If someone buys a gps tracker for nearly the same price with free month service you can track someone without anyone knowing. At lease the airtag warns you where the others don’t. This is a case where some people use this wrong, but id suggest far more use it as intended. Like just about anything, tech can be misused and i think this reporting is a bit much. I find my AirTag to be invaluable for finding my things.

My goodnesses, I have an air tag on my cameras and if I leave them behind, there is a good chance the location will be sent through the find my phone network. You can use anything for the wrong reason - I like the air tags and Apple took steps to protect the safety of people. Personally, I wish it wasn’t so quick to alert others. If my camera was lost or stolen, I’d like to find it before someone was alerted and could destroy the tag. I was not happy with how the interview was designed to make this tool the villain.

I find the little trackers come in handy, and while they benefit from the vast find my phone network, the apple gizmo has no gps radios. If it was in your home, the tracking is limited. They should allow the person to say they are not aware of this device causing the device to be deactivated until the actual user is able to answer some questions etc. to have to enabled again.

Samsung Smarthings tracker uses LTE and can work anywhere u have LTE service. It won't notify u if u are being tracked... If someone really wants to track u they will use a device like this where you WON'T know about it... idk Why AirTags are in the news so much other than the fact they are popular.
they need to add a feature of reverse tracking the devices that are tracking that AirTag, so we can find out who's tracking it.

Supposedly there is an android app for that, but I don't have an android to comfirm.
