It's a really great thing to try before you have kids. We were not Nomads, but my husband's work allowed us to live for a few years in several countries, including Israel. I loved it, you learn so much about different ways of life, you'll never learn that from a short visit.

I saw immediately that the Ivrit is very understandable if you have been working on your Ivrit. I performed a concert of classic Israeli songs last year, and that required that I translate for myself every word. Then an Israeli "nomad" moved in upstairs, we would visit and we spoke totally in Ivrit. He worked as an Ivrit teacher in a Jewish academia, but actually a tour guide out of work! The ZOA placed Israeli tour guides all around the world to be Ivrit teachers in Jewish schools. Modern Ivrit is my great interest - but you must work at it and translate every word!
