the tenor sax.
Poor Zelda 😢❤
I absolutely lost it when her eyes started bugging out at 3:11. I was crying from laughter.
Very well made scene, it was definitely worth the effort of finding all hieroglyphs
the best thing about this game is even with the spoilers i still sobbed at the memories, especially this one
This scene breaks my heart. My only hope for a third game is they don’t make Zelda do any more selfless acts, or at the very least have Link stop her. That’s twice now she effectively gave up her life for the sake of Hyrule and that second one had her spend thousands of years as a mindless dragon. What more can Nintendo do to make this poor girl suffer? If there ever is a third game, Zelda should play one of the supporting characters that helps Link on his journey, is active in helping Link defeat the big bad, but not to the point where she sacrifices herself to do it. She more than deserves it.
NAHH THE FACT THAT THE SAGES WERE WATCHING
Zelda…MY GOAT
Zelda’s last words before turning into a dragon truly shook me… 😔
This is probably the 2nd most empty feeling a game has given me up there with the ending of red dead redemption 1 and 2 combined :(
First time seeing the light dragon:
Oh cool! Another dragon
2nd time:
This dragon is so pretty, i wonder where it came from. I bet Ze-... no
3rd time:
Ill never forget your sacrifice and bravery
So Bittersweet
Poor Zelda deserves the world and so much more. She carried Link (and Hyrule) so hard this time around. 😭
Man that construct has seen some stuff the imprisoning war the great calamity the 100 year calamity
3:40 THAT MELODY ON THE SAXAPHONE. WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS BEFORE???
It's from the final trailer before the game came out, playing at the very beginning with the shots of the sky islands! It might play somewhere else in the game, too, but that's where we first heard it at least
@@pastelbird Im pretty sure its a lietmotif from other zelda games tho
@@pastelbird looked it up - its the sacred duet from spirit tracks
@@pastelbird also song of time somehow?
@@BigGamer2525 listened to them side by side to compare, I can hear the resemblance with the scared duet but I don't think it's meant to be a direct quote. I feel like it's meant to be a new theme. This game has quite a few of those actually, it also has quotes but those are mostly pretty much 1:1 and specifically related to the setting whereas this one isn't
I just saw this on the Switch now. The previous Memory #15 (DT #11), I was thinking: "Don't tell me she's going to do that?" On this one , turns out my hunch was right when I watched Zelda did that and left me shocked/surprised.
Link is in the exact same situation as shinji from evangelion 😢
memory 17 in botw is zelda saving link, memory 17 in totk is zelda saving the master sword
HMMMM....
I do not hesitate to say that I sat there for a minute in denial.. like....what? No. No .... This isnt real.😅
RIP zelda, she's not dead but she technically is
Spoilers:
Edit: Never mind, they didn't commit... 😔
Dude you ruined a pretty major plot point with your edit that I and possibly others have not yet gotten to...
Can anyone tell me what the song is called at 4:12? I'm trying to find it by itself, maybe an extended one? Or is that it
It's Zeldas Lullaby
😭
Why everyone cris? It is quite normal. Pls someone explain to me
Some people are just more emotional than others.
Well, especially people who played BOTW, they just have emotional attachment with the character. It is kinda like death of someone important in a movie. Here “draconification” is making oneself immortal but losing oneself which could be interpreted as losing consciousness. Basically disappearing as someone with close relationship to protagonist. It all depends on how long you spent with *this* Zelda (which is quite unique compared to previous Zeldas)
Finished BOTW and 100 hours into the game? Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster
Didn’t play BOTW and barely 30 hours in the game, with little understanding of what’s really going on? Well, yeah you’re not gonna cry here
im trying to unlock it but idk how
you have to find all the dragon tear pools on the highlighted pictures. if you need reference for where they are you can head to the forgotten temple with the huge goddess statue and behind it is old zonai ruins that shows u where all the pictures are
For the longest time I thought the "Tears of the Kingdom" were the different sage stones. Now I see that the level of depth in the story is so much more than I could've ever hoped for 🥲🥹
