- A step-up from phone cameras, for certain.
If I don't get beshackled weapons, my average run time is 90 seconds.
If I do, it's about 180 seconds.
Around 7 swings of the pickaxe are the average per attempt.
If the mining chance is 7%, then the chance of getting AT LEAST ONE beshackled weapon/armor is 1- 0.93^7 = 39.82%.
Out of 100 attempts, I got exactly 40 beshackled weapons. The math checks out, 1 beshackled weapon every 2nd or 3rd attempt.
The total runtime for the 100 attempts adds up to 3.5 hours.
The left number represents the amount of beshackled weapons, the right number represents the amount of times I mined (swings of the pickaxe, not the number of nodes)

After about 80 attempts I switched to another guild quest, which only has 2 blue nodes in the treasure room. That's another factor of RNG I didn't address in the video: exits can be blocked, this is pure RNG of the guild quest you happen to have.
Do yourself a favour and only level quests with a fully stocked treasure room (and a short distance between camp and treasure room, as well as no cancerous maps like the desert valley).
You can do about 5-6 attempts before you would have reasonably beat the quest in multiplayer (with a risk of failure and long waits in between quests). Doing quests properly doesn't preclude you from mining treasure areas, of course.
So in terms of relics per time unit, this method is pretty efficient.
Bottom line it's a matter of preference. The way I look at it is, if you don't have internet or you're in a train/bus to work, or just lying in bed being a lazy fuck, you can squeeze in some relic farming this way.

Been years since I started playing 4U and didn’t even know this was a thing. I guess I was torturing myself soloing lvl140 Apex Rajang for nothing.
Definitely going to try this if it still works, and finally get the perfect Basarios Rock Relic.
Jang has the lowest health and is the most predictable out of the candidates for getting high tier relics, the guides by siangg/aeonwcs and origami tim chang still hold true if you want more consistency. But either way it's torture lol.

I farmed my Shagaru Magala guild quest from 120 to 140, mostly solo, partly for the relics (and legit hunting, no reset spam) and partly just to challenge myself that it can be done.
At that level, pretty much all of Shagaru's bigger attacks can oneshot you....
After sifting through so many vids. This one has been the most promising. Decided to pick up 4u again from fresh ill def be sure to use this
I haven't played in years, the controls feel so clunky to me now. I hope you make it all the way to G rank! And check out origami tim chang's rajang guide. This method is easy but so is hunting 140 apex jang with greatsword. We used to spam the heck out of that ultra cheesy velocidrome + rajang quest with the canopy traps. (multi monster quests have reduced health)
@@JadeIsBunny thanks I'll be sure to keep to it. Im actually emulating it but its still so refreshing with the actually feel & reward of difficulty. World made me soft with how good lance is there lol. I'll keep climbing and hopefully get far.

Failing a GQ will not affect its level whatsoever! Same for retiring from the quest.
My God can't believe this game came out 6 years ago. Just got back into it and I still need my perfect dragon seal with dragon damage lol

What about divine armour spheres? Does this only work for gear?
As far as I know, those are only rewarded for completed quests. I'm haven't played Mh4U in some time, and I know i'm not paying nintendo anything, but if there's a way to meet in a guild hall I'd just give you all my best Guildquests. Ultimately there is no way around getting good if you want to enjoy endgame!

I'm curious if miraculous luck/gold rathian Hunting Horn runs with the boys would actually be better and save more time in the long run, if MH4U's internet halls weren't so trash nowadays I would think it possible to get decent relics that way, but for what I'm going for I'm guessing RNG will never concede her will for me. Just the whole process of the bombs and the reseting feels so offsetting and annoying to me to farm stuff, but I won't knock it if it works.

got the particular quest from a friend
you level up quests by completing them, the rewards "max out" at 136, but it goes to 140 anyway.

@@analogacegambit5054 Tbh, if you can beat a 126+ GQ, you can beat Monster Hunter. It's just a matter of patience, really. In any case, the guild quest needs a switchaxe bias or it won't do you any good. I would probably focus on beating the final mission, cantaperme92 beat it with every weapon type and uploaded the hunts on youtube. A better weapon is fine but the quest requires wystone management (if you mean The Master's Test), item management and not getting frustrated, more so than good gear!
@@JadeIsBunny i already beat the masters test the only thing i lost always to "monster hunter!" quest is i alway running out of time due to a very carefull playthrough to prevent getting carted i have the full excello Z armor half nearly upgrades cuz idk how to get devine spheres but sometimes i get my ass kicked becacuse there is a part when after killing the tigrex there is of 2 monsters [zinogre] [brachydios] fighting it in the same time while the arena fence is permanently inactive or runned out of time after killing 2 of them

Question I dont understand this do your HR has to be 136 or ... +136 Guildquest what does it mean
To go on a 136+ guild quest (and therefore to perform this farming method) you need a G rank special permit, which you get from doing the quest "A Quagmire Quarrel" (gogmazios) and then talking to "His Immenseness".
In fact this applies to every guild quest leveled 126 or higher.

I don't like shilling this guy (especially considering the info in this post is not entirely accurate), but I'm also too lazy to write an explanation at the moment.
Bottom line, clearing a guild quest levels it up. At first it rises by 5 levels, then 3, eventually only 1. The max amount you can level the quest is 140 and it gets more difficult after a certain level threshold (126 and 136).
A level 136 quest drops the same things as a level 140 quest, and the monsters have the same HP and damage.
level 86+ is considered G rank. 126 and higher is already above G rank, and level 136 is where monsters are apex if they have an apex version. They deal about twice the damage as in village quests and have triple the amount of HP.

136 is the max, it just keeps going until 140 anyway. You'll get lower rarity rewards, aka weapons that are weaker than craftable ones. If you confer with the links in the description you'll find out what the quest drops (in terms of skins).

Does anyone know why I can't seem to be getting any charge blade relics? I've been using this method and still not a single beshackled charge blade! Why not?
If it doesn't drop CB it never drops CB. Guild Quests are biased towards certain weapon types with certain skins (for example ceadeus CB, gore magala CB..). The bias is named in the quest card (lower section) of the Guild quest. I think I put a link in the description for the skins, because you can only indirectly tell which skins drop from what GQ at what level. Been a while but I'm sure the GQ card tells you what weapon type it drops.
Im also fairly certain the type never changes with the GQ level. The skin does tho.
