What's _really_ happening is you've encountered an infamous bug in The Games Factory where the music keeps looping and stacking and playing an infinite amount of time, making the game lag out like crazy.
The reason why all of the games have MIDI music is because since all of the games are made in Multimedia Fusion 2, the music has to be MIDI, and that's it. No WAV, MP3, or all of those files. Just, f******, MIDI. However, you can make a CD-quality song, and put it in MMF2, and just pretend it's a sound effect.
