Today we #vanlife around the fine island of Lewis and Harris situated in the outer Hebrides of Scotland in our big green bus Custard.
It is the largest island off mainland Scotland and most famously known to be the windiest!
It's like no place we've been before - it has it's own raw beauty and spectacular scenery.
We took a ferry over from the Isle of Skye to explore (this week) what Harris has to offer including Luskentyre beach, The Golden Road, Mangersta beach and the most incredible Huisinis beach home to the famous highland cows! - it was the BEST day of my life! So happy 😆😆😆

Just as the two most hilarious people on RUclips would say, " Brillant, lads, brilliant!" Seriously, love you two and love these videos.
Everyone PLEASE be careful because people are going crazy from being locked down at home! I was just talking
about this with the microwave and the toaster while drinking my coffee, and we all agreed that things are getting bad.
I didn’t mention any of this to the washing machine, because she puts a different spin on EVERYTHING!!
Certainly couldn’t share with the fridge, cause he’s been acting cold and distant!
In the end, the iron straightened me out!
She said the situation isn’t all that pressing and all the wrinkles will soon get ironed out!
The vacuum, however, was very unsympathetic…told me to just suck it up!
But the fan was VERY optimistic and gave me hope that it will all blow over soon!
The toilet looked a bit flushed but didn’t say anything when I asked its opinion,
but the front door said I was becoming unhinged and the doorknob told me to get a grip!!
You can just about guess what the curtains told me: they told me to “pull myself together!”

My lawnmower, John, told me he was going on strike until April when this is all over.
I only found you during the beginning of covid and watched everything you have done. I love Sundays as each time you post, it lifts my spirits, so well done, However, I thought I was the only one in the world that adores, loves, want a Highland Cow, they are so so so so so beautiful. A few Crimbles ago, my children bought me a bronze Highland Cow that sits proudly where i can see him, stunning. So glad i found this channel, stay safe, another cow lover x

@@kingingit Thing is, you both have dogs in your home bases. Another pupski sounds great on domestic adventures, but going abroad again would be a problem. We have 2 so flying away is a no go.
First of all, how have I only just found you guys like a couple of weeks ago??? I've totally fallen in love with you both ❤️ I found you because I'm travelling to the Hebrides in September as it's on my bucket list. I've lost count of how many videos I've watched now and there's so many more to keep me going for a long time. This video when you go Hushinish beach, I'm actually staying in a chalet just along the road from where you filmed with the Highland Coo's!!! I'm even more excited after watching your vlogs.

Honestly, the best way to avoid seasickness, as long as the weather isn't too bad is to stay on deck and keep your eyes on the horizon. But don't stress, even Nelson, of Nelson's Column fame got seasick the first few days at sea after being ashore for a few months. Worth noting that Highland Cattle are majorly protective when they have young calves and will most definitely not want you trying to get close.
Motion sickness is the worst. That said good outlook on life and ferries. So excited to see where your Adventure will take you.

We made that crossing last July and it was rough with crew handing out the 🤢 bags! Loved the islands though ❤
So glad you were able to enjoy the ferry without getting sick! I love how disappointed you get when you go, "oh they're just normal cows" haha. And then you finally got to see the highland cows!
I share your pain about travel sickness. In my scuba diving years I did well over 500 dives but never ever overcame seasickness. South Africa was the worse. If you are ever in Egypt they do really good seasick tablets. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of them but they only did a couple. Anyway, fantastic, entertaining vlog and stunning footage!! 😃👍🏻
There are couple of things I do when I get on a boat (besides my sea sick bracelets or meds) : 1st eat bread, crackers and other non acidic foods before you get on board 2. Look in the horizon never somewhere enclosed. make sure you are out on deck staring into the horizon

Now I know you're probably not checking these video comments from 3 years ago. However, I can't handle the way craig is making gravy, it must be the lumpiest gravy around. That being said I think yiu guys are great. Me and my partner are planning on hiring a camper end of next month to do part of the nc500 but cant decide if the weather is going to hold us back x
Awwww Aimee highland cows are just the best aren't they! I swear they have the kindest, fluffiest, most adorable faces in the whole entire world! One day I'll be out there living my best life with them just as you have been this week! In the mean time, seeing how happy they make you will do me just fine :)

The beaches up that way are incredible indeed - I spent a week on North Uist and hand on heart I’ve never seen a beach like it. It helped that it was about 25 degrees and sunny the whole week though! 😂 thanks guys, lovely to see you enjoying our neck of the woods every week!

Ain't Lewis & Harris great, I'm sure you remember Ashley & Josh Brown staying in Stornoway in the very early days of their travels.
Another great installment, so windy at the start, glad there were no flying fish this time :)) great you are managing to see the wider regions of Scotland, great to see you trying it out, stay safe and don't get blown away.
I am so excited to you tooling through Lewis & Harris -- my FAVORITE island in Scotland. And seeing you on Luskentyre Beach brought back memories of being absolutely SOAKED by a huge squall we could see coming but didn't know it was moving as quickly as it was. But until then you would almost think it was a Caribbean paradise if not for bitter cold wind. The landscape on that island is so wonderfully wild and I loved seeing you with all the Hairy Coos, they were adorable! I got some great shots of them myself years ago but not as up close and personal as yours. I hope you make it to exploring some of the ancient ruins on on both the Lewis and Harris sides of the island. I love how they are just out there for people to explore and walk right up to them.
Have you had any troubles passing other véhicules on these narrow roads?

Love that place Bosta Beach with the Iron Age village was my fav we 🏕 camped there , was amazing , the kids were wild barefoot swimming in the sea , we saw dolphins coming over on the ferry , but this weekend in Aberdeenshire we saw the northern lights and this time they danced for us , we witnessed a meteor shower sat 21st so amazing, I love to visit gorgeous places but home in the north east is just as beautiful, keep up the adventure 💙❄️xx

I was put off attempting Lewis & Harris in a motorhome as someone told me it as too difficult in something so big! After seeing Custard managed it I'd have no problems with my 5.9m Maggie!!!! I'm such a dumbass!!! Lesson number 1 - don't listen to other people 😂😂
Another fab place to get close to Highland Coo's are the fields/ trails around the base of Ben Nevis. 😍😍

Hi guys, hope you’re having a great time, my wife and I did the outer Hebrides in September this year and it was out of this world. The beaches and the ruggedness of this place is stunning, we parked in the same spot at hushinis so we know first hand how windy it is 😂. Hope you enjoy the north coast 500 as it is brilliant also .The drive up the west coast is amazing. Enjoy the rest of the journey.
