I do wonder if the "uncanny" images of the thief were intentionally exaggerated, in the same way that missing person posters often push any notable details to an extreme.
If the thief had wide features, then the forensic artists might make them look even wider. The end result looks unnatural, but it sticks in people's minds.
Also, much respect for Juzo Itami. I doubt he thought he was untouchable. Rather, anything done to him in retaliation would only validate his cause all the more. He got the last laugh.

The Nayoyuki Case is pretty disturbing, I feel like he was the victim there, and to be labeled a peeping Tom on his close friend after his death just put a nail in the coffin so to speak, it’s so messed up, especially because no one really knows what happened

I think that Nayoyuki was either dead or unconscious and was put in the septic tank while totally limp. Its not uncommon for people to dispose of bodies in septic tanks to mask the smell. I also think if someone was conscious after they got trapped there they’d have wounds on their hands or body from trying to claw their way out.
I guess there’s also a part of me that just wants to hope he wasn’t aware of what was happening when he died, because that’s just such an awful way to go.

At face value it seems to make the organization look like super heroes...but if you actually play the games and listen to their stories they are NOT complimentary towards Yakuza, portraying them as violent, petty, dishonest, and even stupid. Have heard/seen from various sources that Japan's conviction rate is in the high 90s percent. Rookie police show up and are probably told by multiple people that the man was a thief trying to steal from this woman, so they act on the info they're given and attack the man. By the time more experienced police show up, the damage is already done. Once the guy is dead, the police save face if its just some criminal who died rather than an innocent person, so they have every reason not to look too deeply into the incident. More likely than not, it was family or perhaps journalists not willing to let the issue rest that finally forced the police to clear his name.

@Uh Oh Stinky of course it’s not fixing the problem. Only very slightly making things safer so people hear when/if someone takes a picture of them. I agree they need to make MAJOR changes. Japan likes to act like they’re such an innocent, crime free country, but the crimes against women specifically are awful and often lack proper justice. I’ve heard people argue that Japan is safer for women because they have womens only sections on trains… which is baffling to me because the reason they do is BECAUSE of how unsafe it is for women. They’re honestly doing the bare minimum making people feel safer in dangerous situations, but not addressing the dangerous people themselves

Awesome vid as always. I remember one story where a father was walking in the parking lot with his son and his wife was in the car. A random woman came up grabbing his son and started screaming about the father trying to kidnap her son. People came running holding the father down while the woman was literally starting to walk away with his son and they kept holding him down. In true mom moment fashion the actual mother ran across the parking lot and yanked their child away from the woman. She said she didn't even remember starting to move and she was there and the father said it was the most terrifying moment of his life because the "good samaritans" wouldnt listen to him. Seeing the mother pop up out of nowhere they quickly realized thier mistake. Although I 100% believe they had the best of intentions but in that particular situation they probably should have detained all parties instead of assuming the man had been in the wrong. I imagine the damn near tragic mistake keeps them up at night. Hell it probably keeps all parties up at night.

And as for the man in the pipe - it certainly wouldn't be the first time someone was made to look like some deplorable human being in death. So they not only lose their life, but their dignity as well. And they didn't have to lay a hand on him. What a slow, agonizing, disgusting death.

The man in the pipe is a japanese police thing. There is no possible way for the story to be true, he knew the person wasnt even there, would have had to have gone backwards hands first into sewage, knowing he would likely freeze to death and brought nothing to eat or drink. The police just didnt have a good suspect. The bar is pretty high in Japan and things like this arent even considered a coverup. Even if the first guy was a peeping Tom, how does his shoe end up on his head and another in the river? And if he knew his friends schedule, he was definitely old enough to know that he'd need some supplies in there, I really can't believe he was a peeping Tom, given the information in the video, he sounds a little too intelligent to have not thought through the plans and brought warm clothing (that he kept on, maybe from a thrift store? So he could toss it all after) and why go two days early? Go down there like 2 hours early... If he was that perverted
But if he did do all that, then what? He lost a shoe in a river and decided to put the other one on his head? Why? To be found when he was trying to hide? Thankfully it sounds like the community didn't believe that story, I just hope his female friend didn't think of him as a peeping Tom and changed her opinion about him....
Besides what punk rocker is afraid to say what he thinks(like villagers votes were bought) or ask for what he wants (even if it's something super nasty like being... Like having... Stuff on him while watching)...
Also how often do deaths occur in that village that the police would be foolish enough to destroy evidence by accident, and a coroner quitting right after that case... Nothing says "I've lied and don't feel I should be the community coroner, more than quiting after a strange and mysterious death"
I wonder what his tox report showed, if the coroner was allowed to do one and someone didn't interfere with it, because black drunk level's of alcohol or large quantities of sedatives I'd imagine would be found... That or a concussive blow to the head
Besides if you want to see a friend do that and have days while she's gone, then you could just setup a safer alternative... I guess? Idk that's not a mindset I can really get into... But I'm sure some perv out there would have a better thought out plan in the time it takes to watch the video and read my comment, or even just watch the first 13minutes

From what I know with most cases of peeping toms involving public bathrooms, they use cameras. It really doesn't make sense for him to crawl in such a place especially with no guarantee who would use the toilet in the first place; especially not his childhood friend who was out of town at the time. Only someone with severe mental instability would go through with an idea like that, not thinking about the consequences. It is pretty obvious to me that it was a cover-up, especially with the coroner quitting almost immediately after. No toxicology reports, him dying from hyperthermia instead of toxic fumes, and the nature of his garments especially his shoes. You'd also think with an area like that with such a small murder rate, they'd utilise everything possible to get to the bottom of the situation. Instead of coming up with such a quick story, with no real worry about the dead man's image in the eyes of the villagers; which small communities tend to do.
