    It’s to bad the producers couldn’t be more imaginative with the camera’s and sound effects.
    Do you know how cool it is when looking at the archer from side down range, the arrow makes an excellent inflight sound as it approaches and hit the target. You also get to see the flight of the arrow, and a better sense of speed.
    The camera work was fine, but there has been some exciting footage from some RUclipsrs that really make it more exciting to watch.

I was happy to find this video but wonder how the shooters can focus and concentrate with the two announcers sticking a microphone in their face every two minutes. Good Lord, that would drive me nuts. I bet the average scores would increase w/o the CONSTANT MARKETING going on, as it is in most sport,. like golf, pool, MMA, ad infinitum, these days. "Everything's good for the GAME". is our mantra because we need something to cheer about in the good ole USA.

      The powers that be are terrible with their advertising. I never got cable again after I left for the army in 07. I watched a little regular TV a while back and was disgusted and horrified at the level and type of “advertising”. It’s probably always been that bad at least in my lifetime but I hadnt noticed, growing up staring at that damn screen.
      Niche games/sports whatever depend a lot on advertising so I’m not as mad about them. No pool player is getting millions even though what they do is 8,000x cooler than any lite beer sportsball player.
      The mic on the face is a hallmark of this competition. They know it makes them a lil uncomfortable but that’s part of the point

    • @adriandemark3958
      @adriandemark3958 Год назад

      The archers get to choose their draw weights and arrows. Some of the arrows will be carbon fiber, some of them will be aluminum. The small device you're seeing is called a cushion plunger or plunger button. It's a spring loaded pin that supports the arrow on the rest. If it is properly adjusted, the cushion plunger can improve the arrow flight for maximum performance.

      Tim is the lower seed. He has to shoot his way up against the higher seeds. It's called a "shoot up." We start with No. 8 vs No.7. Winner advances to shoot against No. 6, then No. 5 and so on until someone shoots against the top seed. The No. 1 seed earned that position through two days of shooting for score.

      Insurance is a scam. Unless you plan on using it every other year or so - then it’s a scam going the other way - but if you have to actually use your insurance then they charge you more, drop you, or send an investigator and do everything to get out of paying.
      They want to sit back and collect money from:
      - people forced to have insurance by law
      - people who have bought into the fear.
      And a lot of these fear types are more careful and responsible people who will likely pay these parasites for their entire lives and maybe use 5% of what they’ve paid.
      Save your own money instead. Don’t let the machine have your insurance (safety) money or your 401k (relaxin) money. They use it against us.
      And we need to get rid of “social security” too. What a joke

  • @justinmorgan2126
    @justinmorgan2126 10 месяцев назад

    They both seem to draw vey strangely, the nock does not rest in the crook of the string. Surely they are having to compensate for that which is just adding complexity. Why not just draw around the nock? It's not as if the "stick" will affect accuracy at the range they are shooting. Weird...

    • @DinoPimp
      @DinoPimp 9 месяцев назад

      That's the thing about barebow. The variations in form from shooter to shooter are considerable. Some guys shoot with strange form and styles, and still walk away with trophies.

    • @travispoulin252
      @travispoulin252 9 месяцев назад

      They mentioned it in the video but basically the bows are so long that it has almost no effect on the arrow. The arrow rest is moved up as well to keep the arrow aligned straight. And in return they can bring the arrow up to eye level and use the arrow itself to aim down like a sight. It kinda seems like it's an exploit of the rules to shoot this way since it's supposed to be about shooting without a sight and this essentially gives them a sight. But still they are great shots regardless.

      Think about the challenges the interviews add to the competitors. It's taking their head out of the game.

    have you seen the dude called lance who can split an on coming arrow with his arrow. he can jump in the air and fire 5 or 6 arrows before his feet hit the ground. he can fire around corners and hit targets. i think his last name is Ericson. he has a channel on youtube.

    I don't think you should interview while they are shooting. That is a big distraction for a concentrated mind. Before or after, or both.

    I wonder why prize money is so modest. I watch gaming tournaments with similar viewership, like the AOE4 ones, and they have half a million $ prize pools. I don't get it, why is archery so low profile?

      Because it is a niche sport. The more people watch and do it the more money flows.
      How many archers are there around the world? 15-20 million? How many of them buy high end gear? Gear that potentiality last for years.
      There are more gamers buying new games so the companies can give more tournament money bringing more people and money in.
      This is the same with women sports. They earn less because they bring lesser audience.

      Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that Lancaster Archery is doing it, and it's a great show, pure pleasure for us. I'm just a bit sorry that there isn't more to show for it for the archers.

      @@-fazik-3713 I guess it more about the headcount, I'm marking way higher for archery per year than for gaming in a lifetime. :D

    Only in America! A regular guy spends most of his time on his 9-5 and comes home, feeds the dog, kisses the wife, goes to the garage drinks a few beers and practices his Archery, Woodwork, Metalwork, fill in the blank! This is Excellence without Celebrity! Why We can Compete with anybody in the World! We don't need Permanent War to compete!
