You now kind of realize why Jerome believes there are no heroes. There were none in his own life. And the people who were supposed to love and protect him, his family, abused him because of his own twin's lies. I always felt Jerome had a tragic story, but now even more so. I don't know if Jeremiah did it with cruel intent or if he was just projecting his own dark inner thoughts that he couldn't act upon. Either way, if Jeremiah is truly the one of them that becomes the Joker, he's going to have to be even darker and more twisted than Jerome is. And no matter whether Jeremiah did it intentionally or not, he did ruin Jerome's life with his lies. This line just made my heart break. "You turned everyone I ever loved against me. My own flesh and blood!" For someone like Jerome to actually say it out loud like that. That's huge. Reminds me of when he told his father about his 9th birthday. For a brief moment, you could catch a glimpse of the person he could have been without all the craziness. That to me feels like the same kind of glimpse we've gotten when he said that line to Jeremiah. Aaah, I could go on for hours about Jerome. I absolutely loved Bruce going in that diner the other episode and defending Jerome, telling that uncle that no one deserved to be treated that way no matter who they are or what they've done. That was wow and just so typically Bruce/Batman. But I fear that for Jerome it's too little too late. If someone had stepped in when he was still a kid, then it could have gotten through to him. But now it just made him question Bruce's sanity since someone standing up for the likes of him must be impossible in his own mind. I didn't think I could love Jerome any more than I already did, but these few episodes have really done it. He's horrible, his actions are truly terrible, but somehow I have always had a really soft spot for him. I really wished he could have remained a character of his own, even if he wouldn't have been the Joker. I know Cameron will kill it as the Joker no matter what, but at this point I feel nothing for Jeremiah at all. I have a feeling that his innocent act this episode was just that; an act. So it's not like I could feel sorry for him, and definitely not after learning that he poisoned everyone against Jerome... I also love how theatrical Jerome is. He always goes all out. The way he left that labyrinth, that last shot he took under his leg or whatever he did there, and the face he made doing it. I have the feeling that Jeremiah would be more calculating and manipulative rather than an agent of chaos. Jerome is a showman, likes to grab the attention even if he can't be sure anyone is watching. In last season with the way he said "Nailed it." when loading that canon without anyone hearing it at all. The last episode where he was doing some yoga type excercise and then waved at the camera. He's so extra and over the top but it's brilliant. But hey I'll try not to judge Jeremiah before knowing what his character is really like.
