  • This was a 110km declared goal that I ended up overflying, it was a tricky flight that required a few low saves and flying some particularly turbulent lee side conditions early on. I do my best to explain my decision making process throughout the journey.
I've never made it this far east from Coronet Peak (New Zealand) before and in the end was a little disorientated, I'd love to give it another go and see if it's possible to make the coast!

For what it’s worth to you, I’m an aspiring xc pilot that just got my lic this year. I’ve been watching so many videos an your videos has been the most informative with respect to how the weather works with clouds, wind and thermals ect.
    I’ve learned a lot.
    Thank you.

The additional graphics are cool. These vids just get more slick every time. The commentary is great.

5 min mark. Tinny bastard or massive skill? Maybe a mix, a very close call. Bugger landing at that point! Top vid Benjamin.

Nice one Ben, cinematography, editing, sound, scenery, simply great, just as we're accustomed to expect from you. The clear and sincere narrative of your thought processes, decisions, etc, doesn't just add to understanding and learning but takes the videos to another level. Thank you

That’s one of the best Xc vids I’ve seen. Seeing the cloud shadows move on hyperlapse, and watching you use the wind and terrain was brilliant. Great channel

    What a wicked video!
I had friends camping at Kyeburn at new year, With two young kids we decided not to go visit for the day, I should have taken a leaf out of your book and flow over for a few beers.
Was great having a yarn on the way up to the gondy launch the other day.
    Keep up the good work!

Is April and May are still generally good time to fly in your area, plan to be in New Zealand next year ? Hervé (French)

Ahhh it will be stable, May is one of the worst months for flying here, maybe June is worse... It is flyable but the days are very short.
