Pancham Puri is like a Temple to our souls, whenever I step in Mumbai, I go to worship there, reason is my Father once got stranded in Bombay in 1965 with a friend aside in between Mill Strike. This shop not only provided food to my then young three days starving father, but also gave Rs.2 to get back to Jamshedpur. Our family as a whole shall ever be under debt to this family. Bauji to charamsparh pranam.
Passing on such wonderful qualities to next generation is itself a blessing! Humble Pranams to your parents for such an upbringing! And a royal salute to you for quoting it!

if you are from out of mumbai and want to savour Mumbai food add a few more on your bucket list. Bhagat Tarachand restaurant in Kalbadevi (Jhaveri Bazaar) This too is over a 100 years old restaurant and are famous for their Bottle chaas. Their Dal tadka and bhindi fry is to die for. you must eat the masala Khichiya papad on streetside in Jhaveri Bazaar,
Ayyappan Idli stall - Matunga, This guy started it really small by selling idli's out of a small aluminium vessel , lived in Dharavi slums and today he owns property worth crores with his humble south indian food business. he kept doing what he is good at persistently and earned his worth. every single item here is worth a try. crispy medu wadas, delicious ghee soaked sheera and upma, fantastic dosas and a few kinds of idlis.
Dosas outside Mithibai college Juhu, Vile Parle, This is an open air large thela and people line up in their BMW's and Merc's to enjoy over 80 different kinds of Dosas.
Sandwich outside National college Bandra or even outside Charni road station there is a good sandwich guy on a thela.
DO NOT miss Elco market for chaat items at Hill road Bandra. The best Paani poori ever.
