    With that hemiwalker position, the affected foot should be your right side..and the normal should be left leg.. coz in usual cases the unaffected or normal hand holds the hemi walker..which means that that side including the leg is normal..

      The position has to be maintained with the help of the care giver / Physiotherapist.
      Ability to push down while stepping is the pre-requisite for gaining purposeful movements in the Upper limb.

    nice sir but what if there is no hand grip

    • @PhysioClassroom
      @PhysioClassroom  5 лет назад

      Hello,
      Thanx for your question.
      Absence of hand grip in a patient during the subacute or chronic phase can be due to persistent hypotonia seen in pure pyramidal lesions.
      Otherwise it is easier for a stroke patient to grasp and is relatively difficult to release.
      You can try the below:
      1. You can use handling technique to facilitate weight bearing on hands if Patient don't have a hand grip.
      2. You can use a stable support like a table beside the patient which would not require the patient to grip for weight bearing.
      Feel free to discuss further on my WhatsApp number 9410575949.
      Thanks again for watching the video.
      Do share our videos with your contacts.
      Regards
      Dr. Abhishek
