Hello: Instead of teaching phase by phase, maybe it's more helpful to teach how to use an adverb, adjective or noun in multiple ways and simplify the learning process: For example: 1) Where is the closest rest room, pharmacy, supermarket, museum, subway station, restaurant or shopping center? 2) How much? How many? How far? How long? 3) Go left, right, east west, south, north, up, down, under, above or behind. The problem is, not every audience of yours can understand the whole phase, depending on their English level. If they are good enough to understand the whole sentence, they are probably ready to watch a movie with Chinese subtitles, they don't need to listen to you. I know so because I watched American TV for 6 months straight upon my arrival in US to learn English. Same way I learned Spanish, I learned the first 1000 works in Spanish, then I started watching Spanish dramas. Key is for your audience to learn the basic key words and build from there.
