@@sally---- because who the victim is/was has a lot of bearing on the matter. If someone robs a store and shoots one of the clerks, does that not matter? Shooting someone with no power to resist implies that it might have been a thrill killing, for example.
I'm not saying that the crime should be treated as lesser or greater than other crimes of a similar scenario- with the exception of crimes against children and uniformed police. And the latter is merely a matter of practicality.
This isn't a woman who shot at a uniformed officer. Unless they can prove she somehow knew that he was a cop, then she shouldn't be prosecuted as if she intentionally and knowingly shot a cop, because that might provide motive where there wasn't any. While I generally support police, I've been known to lambast particular cops for being shitheads or menaces. Those words shouldn't be twisted to imply that I intentionally murdered a random cop who did a no-knock raid at the wrong address at 3:00 AM because I woke up to bangs and screaming in the dead of night and acted in reasonable self defense. And it's not just a matter of personal interest, but one of civic interest - in neither her case or my hypothetical scenario do we want the media on either side making it out into something it's not.
Anyways, I haven't finished the video yet. I am undecided on my impression of her intent here, not that it really matters what us YT lawyers and ethicists think at the end of the day. I don't know if it was intentional, but I do think she's a menace either way for showing no remorse or concern whatsoever thus far.

Seeing someone who will now have real consequences for twenty or thirty years might help shape future behavior a bit. Even more disgusting is the fact that she knew she killed someone but didn't get shaken until she realized that he was a cop, and then again at the mention of the plethora of surveillance cameras. She is a prime example of why the death penalty should be actively utilized and carried out swiftly in all States. This.
It doesn’t matter their opinions on the criminal. Anyone who thinks it helps the situation in the slightest to insult and ridicule is sadly full of rage. Yes, it is very easy to be angry about this girl’s actions - but it doesn’t help anyone or anything to let yourself get taken over by it.
These officers did a fantastic job in getting the truth, getting it quickly, and doing so with dignity. The criminal was prosecuted appropriately, and the victim’s family even agreed the girl did not deserve to die for her crimes.
Love is the only way forward. That doesn’t mean we have to let people get away with these things, it just means that we don’t have to carry the burden of anger and hatred around with us.
      She deserves what she got.
