John, this is just a trailer. I know that. It still made me tear up. I literally cannot describe the overwhelming sensation of awe and excitement that I feel whenever I see a new melodysheep video. The closest thing I can think of... it's similar to the sensation I have on a really good first date, when I start to imagine all of the possibilities in store for me if that budding relationship works out. The biggest difference, though, is that I get this wonderful feeling on behalf of not just me, but also all of our descendants. They're going to do so much cool stuff if we can just get our act together as a species and start really tackling the greatest problems we face. I want to give them the whole universe, and if they ever start reaching out into the stars like this then I will have played some small role in making that happen.

It will depend on the rotation speed. For example ISS, there is balance of the Earth gravity and centrifugal force or if you like accelerations and movement of ISS. If not take in to account Earth gravity anomalies and orbit changes, then gravity on ISS height is around 80-90% from planet surface. When ring rotates faster - you can do any gravity on inner surface by choosing speed and radius. When slower - then opposite, outer surface will be inhabited, since pulled by planet gravity, but you will be pretty limited in options (under 80-90% of planets gravity and heavy load on the ring structure. Also if ring structure is massive... then the planet will have big tectonics problems, not only huge tides.

The trailer looks amazing my only problem is the reendering at 0:45. The Habital rings have an atmosphere on both sides. Habitational rings around earth would both have spin and gravitational (created theirs and earths mass) acceleration but one will cancel out, this way only one side will have an acceleration pointing towards the ring. Leading to the otherside having no atmosphere even in the short run and acceleration pointing away from the rings surface. Maybe you don't completly work undercurrently understood physik in the section of the video or only want it to look amazing which it does, still I wanted to point it out in case this is not wanted.
What if the ring only rotates on the inside and is two pieces ? But I agree seeing this broke my brain too, I tought only the part inside the ring would have gravity
