I’ve seen this argument a lot on bears communities. My stance has been this. If Joe Alt was there at 9 he’d be a Bear. But I don’t think the other guys selected ahead of 9 or any of the guys after will be able to make as significant of an impact in the short and long term as Rome Odunze can. Gives them flexibility to walk away from KA this offseason if they choose and still have 2 studs at WR. Can always try and swing for a trade if someone is selling parts towards the deadline.
What about if Nate Davis is having serious mental health issues? You have to give consideration to that aspect and respect his privacy. But I am in with you and your frustration.
It must be nice getting paid 30 million to be a bench warmer. If the bears want to throw away money like that, they might as well hire me to warm the benches.

Somewhat garbage sports radio takes here. I agree on the Nate Davis narrative. However, stop disrespecting the OL. Justin Fields who is borderline awful in the pocket is responsible for a large percentage of his sacks and this goes back to Ohio State. Fields sack rate was almost 3 times the sack rate of Tyson Bagent last year. Bears OL was average last season and upgraded with the additions of Shelton and Bates over Whitehair and Patrick. Entering this season PFF has the Bears OL ranked 11th in the NFL. Bears bigger issues are on the defensive front which is thin in both talent and depth.
