Just look at how effective he was during Game Of Arms, when he was motivated to train. The guy was almost unstoppable then.

I just think he got super lazy, but maybe he does have a chronic injury he's fighting through and doesn't want anyone to know. Maybe it's that shoulder thing.

Matt seems to be a very flawed arm wrestler. His toproll attacking chain can hit crazy hard but he seems to have significantly weaker cupping strength and generally lacks a tight wrist to stop just about anybody attacking his hand and wrist. You can see he is super reliant on hitting first, using his leverage and toprolling power to bust open opponent's hand to win, but if he ever got stopped, he is often easily beaten by others, which is a stark contrast. Like when he fought Ermes last time, he got completely destroy by Ermes when his backpressure got caught, basically showing no power to offset Ermes' backpressure. Yet when he somehow in one round bust open Ermes' hand a bit, he in turn beat him easily. So I think Matt should focus on cup now as he is already decent in toprolling chian. He needs cup to couple that instead of continuing to elevate that. I could be wrong but I think the reason Matt and Devon clearly share similar structual build but differ greatly is the cup.
