    Thanks for the videos, subscribed.
I'm in the market for a keyboard and I gravitated towards these new GP models as I just love how they look (I know it's not everyone's cup of tea).
Wanted the GP6 just for the action and sound source but it's not being offered in my country, but the GP3 is. The form factor on the GP3 also looks great if you ask me.
I'm justifying in my head that a beginner won't be able maximize the better action and sounds on a GP6 or higher model anyway.
GP3 is more than enough for a beginner that only wants to play a single voice at a time (e.g. a single grand piano), so 256 polyphony is more than enough. Also, digital pianos seem to get obsolete quicker, so opting for a less expensive model might make more financial sense if the player has plans on upgrading after 5-10 years when they have acquired enough skill to maximize a better instrument.
    Would you agree?
PS: It would also be helpful for comparisons if you played the same music :)

If you are committed to daily practice and growth, and you already know that you want to grow in piano playing for the long term, there’s no reason not to get the best instrument you can afford that pleases your eyes and your ears. I am also a beginner taking lessons, and I upgraded from the Roland FP-30X to a Roland LX708. Much more expensive, and waaaaayyyyyy more features, bang for buck LX708 is very close to the GP6 in terms of features… I am enjoying my practice more, and the sound is more realistic, and I do have more control over the instrument. Getting a cheaper, around $1000 digital piano in my opinion is for economic necessity or someone not sure that they want to go long term. A better instrument is a better playing experience, even for a beginner, and will even help a beginner grow, I think.

The GP-6 seems to be a great value. I wonder if you can ship to Mexico. Thanks

What is it I don’t understand about unlimited polyphony? Won’t the sound be very muddled if you play 250 notes without releasing the pedal?

The 256 notes includes 1 note per channel (e.g. left and right) - so it's only 128 actual piano notes. Also, it includes the decay of previously played notes - so they don't sound muddled.

I can’t really appreciate at 100% the Modelling technique. The idea is great but I always feel there is some deepness - thickness missing especially mid/high range. Sounds like a toy and it’s not Roland’s fault. It’s the modelling ( I got pianoteq 8 and sounds the same )

Exactly, in person and on great sound system both Roland pianos and Pianoteq sound great and deep.

    1:44 I think you mean 256, not 256k!
