    I chose Hiker because I needed something off-road worthy that I could pull with my 2 door Jeep that wasn't outrageously priced and with added useless features.
    Hiker was able to build for me a basic enough trailer with everything I need and nothing else. Integrated kitchens, plumbing, just adds weight, cost, and use up valuable space. When I can simply use my everest outside and collapsible buckets as sinks.
    All the other trailers I saw pushed options I will ever want or use. And the included mattress were uncomfortable. With Hiker I chose my own mattress.
    Hikers are just priced right. And they over the perfect blank canvas for anyone to modify them to their liking. I really love that.

    Why does your thumbnail ask the question “is hiker trailer Denver closing?” And the video says nothing about that??? Click bait I guess

      Reach out to hiker they have a network of owners all over. I am sure you can see one before buying in CA.

    Does anyone know if Hiker has plans for a showroom on the East Coast in or south of Virginia? Indiana is a long way to go to see real trailers vs websites

      If you go to the Hiker website - they have a handful of showrooms throughout the US now. If I remember correctly, they one in the Northeast now.

    Thank You Matt & your pretty half. I'm on the hunt for my trailer now. I've still got my youngest to graduate and get on with his life and then I'm retiring to the road and dispersed camping life. So I have been studying my options and desires. The Hiker trailer is in my top three choises right now. Y'alls videos have been extremely educational for me and I Thank You. Keep doing whatcha do!
    God Bless Y'all!

      What 2 other brands are your finalists?

  • @amythinks
    @amythinks Год назад

    A few years ago I tried to get a Hiker Trailer built. At the time, they weren't doing any of the options they had done for previous customers that were displayed all over RUclips and that had become part of the passion and enthusiasm around the brand. That was disappointing and both Colorado and Indiana had limited their options. But I will say that Indiana was so much easier to talk to about it. Colorado was terrible. I decided then and there I would not purchase a Hiker Trailer, after about a year of dreaming about one. My dream was crushed. Until I realized that for the same price, you can buy an enclosed trailer and actually stand up in the thing and have it customized. And it's lighter than an all wood Hiker Trailer. I hope they are going to become more like Indiana and less like Colorado during this merger. They were not accommodating at all.

    Thank you both for all the info and tips on your videos , I may have missed a video but have you commented on how the roof top AC is working out , pros or cons ?

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  2 года назад +1

      We have not done a follow up the AC yet. It has been nice to have when it has been humid at night. We have used it a handful of times this year. Could we have gone without it....yes.

    I bounce back and forth between building my own cargo-conversion and a Hiker. Being a native and living Hoosier, I'm just going to have to go to Columbus and kick the tires on ah couple..,
    Maybe ask about their Ambassador Program is about!? I do and have done a whole host of different styles of camping as mentioned and non-mentioned, from just sleeping on the ground, motorcycle camping, backpacking, car, etc...
    Like I said, I'm just going to have check them out to see if it will fit my way or style now... Great informational video Matt!..

    After driving 5 hours around Blackhawk area of mtns on Friday morning we had to go home, still no dispersed sites (and no campgrounds) within 100 miles. Grrrr. Downsides of Colorado. Hiker is right, nobody will give away their good backcountry sites for that reason 😂. Thanks for great, interesting video. Some intriguing changes!

    • @LetsG0Champ

      bruh, you arent looking. There are TONS of places!!! Colorado is the meca of dispersed camping. I could name a dozen different spots in 5 minutes. I can drive 45 minutes to Idaho Springs mosat times of the year and camp all over Mt Evans. What about Arapahoe, Grand Mesa, Gunnison, Medicine Bow, Pike, Rio Grande, Roosevelt, San Isabel, San Juan, Uncompahgre, or White River National Forests? lol

      @@LetsG0Champ we were limited in time to one area. Yes we get it and there are plenty if you have time to drive away from Denver metro, but we didn’t on this particular day. There is a reason people don’t offer up coordinates to these places.

    I too bounce between Hiker and another, not-to-be-named, similar choice. Either way what has held me back is this will likely be my last trailer and I want it to be just right which means I will need to do a number of modifications. The other choice is very close to perfect but offers zero customization or options. Unfortunately I would be paying for some expensive items that I don’t want and would be removing.
    I’m about 3 hrs from Indiana location and really just need to make the trip and walk through everything. I really wanted to drive out to your Hiker East this year to see everyone’s rigs and visit with owners but it just didn’t time right.

      Seeing the trailers in person is definitely helpful. Too bad you couldn't make the campout - we had 72 trailers there this year.
