The guy behind the sequencers and such is Sascha Konietzko, the founder of the band. Dozens of different musicians have come and gone since the founding of the band in 1984, but I believe the longest tenured band member is Lucia Cifarelli, who joined in 1999, and married Sascha a few years after. They’re amazing with their fans, holding meet and greets after most shows. Some of the M&Gs are at locations near the concert venue rather than the venue itself if the venue tries to take too big of a cut of the money brought in by merch sales, so they can offer merch to people at reasonable prices rather than $40 tshirts. When I saw them, the guitarists and drummer offered to get me drunk on their tab because I’d told them a joke. Between their music, their personalities and their politics, I’m probably a fan for life.
Finally someone reacts to KMFDM one of my favorite bands ever. They are a industrial metal/rock band. Lucia is the co- vocalist with Sasha the guy with the machine.
This is the first time I've seen anybody react to them. 'Bout bloody time! They are the Godfathers of Industrial music with their first album released in "84 but they made it big in the mid 90's with the song Juke Joint Jezebel. The guy with the rack of instrument is Sasha aka Captain K. He is of Russian descent but grew up in Germany and were originally based in Paris. He speaks 5 languages (English, German, Russian, Spanish and French) and has recorded songs in all those languages except French. The girl is Lucia, an American from my neck of the woods on Long Island. She joined in 2000 and married Sasha in 2005. This is a very underrated band that gets some shit for their far-left views but I still love their music. Other songs you need to check out are Juke joint Jezebel, Light, DIY, Megalomaniac, Stray Bullet, Genau, Pussy Riot, Free Your Hate, and A Drug Against War. Enjoy!!!!
KMFDM SUCKS AND ROCKS ! In all seriousness they are unbelievable musically, politically and ethically. And the fact that Lucia married Sasha only solidified their sound. This band proves that industrial can be independent, smart and humorous ! I love them SO MUCH ! BTW I'm French and I saw them live in Austin with a friend ! I was SO STOKED !
They are one of the pioneers of making industrial music mainstream, along with the likes of Nine Inch Nails and Ministry. The guy at the front with the glasses on the keyboards is Sascha Konietzko, who founded the band in 1984 as a performance art project. He jokingly purports himself to be the father of industrial rock. They have had many different members over the decades. The singer here is Lucia Cifarelli, who is also Sascha's wife of the last 16 years. 'Juke Joint Jezebel' is probably their most reconisable song.
First KMFDM song I heard, "A Drug Against War" (check it out) during the Much Music Power Hour in 1994. Immediately went CD hunting. My first concert, 1997 Toronto. 60+ CDs (studio albums, live, remixes, greatest hits, etc.) and 5 concerts later, I think I like KMFDM.
holy shit...KMFDM... I haven't listened to those guys in over 10 years...thanks for the reminder. If that female singer is Lucia Ciffareli (can't tell if its her or a new female singer with the lighting) she also was in a band called Drill that released 1 album, also called Dril. It is an excellent album.
My friends and I could never remember what it stood for, so we just went with "Kill Mutha F*ckin Depeche Mode". Check out their song "Drug Against War".
While KMFDM albums may be only recorded with a few people, they always like to have a superior band behind them for tours. Every musician that has ever worked or toured with them has been top notch at what they do.
So,after KMFDM,MINISTRY,NINE INCH NAILS its time for another Industrial Metal Founder...this time from my own Hometown Düsseldorf....its Time for DIE KRUPPS!!!.....time for some METAL MACHINE MUSIC !!!
The female singer, Lucia Cifarelli started out in a band called Drill, which I actually saw opening for KMFDM a *very* long time ago now. If you can find the tracks on the internet anywhere, I definitely recommend it. I have wondered frequently how big that band could've gotten if they didn't get screwed over by their record label. Alas.
Since i was a Teen been a huge fan of these guys , im 43 now . ive always thought there music is like a badass Cyberpunk movie Soundtrack or a dark revenge/superhero movie like The Crow . there awesome plan and simple.
Please react to their other songs: Light, Power, Juke Joint Jezebel, etc. too many but these are some of my favorites. I think you’re going to like the high energy.
Hell yeah! The kings of industrial rock although they refer to their style as "Ultra heavy beat." One of my all-time favorite bands, can't believe it's almost been 40 years since they hit the scene. I do miss Steve and Jules on guitar though. KMFDM forever sucks!
Nice to see someone reacting to one of my favorites, KMFDM If you need more suggestions, check out their songs Paradise, UAIOE, Dogma, Sucks, Light, Krank, Professional Killer, D.I.Y., Save Me, Ultra, Adios, Risen, Vogue, Megalomaniac, Anarchy UAIOE is highly recommended it has just the most relentless beat
KMFDM better then the best 35 I treat for the freaks Truth or dare Been in the business for 35 years You guys gotta check em out Sascha Konietzko is considered the godfather of industrial If you guys are in a band and comment back to Me I'll check out your video.. Nearly right on the anniversary - it's actually my 34th (and my 59th birthday) - I never wanted to commit the cardinal sin of forgetting our anniversary! {blackadder} So I had a very cunning plan, so cunning I could just take 25 off my age to remember which year it was! {/blackadder}
I get to see them tomorrow! I havent seen them since wwiii tour. Ive had a lot of aggression in the last 2 years I have to work out of my system... been a fan since the mid 90s.. kmfdm sucks!

Juke Joint Jezebel is their biggest hit. It was on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack.
It was also played in Bad Boys during the Club Hell scene.
My friends and I could never remember what it stood for, so we just went with "Kill Mutha F*ckin Depeche Mode". Check out their song "Drug Against War".
