    Amazing stuff, thanks for sharing. And thanks for showing the full re-installing of everything after removal, and not just saying "reverse the process", as this is a complicated install and I imagine that most of us will be following along step by step. I'm thinking of tackling this but it looks daunting with all those small connectors. Using an external keyboard for now.

    Thanks for the video. I inherited this m'book from my daughter with a missing key and several keys that didn't work. Followed your instructions, including an ssd drive and more memory, and now everything is working as it should (otherwise I wouldn't be typing this now). Had to get a bit creative with the antenna wire to allow the power button to come out because of a dodgy bracket screw that wouldn't securely grip anything I poked at it, and the 51 tiny screws for the keyboard just about did my head in. Audio was a bit on the soft side during the video, even at full volume, but overall, after watching the video several times your instructions led to a successful outcome. Thanks again!

    Very good video - I installed a new keyboard successfully. The only feedback I'd give for future videos is to have a high-res closeup when showing how some of the connectors go in. Inserting the keyboard ribbon is quite difficult, and I couldn't see how much it should go in.
    Thanks again - $50 for a new keyboard and this video meant a cheap repair.

    Totally accurate. Nice job. One note: Do not turn the computer over after you unscrew the power-switch connector. The power button and little spring ring will fall out. If this happens, put the button back in and then the ring.

    Thank you so much felt really confident with your step by step guide! Saved my computer and my pocketbook. May I add that when reassembling....the keyboard ribbon has an extra lever that must be lifted in order to properly install the ribbon and lock it in place. The lever is so slim you almost miss it - but it is there if you have small tools and are gentle you will lift it. Then slowly move keyboard ribbon all the way in and then press lever down. -

    Great video! However, could you specify the kind of screwdriver you used to remove the 51 screws? I have phillips 0000, 000 and 00 but those screws on the keyboard don't seem to take any of the three screwdrivers. They spin loose inside of the cross. I don't want to risk stipping them. They're made of butter and I had a bad experience working on another computer. Thanks!

    Computer won’t turn on now. The battery is connected and I can touch the battery button on the side and get a read. However the computer doesn’t turn on. Did I not reassemble the power button properly? Or would any damaged connectors not allow the computer to turn on? Would really appreciate your help!

    Nice tutorial, thanks. I'm thinking about replacing my Macbook Pro keyboard because there is one or two letters failing sometimes. My question is... did you replace the backlight layer with a new one or used the original? I found the keyboard without backlight (assuming you won't damage your backlight layer) for sale for $12, thinking about buying it...

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  5 лет назад

      Buy a keyboard with a layer because most of the time there is a spill that is blocking half the layer and it's just dirty. Maybe $10 more bucks but will save you a giant headache.

      Look at the teeth make sure they are not bent. Just un plug, reinstall and test it again. Boot it while it's hanging to see if it's siting incorrectly in the slot. Here is a track pad repair video www.appledollars.com/trackpad-replacement

      And what do you mean by „boot it while it’s hanging“?
      Thanks a lot for your answers

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  6 лет назад

      Remove the track pad completely, then reinstall it as if replacing it. See if that helps. You can have the trackpad hanging and out if it's socket and boot up the macbook while it's open and test it. That is a more advanced troubleshooting technique that saves time.

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  6 лет назад

      It could be that the speakers are loose or not connected all the way. I would take them out and observe the actual surface of the membrane and make sure nothing is blocking it's motion. Many time just taking it apart and reassembling it will fix the issue.

Sometimes they work and sometimes not. I've done all the normal things to clean, repair and replace the keys, and have replaced about 6 of them with new keys and cones. Still have the same issue, have been using an external keyboard now for the past year. Any suggestions appreciated 🙏
