@@griffinpiercer Have you considered that the survivor can just... intentionally go down under a pallet or out in the open? You are not in control of where the survivor gets downed as the killer. If the squad is smart and plans to intentionally go down in abusable situations beforehand you can't counter it. You guys say this as if every survivor is braindead and makes no attempt to set up their teammates. Just because you lack foresight doesn't mean the survivors will too. Even if some survivors are not doing gens, you're also not getting hooks either. You are actively losing the war of atrition with every second you waste not be able to secure your hook after a chase because the survivor is guaranteed to get off if you pick up.

The only thing this perk does for you is that your starting position doesn't have to be somewhere around the front of the killer because you can shorten the distance or get in front of him but the window between the pickup animation starting and you having to start shining is still very small so it's not like you can run 20 meters from behind the guy and still get the save. What happens is that killers aren't accustomed to this sort of variable yet so they make mistakes, allowing for Background Player to come in handy.

You can't do anything in those situations if they have that perk, since there is no room for mistake, you can't bait it like a Sprint, it's a totally noobproof perk, it's pointless to deny all of this. Ah and btw, you can't and don't have the time to make sure that nobody is in the area, they can just sit 20 meters away crouched behind a random object. So you are saying that the killer now has to check an area with a diameter of 40 meters around the slug, every time, just to be able to safely pick up someone and then be finally awarded for just doing his job (=downing a survivor)?

Also, it woudn't work if you killed yourself on hook (if you missed more than one skillcheck on hook and/or forced yourself into phase 2 with self unhooking)

@@dw-XD It was pretty good at it's intended use though? It made saves way easier if you were around, wich is what it's designed to do. Now it just outright guarantees saves, whereas before the killer at least still had a chance to get away with the pick up.

In SWF that is just too much. Let people have FUN perks. Movement speed perks are FUN & make the game less muscle-memory oriented and more reactionary (since you never know much much you can squeeze out from a chase, on both sides). Get over it.
Actually, the 200% haste makes flashlight saves actually good. Without it, flashlights need very specific teamwork and map locations to make them actually effective. Even if a save does happen, someone usually goes down 2 seconds later, or the person getting the save ends up getting hit for free
Fun fact, you "technically" if using plot twist it scales with it. so you could have 250% bonus too. I tried with sprint burst and it worked so i guess it would work with this too, I swear you gotta try it once, that you go down at a pallet, then recover like this once just to see how fast it is.
