That last knot was like some kind of voodoo magic.

The soft shackle method is my favorite. Hasn’t failed me and it’s easy to pack up and move faster.

Great tips!! I personally prefer the shackle method. But, I'll always fill a bag with rocks or dirt, or whatever is available for weight to throw over the line. Then again, I've always lived dangerously..... LMAO! Keep up the great videos!! With so many new Jeep owners and off roaders, this type of channel is going to be really helpful!!

If you knot up your tow strap you can get the knot out by banging the knot with a hammer against concrete. You have to keep turning it and working at it but it will work. Great video

You may want to add a cinch bone to the gear you sell. Cinch bone is the best way I've found to join two tow straps. In a pinch you can use a rolled up magazine in the knot so you can untie later.

Great explanations and safety considerations. Thanks a ton! Your knot you said won't come undone? You need to check out a MaddMatt video on how to work with the strap knot. You'll be glad you did bro!

Pro trip, you knot two straps, they’re not trash .
Step 1 grab a block of wood
Step 2 grab a rubber mallet
Step 3 lay knot on wood start hitting with mallet
Step 4 you’ll see it start to loosen up
Step 5 bet your friends and score some beer money

What about looping one thru the other and shackle both ends on the hook on truck

    Tip:
If you do lock to straps together.
Soak I'm water, clamp in a vice and use pliers. It's not to bad, but definitely something to avoid if possible.
I've also used a stick as a spacer many times without issues

What’s a great way to attach tow strap to a frame? Will a soft shackle be big enough to fit around the frame?

  • @savmanhk

I would have rated the least as # 4 rather than # 1.

Method 3 and 4 are the same. In 3 if you just twist the strap thats pretzeled. It ends up lookings like #4. Trust me. I have to use sling and restraints on all the pipework I use in the oilpatch. These slings have different ratings and uses. But the splicing is all the same.

do you find joining straps is not as effective in a recovery at building up enough energy in when the straps take up full stretch. If you watch a video by mad matt in Australia on how to undo straps done in method 3 there is a trick to getting them undone. Well worth the view as you information on never getting the straps apart is not entirely true. Sorry but need to let you know that

    The first thing that crossed my mind was ;
put one loop through the other , then pass any sturdy piece of wood through that “thru-loop” , thereby blocking the loop from escaping . Peace , Coop
