  • On 11 April 2024 AgForce Queensland Farmers Ltd succeeded in getting a court date (with a degree of urgency) of 1 and 2 August 2024, to seek a federal judicial review of the 9 February 2022 decision that the proposed Glencore/CTSCo activity of pumping liquified CO2 into the Great Artesian Basin (GAB) was not captured by the provisions of the EPBC Act.
That success builds momentum in what is a critical moment for Australia.
    The next steps include:
    1. Completing a strong submission to the Parliament of Australia Senate Enquiry. AgForce will also undertake some activities to encourage as many submissions as possible. www.aph.gov.au...
How to make a submission: www.aph.gov.au...
    2. Ensuring we are as well prepared as possible for our opportunity in the Federal Court. As part of that we continue to seek funding and other support as people and organisations are able. www.agforceqld...
    3. Supporting the State based activities as we can, including spreading the petition links on socials. apps.parliamen...
We are hopeful of the State Government declining the current Glencore/CTSCo application/EIS process in the short term.
