They are honestly pretty close to the same size. The Milwaukee is slightly bigger if I remember correctly but what makes it work better for my specific loadout is just the varied size of different pockets allows the tools to fit a little better in them.
Could I make a kit with less expensive tools? Sure you could put together a tool kit for a lot less and I have also done that on the channel. Most of this stuff was acquired over the last 8-9 years but having a tool RUclips channel does give a good excuse for some of the more premium purchases.
After loading the Milwaukee tote is that pile of tools what would not fit in the milwauke tote? I think I have more questions now than before I watched the video lol
I switched out from the Veto bag to the Milwaukee bag. As part of that I cleaned out stuff that I don't always carry in the bag (from prior projects) but also switched out to some more Milwaukee specific stuff for the video. So what you see is a combination of the leftovers from that.
@@TinkerWithTools ok makes sense. I watched the video again and gave it a like. How are you liking it compared to veto and how is it holding up after 2 months of use?
They are incredibly similar. I have an issue with the handle that I talk about briefly in the Top 10 tools of 2023 video, but then there are things that I like better. The size and assortment of the pockets on the Milwaukee seems to work better for the tools I currently have in their and I feel like it's a bit tidier of a load out because of it. Both bags are excellent options though in that high end bag market.
If I am being honest it had never occurred to me to do it another way. I guess it seemed like a more natural fit in the individuals pouches that way. I am going to try it other way and see if I like it. Appreciate the suggestion.
@@TinkerWithTools appreciate your content. It took me a while to develop my philosophy on tool organization. The ideal is being able to see the tool you need from across the room. First order of retrievability as Aden savage would say.
Do you currently have the folding Purdy tool? I do, and I have always been looking for a good fixed one to replace it. Do you like the Goldblatt? The Purdy one has one major problem for me, which is that the position of the release for folding it back up is too close to where I am already gripping the tool if I need to put a little bit more effort into something. If you are really scraping hard and holding it with your full grip, it can fold back up again and you have to pay a lot of attention to your grip or else have it pinch you.
I don't. The concept seems like a great idea but you aren't the first person to point out it's flaws. I'm just always intrigued by haven't the tool in a smaller form factor. The Goldblatt is night... I ended up getting it because it was the stainless version and would be more rust reisistent and look better longer. Functionally I don't know that it's all that much different.
It does fit but the Milwaukee bag is a little bit deeper so it sits further down in. There is also nothing to hold it in place like the notches on the veto.
So I don’t have a 10” knipex. I picked this up on Black Friday one year for like $30 and I like them. I have a 7 1/2” knipex and I would say the build quality is similar. These feel a little lighter than the other 10” plier wrenches that I have (icon and Klein).
I have a multimeter that lives in my tool box unless I am going to be doing more dedicated electrical work, and then I will grab it and put in the center compartment. The voltage detector lives in the bag all the time.

I hope the tough built is nice because it would push Milwaukee to keep it up but I think only time will tell if people actually buy it and use. Milwaukee has a strong grip on the market currently.
My tool load out did fit a little bit better in the Milwaukee, but that came down to the individual pockets being slightly larger and therefore accommodating larger tools. But with that said, I do feel it worth mentioning that while Milwaukee has a 10" open top, 15" open top, 15" closed bag and a backpack in these new style of bags, veto has 14 different tools bags that are considered open top alone, all of different sizes. Picking either one will give you a quality bag but there are a lot of options on the Veto side.
I think they are just matching Vetos price point to be honest. Some will find it worth it. Others won’t. Luckily they still have the lower price options if you prefer.
Hard pill to swallow, "feels more premium" is the most over used trash explanation of something since RUclips reviews started. It's subjective, non-descriptive, and very vague. What makes something feel more premium? Is the leather thicker, did it come from wagyu beef? What's someone's experience and background in leather textiles? How callus is one's hands? Did that affect the feel of it?
To be a bit more specific, compared the 15" tote of their old design, the overall structure of the bag is more rigid. The materials used appear to be thicker and higher quality. The previous bag didn't haven't anything substantial protecting the upper edge of the bag, where it will receive a lot of wear, this has leather just like the ridgid. The strap has more padding and the hardware connecting it to the bag is more robust.
The previous 10’, 15’, 20’ Milwaukee Packout tool bags are constructed just as well and built to last. The new Packout tool bags are no more than an upgrade of their originals, but with “thicker materials” and of course with a “premium” price tag.
I looked at it at Home Depot. They dropped the ball with no pockets at all on the long sides. What is with all this craze for stackable tool “systems”. I am an hvac service tech and am not going to wheel a stack of tool boxes up to every service call. I need a single shoulder bag that fits my needs and most come up short in a couple key areas. Also not weigh 20 lbs before any tools are in it. I wish these tool companies would consult with actual blue collar trade people on designing tool bags and such.
I think this is just the start of these style of bags and totes from Milwaukee. I wouldn't be shocked if you saw smaller bags eventually as well. Much like we already have from Veto.
I just did a 6 month review and I think the Veto (the Tech OT-MC) is likely to find a new home and I'll keep the Milwaukee. There are just a few things about it that I like a little bit more. Make no mistake the Veto is a great bag (and I have three other products from Veto) but in this particular bag, I tip my hat to the Milwaukee.
I like Milwaukee, that is true. But I also like a lot of different Milwaukee Competitors including Veto Pro Pac. I think it's nice that there is a nice alternative to the clear leader in the market.
Robertson just isn't as common in the US outside of pocket hole screws. I have a bunch of robertson bits and depending on the work, I will definitely have one in my kit... just not part of the standard tool kit since I never run into them otherwise. I think robertson (or square drive) is one of the better drive methods. Torx is more common here so most of my screws that I buy are torx becuase of their superior characteristics to phillips.

So which one? Veto or Milwaukee?….. can’t make my ind up!!! No home depo here in the uk!!😢
I just did a 6 month review and I think the Veto (the Tech OT-MC) is likely to find a new home and I'll keep the Milwaukee. There are just a few things about it that I like a little bit more. Make no mistake the Veto is a great bag (and I have three other products from Veto) but in this particular bag, I tip my hat to the Milwaukee.
would've helped if you put them side by side
I appreciate the feedback!
A Milkie fan boy
I like Milwaukee, that is true. But I also like a lot of different Milwaukee Competitors including Veto Pro Pac. I think it's nice that there is a nice alternative to the clear leader in the market.
How do you not have the best driver in the world. A Robertson...😅😂
Nice bag but not worth the 200 price tag
Just curious, do you feel Veto is worth it or just no bag is worth that price?
@TinkerWithTools from what I have seen they seem a little nice then Milwaukee but I don't have one so I can't say they are any better though I have the 10 inch bag of Milwaukee and it's pretty nice but it's still not worth the $69 it costed
I myself like the tool backpacks better then bags just because u can turn them over and not have to worry about the stuff falling out
I get that. They came out with a backpack at the same time but if you think the 219 is a bit much the 269 or something they want for that will be overpriced as well.
@TinkerWithTools yeah I seen it and I want it pretty badly but yeah it's way overpriced I mean it's a backpack/ bag at top dollar maybe 120 not over that though but it looks really nice
Definitely looks a lot like a veto ot-mc 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, they definitely had a target.
This bag is tooooooo heavy
What do you use alternatively. Compared to its direct competition in the Veto it’s pretty similar.
@@TinkerWithTools Yes. Milwaukee copied Veto for this bag. So the Veto Pro Pac medium tote is same too heavy.I'm an electrician. I like tougher tool bags, with each tool having its place. And I need to take my tool bag walk around. So the tool bag must be lighter. I have used Veto. It's really heavy. Now I using Toughtbuilt 10" tool tote. It's lighter than Veto. But still not very satisfied.
Thought Milwaukee was made in Israel?
The bag is made in China.
Vito is far better than that
Not against saying that Veto makes a good bag but for you what is it that is far better?
No way better than Veto
I think I might still prefer my veto but I wouldn’t be unhappy with the pack it. And if I was deep into pack out it would be nice to have the compatibility
