I got their 4 track demo back in '94.....One of the most unique sounding demo tapes that I have ever heard....All of them have been redone on this album.....& it's awesome... However, there is something stygian about that demo release that I like......The guitar work is absolute genius insanity!!! These guys are in my top 5 all time.....Along with Dawn, Dissection, Burzum & pre-Legion Marduk (Those of the Unlight, Opus Nocturne).....
I bought their debut cassette tape, in 1994 DAT recording.....Also, BURZUM self titled debut on tape as well.....Amazing....Algaion is one of the primogenitures of true, melodic black metal.....! This is their best album as well......All the second, third & fourth wave, wannabe black metal bands wish they could capture just a taste of the passion & originality that Matthias & Martin captured here.....! A true classic ....

This album is fantastic... The vocals remind me of Silenius meets Spellbound from Aorlhac, only more intense. I'm definitely going to pick this album up myself, looks like plenty of sellers on Discogs have it, probably even one or two in Russia.
