I bought one Arctic King 5 cu ft chest freezer from Walmart 3 years back and paid $175 Canadian , it's amazing and working great . Don't put any containers coz it reduced the capacity of product, thanks for posting
well, Im disappointed with this vid. Three brands that are listed are off the wall that I would never try. RCA, Koolatron, Hotpoint. RCA is an old brand I know, but Im used to seeing it on electronics. Not crucial kitchen appliances.
Shows more like an ad trying to sell these freezers. Several incorrect informations. Example: “power on light shows freezer is working”. This is not true. The light shows only power to the unit, NOT if the compressor is working. Video recommends leaving food in freezer to defrost. Most manufacturers say to remove frozen food and place in another freezer. Should mention warranty.
@@ReviewTubes Hey, you did a really good review. The other reviews I watched (5 to 10) did not come close to yours. I will subscribe just because of your quality on this topic. Other reviewers are just going to have to up their game.
Exactly...it's a damn good freezer saving u money and food having such a suction....wait a couple mins b4 trying to open again....seal is relaxed again.... 💯
This is normal, it will be pretty warm until it cools down to the temperature. Once it reaches the temperature, it should be only slightly warm. Read the manual, it should tell how much space you need to leave behind the freezer for proper air circulation. Usually 5-10cm should work.
On a cool day you can empty your frozen foods into boxes, tubs or camp coolers. When using boxes or tubs cover with blankets to keep stuff cold. Freezers defrost pretty fast manually, wipe til dry, turn back on and within a half hour the walls will be cool and you can then reload.
Home Depot has a front opening door, Frigidaire, for 169.00,,thats what mine was few months ago,,3 cubic ft,,and i think i got free shipping, the free shipping might depend on where you live though,,or you can have it shipped to a store and pick it up
you show also a arctic king 7 cu you did not explain about both knobs every little thing that we see and that you show should be explained because you say the best chest freezers 2020
This is a pretty terrible list of the cheapest brands on the market, which in this case are NOT the cheapest after all, just the lowest quality. Arctic King is a cheap brand that's basically Walmart's in house generic label for appliances. Hot Point is a bit better but still at the bottom of the list of established brands in this category. Black & Decker..... really? Just to give you an idea how BAD this list is, I just bought a Fridgidaire 7.2 tonight from Home Depot for $229, $7 more than the 5 cu ft. Artic King junk named #1 here. Compare that to $222 for the Black & Decker that's half the size. 10% LESS than the RCA & Hotpoint on the list which are the same size, from manufacturers that have no business making cooling products. They probably just slap their label on something made by a large Chinese manf that white labels stuff. This review had to be for sponsor money, as it makes no sense. Terrible brands at terrible prices. A good unit from a real cooling manufacturer is less than all of these, and for half the list gets you a larger unit to boot. HORRIBLE list.
Aren't these all just Midea brand, Chinese-made chest freezers with different labels slapped on them? Same aluminum interiors, same control knobs, different sizes and colors and different labels. If you want a freezer like mom and dad had you need a Whirlpool or sub branded Whirlpool made model like Amana or Kenmore or Maytag made in USA or Canada or even Mexico or similar made in N. America GE model. Possibly one from Frigidaire. They are all, however LARGE freezers over 12 cu ft. Tip off is plastic liners and where made. These small ones are all now being dumped here from China at cut rate prices to undercut American appliance makers, and something should be done about it. And, frankly, 3 years life for a $175.00 7 cu freezer isn't bad. (Such a unit probably had a relay fail which is a very cheap part and easy fix, but appliance repair labor may cost more than a new unit!!!) But you get what you pay for. Buy a new or used freezer made in US or Canada (Woods Appliance made most of them and was bought by Whirlpool) and it will last you for decades. My parents' 1990 Kenmore frost free freezer has outlived both of them....

Please help we just bought this Arctic King 5.0. When we close the lid, it takes two strong men to pry it open from either side. Why is this?
Why? Because it's a piece of crap. Return it ASAP.
Yes mine do the same thing but overall I love my Arctic King
Most freezer do that after you open it and close it it creates a vacuum,it goes away after a few seconds
It vacuum locks... a good freezer SHOULD do that! 🤦🏽♀️

That's the motor working to keep the freezer freezing
Explain how to defrost and drain without removing previously frozen food.
I’m curious too because some I looked at say manual defrost.

Our hot point freezer died in less than two years. It would cost more to fix than what it’s worth. Parts made in China
time to redo this video..... done in 2019 for 2021? right.....
My chest freezer lasted only 3 years !!!! Lost a whole freezer full of meat!!!

The "buying Guide" video only listed the annual energy consumption for one and the MSRP for two. Piss poor job!

Koolitron a real waist of $ and time... 3.5 cu.ft. really is this for a dorm room.
It doesn't help if everywhere is out of stock on freezer chest and upright freezers.
Check Walmart in your area. I lucked up last weekend and got one at my local Walmart 7 c.u. ft. for $200.
