    This is amazing. Was there a two stage process to grinding out the bad mortar and then taking back the edge of the brick slightly, to reinstate the sharp edge?

    Gouge out with a nail raker then grind back to finish? It looks neat but it does seem to be a very destructive method. What is the long term outlook? Cheers mate, we need more passionate blokes like you in the game!

      A good question - it's like sanding / blasting back to make the wall near perfectly flat. If the original brick had no outer hard surface, then there's probably no harm in dressing the brick face back it seems to me.

    It’s a f**king disgrace that some so-called tradesmen just screw customers over. There really should be some form of penalty or sanction for shit work. You guys may be more expensive than others but the old saying is true: buy cheap buy twice.

    How can you make a 12mm that you cleaned out look like a 6 mm ??? Point it twice with coloured motar first then grind and fill with a lime colour maybe??

    Absolutely awesome. Well done for doing a great job, looking after your customers and maintaining a clean site. Too many trades chase the money and knock the job out and quality is often affected. An absolute work of art.

    Even the sample they originally did should have been a BIG RED FLAG that they were chancers....I liked at number 210, but really this should be more like 2.1 million considering the skill required and the final restoration quality achieved - beautiful work.

  • @karlbutlerking
    @karlbutlerking Год назад +5

    Ideal wall product (Italian company) with an acrylic outer layer matched to the red brick, then using a straight edge and a round head gouge you strike in the lines exposing the inner colour or base material.
    Excellent work, as a mason with 17 years exp your finish and use of the product is exceptional... Motivational to say the least.
    At 16:50 you can see the base layer tucked into the headers.

    It does look brilliant, im not sure how its done. But if your using a coloured mortar on the bricks iny experiance it doesn't last very long at all.
    Im guessing you use something different?

    Lovely finish showing the thin clean regular lines of lime mortar. Shame you did not show how it was actually done, rather than just a before and after, as this really requires skill and patience. Maybe you prefer not to give your secrets away?

    Do you ever sand the brick, I've had mine Doff cleaned to get paint off but think it may have taken the 'kiln dryed' surfed off the brick. So I want to sand it a bit to make it better, would you recommend I leave it so as not to damage the brick further?
