  • Growing up, I never really understood why people would spend thousands of dollars to buy luxury items O_O" but after I started working in the luxury wedding industry last year, I was required to invest in higher-end clothes to fit in with the crowd. This shift made me explore the luxury space and slowly, I began to understand why people invested in luxury items and the feelings that came along with it. How about you? What's your mindset on luxury items? Do you own any? And if so, what was your first investment piece? Let me know in the comments below!
    Your friend,

    Hii friends!! Life's been insanely hectic trying to juggle a bunch of things XD Winter always seems so chill cuz not a lot of weddings, but once summer hits, my life flips to hyperactive haha. How are you guys doing?!? I have a lot of backlog vlog footage.. just slowly pumping content out at my own pace while balancing freelance/client work on the side too.
    Are there any specific vlog topics you want me to focus on, or particular videos you'd like to see from me? I feel like this vlog series is starting to turn into more random life/adult conversations that are going through my mind, as opposed to actually showing the lifestyle aspect of living in my 20s LOL. I have been cooking regularly still!
    Maybe once I have more exp, I can do more curated videos like 5 easy recipes to make for beginners or something hahah. Anyways, hope you're all doing amazing!! See you in the next one 😄

    Hey Mel! It's been a while since I've commented on your videos, but it's been so nice to see someone in my general age bracket having the same feelings as I do right now; watching over your other videos in this series helped me feel like I'm not alone in figuring out what life's all about and how to live the best way we possibly can. Its a little difficult to find a proper footing in life when everything's just rushing at you and you're expected to get it all at once, but I'm just trying to take it slow and steady.
    Banger outfit btw, definitely looks awesome and ready to take on the world 😎

      Aww hii, Maple Bird!! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and let me know how my series has helped you 🥺🤍 It means a lot to me & I feel the same way when I post and connect with you guys! Honestly I make these videos cuz a lot of the times, I also feel so alone and lost in my thoughts about life haha. So it’s really comforting to know others are going through the same things as me too 😅! We’re in this journey together 🤗 Really appreciate you and best of luck to the both of us!! 👊🏻

    I tend to look at what is considered luxury as it pertains to where I am. for example I live in Florida. One luxury we have is almost all warm year round. And also running water is a luxury to some people its all Perception again that good ole simulated existence stems from what we perceive with our bodies always.

    I can totally see how luxury items can change a persons persona and even confidence , personally for me I just focus on quality and at the end of the day it all comes down to our personality and action. That’s the best impression to leave behind not how we are dressed

    • @MelindaTseFilms
      @MelindaTseFilms  Год назад

      yeah! it's interesting how a simple shift in what we wear can completely transform our confidence/energy. i do think putting in the effort to style ourselves well also leaves a great impression (not that it has to be luxury items), but even just basic hygiene and grooming is a reflection of how we take care of ourselves too~ but yeah, good manners & personality is def the most important with anything in life 😊

    Side note, I’ve never been a material person, but I understand why people would value them. I dunno, I like being a minimalist; I don’t even have an interest in collecting things, but I digress. Your vlogs are always a joy to watch! Best of luck on the job!

      LMAO half of the time i'm eating frozen food or forgetting to eat tbh.. 😂 except for the once-a-week cooking with my best friend where we try out new recipes hahah. so much to learn and juggle as an adult!! 🙉 yeahh I've emptied out a lot of my closet and donated clothes too cuz i just want to keep the essentials. my brain feels super messy and cluttered if my space is not clean/organized XD i like the balance of minimalism with a touch of style/personality haha

    Hey there :) Happy to watch a new episode :) When it comes to pricey brands i always go for what i like first... if its a brand then and its more expensive then im willing to pay but just if quality fits.. but i dont look for a specific brand at all... at least not the well known brands that are always pricey haha i have my specific brands were i love the quality and desgings that are sometimes pricey though :D you looked great i n that outfit :) keep going!! Youre doing well and you look great :) All the very best!!! Greetings from Germany :) and from everything that happens we can learn a new maybe little lesson but it makes us keep going and get stronger with more knowledge about ourselves !

    I'm still in your old mindset, why on earth would you spend that much on clothing lol If I were to spend more, I'd focus on quality, not luxury, if that makes sense. Luxury brands are all about selling you the experience which I personally find hard to experience, maybe i'm just not rich enough lol

    • @MelindaTseFilms
      @MelindaTseFilms  Год назад +1

      😂 yeah i feel you. i think it's worth it if you're investing in staple pieces that you wear or use basically every single day (like a belt, bag, or wallet), but not splurging to have a mega huge collection just for the sake of it (like a $400 shirt just for the logo). i can def feel the quality difference between my $10 yesstyle belt that felt super thin/plastic-ky, and my current gucci belt tho xD also tbh i wanted the belt cuz of GG aka good game LOL

    Wow I'm kinda early for once, just got home from work and sat down to relax and saw your upload 😄 wowow $1500-$3000 for a blazer 🥲I honestly can't imagine...but I guess I understand the reasoning behind the idea of luxury items like you explained. Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to things after you've worked hard, otherwise what's the point of working so hard without any return? There are people who work their whole lives with something like retirement as a goal and once they get there they realize they end up without much time left to enjoy life anymore! It's a balance of working towards goals but also being able to enjoy life while you're at it (and not spending your life savings on living the luxurious life LOL) okay I think I went too deep with that but yeah haha 😛nice fit, definitely makes you look like a boss!
    I'm glad to hear therapy seems to be going well! It honestly sounds like therapy has helped you understand yourself better and give you a different perspective on things! The self growth and development is very inspiring and always has me nodding and smiling along as if I should try to be like you and understand myself more haha. Best of luck on the continued interview process! I believe in you! Also these adult conversations you're having in this vlog series is very much part of your journey of living alone in your 20s, so I honestly still think it fits the theme 🙂and recipe cooking vids sounds like a great idea! My youtube and insta recommendations are all food and cooking because I love cooking and I'm always trying new recipes and cooking different things... so basically I'm super biased but I'd definitely enjoy that LOL (let me know if you ever need simple recipes to try!) 😁either way I'm looking forward to whatever you put out next!

      hii eric! yeahh haha life is def about balance.. maybe I'm a bit unhealthy sometimes cuz I tend to think, "what if I die tmr?" Lol so I'm a mix of wanting to live/enjoy the moment (me yoloing on solo trips around the world), but also saving up and wanting to own my own property one day 🤣 yeah, like you never know when something is gonna happen to you and life is short ahaha.
      thank you!! yeah therapy has been an immense source of growth, comfort, and guidance for me! aww thank you for joining me along on my journey and so wholesome to hear you smiling along :') appreciate your continued support and encouragement!! Ooo you should upload your recipes/food pics on IG!! hahah i just went grocery shopping today and bought a lot of snacks too XD hope everything's been going great with you!! 🤗

    Luxury items is all bs. People think there's a correlation between price and durability/quality, but it's all bs . Getting the wrong education is not good education, this is coming from someone with an education from Stanford business school

    • @MelindaTseFilms
      @MelindaTseFilms  Год назад

      I'm sure there are some links to higher price > higher quality (production materials involved, etc), but the amount they jack up the prices on luxury items is definitely more connected to the brand name and the rep they've built up over the years 😆 and then ppl buy into the feeling/emotion/status of what those items offer them haha (or maybe they just really, really like the design of the item and can't find it elsewhere too) 🤣
