Gayle, Love, love, love your videos and your cheerfully delivered explanations. You mentioned that there would be a million suggestions so another will not be a surprise. Here goes…Apply a coating of mod podge to the backside of your strips and allow to dry before weaving. You can still apply dabs of glue to hold your strips together as you weave. When the weave is complete, iron the piece (protect your iron and ironing board with deli paper) and voila….you can cut apart into tags and no further gluing in needed. Thank you for letting me but in. Your fan, Donna.
Oh my gosh Donna that is brilliant. I did this and made journal cards with the same issue of them staying together. I’m absolutely going to try this! Thanks for the tip. And as always Gayle, great video. ❤️
Hi Gayle. You may never see this comment since this video is a year old. I’m catching up on older videos since I’m out of commission. What fun! I want to try to do this! You mention in this video that you’re grateful for Tim Holtz coming up with new things all of the time. I feel the same way about you. Thank you for the wealth of ideas that you provide. 💜
How fun and relaxing to watch! 😃 This would be great for the card maker's out there for their Quilting friends. It definitely looks like a quilt. Thank you Gayle for another Great Scrappy Saturday!!
I recently showed my friend the paper weaving video because I made so many from your earlier videos and know to save branding strips. She had to make one (12×12) right away. She used her strips, combined them with mine and created a beautiful weave. Some corners were more yellow with blue, others green, browns and tans. She's loved paperctafting because of your video inspirations.
Glad you revisited this idea! I made a 6x6 weaved paper the 1st time you showed this idea and loved it. Time to make more Gayle tags! The current way of the world just breaks my heart for all those people in the Ukraine. Also feel so bad for the people in Russia who are opposed to what is happening. I have a ton of videos to catch up on! Haven't been able to get any Gayle time this past week. I hate feeling ill. Hugs....
Hey Gayle! I actually sat down and did this with you today. It was fun! I didn't have enough scrap strips like you did, but just cut up paper into 1/2 inch strips, size based on scrap strips I already have. I used 4 different papers that had Spring colors and glued each row down as I went along. It sure turned out really pretty. So much so I don't want to make cards until I scan the entire woven paper so I can use it again and again. And then I'll cut out the cards. We had a snow storm today. About 10 inches fell and is blowing all over the place. Looks like Puxatawney, PA groundhog called things right this year with a long winter. Though, it was in the 50s a few days ago. Well, my friend, I hope you're day is going well. Hugs! God bless! Sue ❤
Fast forward over ANY part of a Gayle Agostinelli video?! I think not! 😂 😂 😂 I might miss a funny story, miss learning a new word or something. No ma'am. I work on cross stich, paper craft or turn up the volume and run to the potty but never fast forward 😂 😁❤️ hope you are doing well and thank you so much for the movie suggestion and your cheery kindness. I've never personally met you but have much love and respect for you.
What an amazing project! At first when I saw this video, I thought… nah, I won’t watch this one… it’s not me. But then I decided to watch it and you brought me out of a several day funk that I have been in due to health issues. Thanks for making me smile and believe that I too could attempt such a project. Life often sucks when struggling with health stuff… but it is always nice to watch your videos and hear your banter about your life and crafting… thank you… Lynda from Alberta, Canada!!!
Lovely tags made from your weaving sheet! I do a bit of a different thing when I do mine. I also usually use a 12x12 paper as the backing and I do glue the top edge as you do, weave the same as you, then glue the outer 3 remaining edges like you , now is the different part. This way may not be faster to all, but I don't do it for a time saver, but it does secure it better and gives added texture, I take it to my sewing machine and run stitches over all the strips, sometimes I mix up the stitching other times I only do straight stitching, sometimes I do like a random crazy type line (circles, spirals, boxes etc) all over and other times I just sew a line down the center of the strips. You can cut these apart now without worrying the center is going to shift and you can still glue the random loose edges on the tags where/if needed. If I had an embroidery machine still I would even add a few flowers or butterfies mixed in with the stitching! I have also used iron on fusible to put on the back of the 12x12 before you start weaving. Weave your strips on top of the fusible side. After the weaving is done just cover the woven paper with a pressing cloth or parchment paper then iron it down, works great no or little gluing needed. This technique also allows you to weave in some of those shorter 1/2 inch lace pieces for another type look! Just other ideas for you to try or not. *hugs & prayers* thanks for the daily smiles and inspiration Gayle it is much appreciated! Much love winging its way from Alabama to Montana!
You know Gayle this morning I woke up terribly depressed. I’m so sick of winter and cold and pain then I saw your video and I thought why not. So l turned it on and started watching and it wasn’t long and you had me laughing with you. You can be hilarious. It’s very infectious. Buy the time you were finished I felt much better. Thank you so much for your humor and joy. I’m grateful for it. Judy O in Oklahoma.💝😂😂😂😂
Darlene here. I do like the looks of these woven pages. Appreciate your demonstration as well as the additional tips from the previous commenters. Thanks so much.
Hi Gayle!! This is one of my favorite "Scrappy Saturday" projects!! I enjoy watching you do the paper weaving and love to see the end results (it's always a surprise!!). These are beautiful tags!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
What fun! I would scan the whole piece before cutting it up after spending so much time creating it! My scanner couldn't handle a 12 by 12 but doing it in sections would give fodder for some more fun tags later on when printed on cardstock. I'm also seeing myself printing the images on copy paper to use as journal pages, patchwork pockets and belly bands. Thanks for the ideas!
Thank you for this excellent video ; something different that we have not seen in a long time. The tags are beautiful and I appreciated the audition of the different distress inks. They really change the look of each tag.
The 12x12 woven piece is gorgeous, as are the individual tags. Bless you for your seemingly infinite patience. I, on the other hand and if I did weave such a creation, would ModPodge the top/weave to keep it all in place. Thank you for taking the time to put this beauty together and sharing the process. Cheers, Ardith
I absolutely loved this video. I could kick myself now knowing what I did with all the branding strips over the years. These turned out so cute. I now have a box just for these scraps.
Those tags are just great!! I have done the weaving and made small ephemera with it but haven't done tags. I just weave small pieces and then glue them to copy paper instead of doing all the strip gluing. Works great for me. Thanks for the idea & your time, Gayle!!
I love how pretty this is. I’ve been wanting to get through some paper pads and couldn’t think of what to do. This is perfect! I’m just going to cut my 12x12 into strips and weave away 💜 Thanks Gayle!
What Fun !! And relaxing'... My semi brain is working on overtime with Christmas only 30 days away. I cannot even sleep at night because of thinking overload. [ I do this to myself-- lol-- ] I honestly found this project a way of calming myself. Thank You from the bottom of my heart....
Loved the paper weaving! It looks lovely if you tear strips or alternate width of strips. I have an old paper shredder that shreds in strips. I used that with my middle school students to make miniature weavings on index cards with magazines. Tedious but it was great for eye-hand coordination
Hi Gayle .......... another good idea your sharing!! I look forward to your videos to see what you are going to make! I'm new in this JJ World and I'm learning a lot from you! Your so creative and have tons of patience! Thank you very much for all you share!!! 💜💜💜
Love it!! Love love love scrappy Saturdays! One of the things I appreciate about you is your honesty!! It's so nice you never learned to lie! That is one less thing you have to remember--and leaves more room in your brain for crafting!! AND believe me, when you get really old like me, things just fall out of your brain for no good reason!! Love ya!!
I would add a coat of gesso or mod podge to it before cutting to keep it all together. Love the idea and shared the idea with my crafting group...giving you credit.♥️
I will definitely need to be in a mood to "putz" to work on this project 😁 but already I'm thinking some book pages included might be a cool look. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
G’morning Gayle! 💕 It was 62 degrees last night. Woke up to 28 and a heavy dusting of snow this morning. 17 degrees expected by tomorrow morning. And I’m in the southern US. 😵💫 Mother Nature showing us who’s boss. 😆Oh, this quilt looking paper weave is so pretty! Thanks for showing us and reminding me to save those strips! 👍
One more idea on how to do this 🤣. What if you glued an undecorated strip horizontally to the bottom of all the vertical strips? You’d lose one row at the bottom, but I think being able to lift it in one piece for gluing would make it worthwhile. You might even be able to glue an undecorated strip to each set of vertical strips - to mimic a loom. Fun to experiment. 😁🥰
Good morning Gayle!! That was a lot of work, but I love the end result. Not sure I'd have the patience to do this!! 😂 Thank you for sharing this with us. Have an awesome Saturday...💜
Good evening Gayle! Love this. I would definitely tackle a smaller piece bc I don’t know that I have the patience as you do for a whole 12x12 but what a fun project! Thank you!
I've done this with gelli prints and my own multimedia art and been very happy with the results. Also striking when you use black and white multimedia design. When cut up and then randomly put back back together, it looks awesome. Only negative is it adds time because you have to cut your own strips.
Thank you! I’ve been meaning to try this but thought I’d be stumbling with it falling apart etc this video gave me the courage to give it a go 😊yours are just wonderful!
Hi Sweet Gayle! Happy Saturday! This is a fabulous idea! Loved it. You have inspired me to make my VERY FIRST journal!! I am almost done with the cover. This is one of my favorite way that you could use up these strips. I like these as well as you Cathedral stained glass tickets and pockets. So pretty. That is so cool....looks like those pot holders we would make back in the days as kids
I know! in the 50's I sold them door to door on my street for 35 cents! I was about 8 or 9...so fun!
@Brenda Gilbert awesome !!!!
I thought the same thing also. I have a bunch of magazines, I think those would work great also.
How fun and relaxing to watch! 😃 This would be great for the card maker's out there for their Quilting friends. It definitely looks like a quilt. Thank you Gayle for another Great Scrappy Saturday!!
This was recommended to me today - never too late for a scrappy Saturday!

At first I thought, Oh, what a gorgeous book cover. Then I thought, I hope she copies it for Etsy. Then I saw the trimmer come out. OMGoodness!
I’m afraid I don’t have any suggestions, but I sure giggled along with you. Fun!

These are great! An awesome idea for my strips! On my to-do list! I agree, they really don’t need any decorations!
Not only are you the Queen of Creativity, you are also clearly the Princess of Patience. That patience totally paid off. The tags are outstanding!

You design all these beautiful items for your store. If you would design a "kind" stamp, I'd bet all your fans would purchase it !!!
The last one was my favorite, but loved yet another masterful video. You make magic!!! Thanks yet again!!!
I absolutely loved this video. I could kick myself now knowing what I did with all the branding strips over the years. These turned out so cute. I now have a box just for these scraps.
Another Scrappy Saturday Winner... Thx 🙏, Gayle... Love 🥳 them... 📌💝🎶👑💝
These are so pretty. they look like mini quilts. Hope you had a great weekend with your family.
Gayle, I love watching the purposes of your craft... thank you sweet lady
Those tags are just great!! I have done the weaving and made small ephemera with it but haven't done tags. I just weave small pieces and then glue them to copy paper instead of doing all the strip gluing. Works great for me. Thanks for the idea & your time, Gayle!!
Love these woven tags❣ A true scrappy save 😃
Oh, I love those. What a great idea! Thank you, Gayle!!! 💖❤

Oooh I love this idea Gayle! Use up a lot of scraps!
Hi Gayle… great idea! Would look fab with strips of your geli papers too!
Love this idea, another detour for me tomorrow. 😆
Gayle we enjoyed Inventing Anna too. A similar story line with a guy is Tinder Swindler and he’s still at it today!
Oh my goodness Gayle! I love this!

paper weaving is so much fun - this came out beautiful Gayle and i love the tags you made from them - thank you and be well
Good morning Gayle!! That was a lot of work, but I love the end result. Not sure I'd have the patience to do this!! 😂 Thank you for sharing this with us. Have an awesome Saturday...💜
If you just make a pocket you can have the same effect for a lot less time.
Those are pretty but a lot of work. I like that idea. Thanks for sharing.
reminds me of what my parents would refer to as a crazy quilt
Good evening Gayle! Love this. I would definitely tackle a smaller piece bc I don’t know that I have the patience as you do for a whole 12x12 but what a fun project! Thank you!
Good Morning Gayle. Love me some Scrappy Saturday 💖💖
Morning Edie! ❤️
I've never seen this before thanks for something new ill try it.
Your woven paper is very beautiful!
how much fun is this.... I love it
I've done this with gelli prints and my own multimedia art and been very happy with the results. Also striking when you use black and white multimedia design. When cut up and then randomly put back back together, it looks awesome. Only negative is it adds time because you have to cut your own strips.
This was another great Scrappy Saturday video. I love the look of the woven paper cut into tags. Thanks so much for sharing this fun video.
Excellent definitely a masterclass in patience 😂 ~Sue
I collaged it, mod podged it and am just waiting for my art glitter glue to finishing adhering the embellishments. I sent you a photo of it via Instagram. 💕
They turned out so beautiful!
Thank you for share your video with us, I’m going to try this today
That’s so cool, how beautiful!
Good Morning My Sweet Friend Gayle!! EXQUISITE treasures plus a wonderful reminder of this genius idea. Your plans sounds great! May there be Blessings, positive vibes and peace for all who need it in these unsure times! Namesta ✌️🐞🕉️
Morning Lori! ❤️
I made one of these they are so pretty: I also cut them up and didn’t mess it up: I have enough to make another one. Love your Video’s! Char.
I loved St Vincent by the way. When it started I was wondering what you saw in it, and of course I ended up shedding a tear at the end. I even watched it a second time with hubby.
Luv the quilted loook of the woven papers!🦌💌❤️📚
Just a beautiful tag :)
What a fantastic idea
Wow, Gayle! That’s a lot of work but what nice little treasures they will be to find in journals. 🌹
I had a week of using scraps, its so rewarding! 😊 Hope you have a nice time with your family! 💜
Glad you decided to paper weave today, Gayle, as I was thinking about trying to do this. I recall you did a smaller version quite awhile ago. Of course, I forgot it all. If mine looks a fraction as good, I will be happy! Thanks, Gayle! Be well. 🌻🌻🌻
Morning Gayle
I’ve been waiting for this type of video. Now I understand how beautiful paper weaving can be, however tedious. I absolutely cherish your creativity and love for paper crafting.
We have a fur baby that loves laying in the sun, problem is she lays belly exposed and because she has little fur she sunburns if we don’t get her out of the sun especially in the Spring and Summer months. That’s so neat that Alfie is a sun dog some breeds aren’t.
Thank you for all you do and for all you teach us.
Love ❤️ and 🤗 hugs always
Ooooooo ….. weaving …. I have it in mind to do a journal cover using a weave of some kind. 😍😍😍😍
Love how these turned out!😍❤
Could you Mod Podge over the top to seal the weave so no extra gluing is needed?
So pretty. I made woven ribbon purses/bags for a few years. Always fun to see weaving. Love the tags. A little fiddly but totally worth it!
I weave at the loose end and slide the strip up. I find I fight less with the strips. Just a thought ...
This is fun. Pretty.
Bon giorno Gayle! Yes! My kind of video, I have so many scraps it should be illegal. Thank you!
Thanks for the movie recommendation. I watched Inventing Anna. Unbelievable 😂.
Hello Gayle, thanks for sharing how to create the woven paper, just love how the tags came out.
Love this idea! they turned out so well. Thanks for the recommendation on the Ukraine documentary. It is always good to have more information then what the news is telling us. I also found Inventing Anna to be fascinating. I read the article the show was based on and have been fascinated by her ever since. So crazy! I just watched the movie The Big Sick last night and I bet you guys would love it. It hits all the notes of comedy, love, complicated people. and its based a real story!
Thanks for the movie recommendation! Is it July yet? 😂❤️
@@gayleagostinelli_ct its getting closer every day!!
That looks so pretty! Really love it! 😍💕
Afternoon gayle the sun is out in Yorkshire England have a great day
Good afternoon, Natalie! ❤️
I love a patchwork look. These credit great. I wonder if you are having a snowy Saturday like we are. Yesterday was mid 60s here. Enjoy your grateful day. Love&hugs
50’s here and no snow! 🎉❤️
Happy Scrappy Saturday! Wonderful idea for all the endless scraps, thanks for all you do Gayle.
Beautiful!Like a watercolor quilt.
This is one of my favorite way that you could use up these strips. I like these as well as you Cathedral stained glass tickets and pockets. So pretty. I made some Cathedral stained glass pockets and tags with a dark forest green background for an Ireland 🇮🇪 journal for my niece. I think she will love them when I get it finished and to her. Thank you for all you share and give so freely of your time and talents. We are so blessed to have you in our crafting worlds. Have a lovely week. Thanks again. From cold very dry Utah. Hope some winter snow and rain come down our way. Even if it gets to be spring before it is here we sure could use some rain and snow.
Where can I find the cathedral stained glass window tutorial? I can’t find it.
How beautiful I am gonna try
