There is a field full of it not far from my home, 6 miles or so,I would like to see them harvest it, I live in what is called the North East, county of Yorkshire UK
Amazing video. We would like to show this video on our channel with your permission. We will add your link and your name will also be mentioned in the video. Let us know what you think
It's called an all-crop head so it can do corn as well but will take in the whole corn stalk. Most guys use a stripper header for corn as it takes in mostly only the corn cop and spits the corn stalks onto the ground in front of the combine
@@sprayguy9 there is a public trail for 4 wheeling in TN that has those banger things to keep deer off the road because once you hit the trail it was throttle open,we knew exactly where it was and still scared the sht out me everytime, sounds like somebody shooting at you, took a while to get used to.also thanks for the sunflower seeds, got a bag right now
Oh yeah the sunflower growing out front of my house is totally bigger than these. It’s wider than an inch at the base and probably getting close to 10 feet tall. These are big but I don’t thing they’re that big. Maybe they might be as tall but not the girth.
I had no idea conventional comibines were used to harvesting. Curious, where are you located? Are there places to sell like they do corn and soybeans at a co-op?
This is just north of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Two kinds of sunflowers: oilseed and confectionery. The oilseed is taken to a crusher to make sunflower oil and the confectionery are processed for human consumption.
Manitoba has approximately 36 million acres available to agriculture. The sunflower acres fluctuate a little, depending on prices, but are in the 36,000 acre range so there's not a lot. That's less than 1% of the cropping area.
Hello Peter Agriconguy: 6:34 Didn't find any inmates hiding out in your sunflowers??? I'll trade you your badger & gopher damage for my deer & bear damage.
Funny you say that because the day before I took this video, there was a guy that decided not to return to his minimum security roll call and was hiding in the sunflowers. There'd been several guards standing at the edge of the field waiting for the combines to chase him out. They did get him after a short stint............
I’m not a Green fan but I appreciate a good quiet video. No narrative, no shitty music, just listening to the sound of working machines.
Thx
I had so much fun watching this. You’re amazing!
Nice combines
Different crop to the norm, always wondered how it was harvested, excellent.

Nice vid!
Thx
I remember a farmer by me tried running them through a regular corn head, it didn't go well. He had a head either ordered or made so he could harvest
Wonder why? Seen plenty of people use a corn head in snowflowers
Big loss of seeds with a corn head.they go over the top
There's a local guy who used a rigid grain head, just dosent cut too low

How many rows does the planter you used for this have
24
Are the feeder heads used for corn as well or are they specialised for sunflower stalks?

Hi Peter this is great wat yield did u get & how do your guys prevent birds eating the sunflower before harvest just lost about 100tons to birds

Some guys don't bother - some guys put in "Bangers" - sounds like a rifle blast every few minutes - that's only minimally effective

CAN YOU FOLLOW THE SEEDS TO THE FACTORY AND THEN IT’S PROCESSING TO TABLE ? THANK YOU
That's a project that will take some time - I'll give it a go................ Don't rush me though
Why doesnt a regular corn work?

how much flowers are grown in your area? is it a popular crop ?
