My friend had Oblivion Mobile when I was a kid, and it BLEW MY MIND. I was in middle school and not much of a gamer, but to see a “fully-fleshed” RPG on a device I thought could only do Tetris and Snake was fuckin wild.
The amount of content in ESO is insane. Every expansion feels like a whole new game worth of content. It's unhinged The main story is okay, but man. The real joy just comes from exploring the world.
ikr, you can totally ignore the online content and just play by yourself, explore areas never seen since Arena, play long quests with full voice acting, the soundtrack is gorgeous and it gets new content each year. ESO is so underrated but it's a really good game.

I love ESO but I equally hate its linearity. I hate the combat and think it could have much more weight. Make fighting enemies fun instead of clicking until it dies. Or at least make it fun
A lot of your issues with ESO were precisely because you were only doing the main quest. New weapons and armor are all over the place if you explore and do side-quests. You really narrowed your own experience.
Not to mention the incredibly friendly and helpful player base, ready to give you great gear for no cost at all. Man... I miss this game, it's been a while 😭

While I am in no way defending the design of Blades as I dont like it, but the section on it came off like you were actually just playing Blades wrong, its not an elder scrolls game, its a mobile game first- you're meant to play it over the course of months and months pretty slowly, you were trying to progress through it like an actual game, while I obvs cant speak on the actual speed you did it at but it sounds like you did the 35 or so hours over the course of a few weeks. Glad its dying a death tho so it wont waste anyone elses time
Played Blades recently. Honestly I just want to see if there’s like some underrated cool lore. Game has potential but the grind is just brutal. And I love grinding in games. I just hope with these online only spinoffs someone back it up and release some kind of offline version. I don’t expect Bethesda to release them themselves.

I recently started ESO and I've been loving it. It really is the ultimate Elder Scrolls package and doesn't comprimise the scale or tone of the setting, something I was initially worried about. You really can choose to do a lot of terrible or good things and the game reacts to it. I set the third person camera centered like Oblivion and that made the game click for me way more as that is what I've always prefered.
Commenting for the algorithm! Not sure you can convince me Legends is actually good here though lol. Seems like a lot of progression was because you were able to buy those huge packs for essentially nothing. Regardless, love your videos. Cheers
Thank you for saying that Castles has peak vibes. While I'll never like the constant micromanaging, I do think Castles has a really good aesthetic that fits the kind of game it is, like a cartoonized Oblivion, or if Prequel Adventure wasn't stuck being Elder Scrolls Homestuck. I can kinda understand if people don't like that, but it's the perfect art style for a light-hearted, cozy mobile game. I also think the soundtrack stands alongside the cozier tracks of the main series for how good it is. It's probably the best thing about the game.
I should give ESO a shot, I remember playing it a little as a kid when it came out but now over a decade later maybe I should get it another try, I got back into Fallout 76 and love it, genuinely think it’s better than Fallout 4 as a vanilla experience, and I play it as if it were a single player experience simply focusing on main and side quests, so ESO will probably appeal to me as well.
Dang when i was around 5 or 6 i played oblivion mobile on my uncles phone. Never knew what the game was till rn. The art style and visuals never left my mind 🤣
So when it comes to eso, well, so far I have like over 470 hours in and so far I’ve finished just entirety of Aldmeri dominion, ebonheart pack and daggerfall covenant, plus Vvardenfell and mages guild, thieves guild, fighters guild and dark brotherhood so… I still have ton of play to do. Game is kinda easy if you’re playing only missions and you’re not exploring the entire zone. World bosses are quite hard, especially if you don’t know how game works and dungeons are something much much more harder, ideally for group of people, unless you have good gear, good skills and you know what you’re doing. I can totally recommend you to play more, as main story is not even as good as some of the stories and quests you can find there.
Wow Blades really was a dogshit game built to milk fans for everything the franchise was worth. Can't believe I looked forward to that mess when it was initially announced (before it got delayed like twice and then kinda went radio silent and dropped. Guess Todd and co needed more time to get all the MTX in).
I have put over 300 hours into ESO and only have fully completed the main story, faction quests and two DLC packs, I own every single one, I just haven’t played them all lmaoooo
Yall don’t forget Skyblivion will be released soon. For those that aren’t aware there’s a fan made mod of Oblivion made with Skyrims engine and it’s basically redone from scratch. It’s looking amazing so far and honestly I’m more hopeful for that being good than ESVI

I'm still bummed that Blades never came to PC. It could genuinely be a fun inbetween game, since playing it on Mobile was an infuriating bit of BS for me.
ESO is fine, it's just everything I hate about MMOs amped up to 1000. I don't play MMOs to do single player, linear, consumable content. MMOs should focus on community events and interaction.

I keep picking it back up every couple of years since it came out but the animations and and combat just feel too rigid
It compromises on both scale and setting. Tarmriel Rebuilt is what you're looking for.
